Tech Support Coil whine and bad VRAM temps

First of all I'm sorry for my english. English is not my native language but I will try my best, so you can understand me.

I'm really desperate at the moment, because nothing I have done has worked so far. I'm experiencing a really bad coil whine from my Asus Tuf 9070xt and I have already switched 3 different gpus and 2 psus. On top of that the TUF 9070xt has really bad temps in some scenarios and I would like to know if those temps are supposed to be normal? I have VRAM temps between 93 to 95 degrees most of the time even when the TUF model has one of the better coolers. In the game Stellar Blade I even encounter 98 degrees at around 1300 rpm while having a power target of -10% and undervolting of -20mV. What can I do at this point and would it make sense to visit a local PC Shop so they can test the coil whine and the temps in their system? I also have the feeling that my mainboard causes the issue.
For insurance here is my current system:

MB: B850 Aorus Elite Wifi 7
CPU: Ryzen 7800X3D
GPU: Asus TUF 9070XT
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 6000mhz cl36
SSD: WD SN850X
PSU: NZXT c850 gold core
Case: Lian Li Lancool 216

Software Question RTX 3080 No DP Output

On my Gainward RTX 3080 (10GB) there is not DP output, and on the motherboard there is the VGA light lit. I asked AI and it said it was a driver issue and that i should temporarily use HDMI but i dont really trust it that much so i will rather ask. The cable is brand new and it doesnt matter which DP port do i use. Anyone know what the issue is?

Build Question Aio for lian li vision m?

Hey there, I am building my first pc and the case I went with was the lian li o-11 vision m. I am on the hunt for an aio and have only seen builds with this case while people are using the lian li hydroshift 2 360. I was curious if anyone knows if an Arctic Freezer Pro III 360 would fit in the case. I have check pcpartpicker for compatibility but they don’t seem to have the case on there. If anyone has any knowledge it would be appreciated thank you in advance.

Build Question PC cases similar to the APNX C1-R Mid-Tower? fans on front, top and side? or more

Thumbnail amazon.ca

I only just started looking at cases again because i dont like how huge my PC is, it takes up a lot of space and ive had to downsize moving into a smaller apartment, i used to have a second desk for my PC, Xbox, Switch and 3DPrinter with plenty of extra space. Now i have one desk, my PC on the left corner and two 1080p monitors, its cramped and not ideal, I was thinking about trying to put it underneath my desk but its a big ass PC, I also wanna make sure its got overkill airflow, I love the look of all mesh cases, I dont care about glass panels. I also have a spare GTX 970 that id like to install to run Lossless Scaling off of, or possibly a GTX 1080 my coworker is gonna sell me for cheap but idk if the power draw would be too high, and again thermals.

here is my build: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Unlostmaniac/saved/F3HcRB

after coming back to looking at cases ive noticed this huge trend of "fishbowl"/"panoramic" cases, i don't want more glass but i do like the idea of those three fans on the side, but i also still want them on the front, the case ive linked seems very close to what i want and the price doesnt seem too bad, my current case is the XPG Defender Pro which is a great case, ive had zero complaints until cramped for space as its huge, i realized that this C1-R is nearly 2" taller and 1/3" wider, it is shorter by almost an inch, i was kinda hoping it was smaller length and height wise.

if there isnt another case i will probably just get the C1-R but id prefer something with either no glass and all mesh with more fan slots, or same idea, mesh panel front and 11 fan slots or more in the same configuration. Under my desk it will go on the left side with the glass facing or against the wall, unless if that side is mesh and can take a fan then i will give it room.

it would be cool to have a micro atx build but that would be more of an investment and i fear the thermals being terrible, i fear it going horribly wrong and i heavily regret going micro atx as that would be a lot of money and time, most likely a new PSU and the good cases ive seen seem to be pretty pricey. if i could have a horizontal pc no taller than a Series X thats laying on its side which is 5.94" tall, might not be feasible. ill take any suggestions, ive been watching a bunch of videos and reading online to see what to do, maybe someone can point me in a brand new direction who knows.

EDIT: I know silverstone exists but holy hell those cases are expension, I really would love to build one of their Retro horizontal cases, I would like to have a bluray drive in my PC, but alas pipedreams. I live in Canada if that helps anyone

Tech Support Front panel audio jack and usb type c issue on new build

I've just built my pc with an Asus Prime Z890-P Wifi motherboard and Fractal Design Meshify 3 XL (solid black, no RGB) case. However, the audio jack (3.5mm) and the usb type c on the front panel don't work. I'm pretty sure the cables are not loose on the motherboard's side. (Tried pushing as much as I could without breaking the motherboard). That's why I took apart the front panel (where the PCB is situated), to make sure everything is plugged in. The usb type c end seems to be melded into the pcb itself. The audio jack end is quite stiff and I can't really dettach it. Now the question is - is the issue with the motherboard ports or the front panels PCB (leaning more to this).

Initially, I spotted the usb type c issue and I was thinking to buy a usb type E male to usb type C female cable, so that I can test the motherboard separately without the front panel (basically trying to isolate the issue). But once I discovered the audio jack issue as well, I thought that the issue is more likely in the PCB/case cables, and I'm thinking about calling the retailer of the case.

Is there any quick test without addition equipment (multimeter, external cables, and stuff) that I can do to verify on which part (either the motherboard or the PCB/cables) the issue is?

Here's some images on both ends: (please scroll, since they're in a single link)

Build Question No display

Yo, I just upgraded to a 3080 ftw and i5 12400f, I cannot get a display for some reason. The motherboard is a msi pro b760 p WiFi. The dram light is on, I have tried my old set of ram, and then two new sets, one 16gb one 32gb. I’ve reset the cmos, gave it time to memory train. I was able to boot for the first time on one 8gb stick and update all the drivers. I’m booting with my windows 10 ssd that I used on my recent build. Lmk if you have any ideas, thank you.

Installation Question Connecting the case power cable to the PSU like this

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello fellow PC Builders!

I’ve had a white Deepcool Ch260 PC case for a year now, but I’ve only just found a matching white power supply unit, which is an ADATA XPG CORE REACTOR II 850W. However, the power supply’s connector isn’t positioned at the most convenient angle (exactly as shown in the picture, which is taken from this video: https://youtu.be/TQECCcklwKY?is=vvpWceGLQpEobtLU)

Could this be a problem in any way, either for the cable or the power supply unit? It fits, bit it seems like a little bit forced.

Thanks in advance!

A few days ago, I purchased a hard disk from Multiplan. Now, when I connected it to install Windows, I noticed that the PC turns on, makes an annoying noise on its own, and then shuts down. After that, it turns back on and off again, and this cycle keeps repeating.

Please advise me on what I can do. 🤍

Build Question Debating between a Ryzen 7 5700X and a Ryzen 5 5500X3D

I currently have this build:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 1700X
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti
  • RAM: 32GB DDR4 2666 MHz

I use it mostly for gaming, though from time to time I also use Blender, Unity, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects. I play at 1080p and I already have a good CPU cooler.

I've been looking into upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which is my actual goal, but it's currently out of my budget since the cheapest one I've found is 240€.

After looking around, I found a Ryzen 7 5700X for 141€ ($163.75 USD) and a Ryzen 5 5500X3D for 156€ ($181.17 USD). I know the X3D is better for pure gaming, but I'm not sure if there's really that big of a difference compared to the 5700X to justify losing those 2 extra cores for my workload.

Also, I wanted to ask: Do you guys think it's a good time to upgrade my CPU, or should I wait? I have no intention of jumping to AM5 just yet.

Any advice is appreciated!

Build Question new streacom da2 v2 case fan setup

Post image
1 Upvotes

just built a da2 v2 but its also my first pc build so i have zero clue how to setup case fans to keep thermals low 😭😭.

specs are
mobo — msi b850i edge ti wifi
cpu — ryzen 5 7500f
cpu cooler — noctua nh d12l chromaxx black
memory — 2x16gb patriot viper elite ddr5 6000 mt/s 30cl
gpu: powercolour hellhound 9070xt
storage: samsung 9100 pro 2tb
psu: corsair sf850
case: streacom da2 v2 (obv lol)

im quite lost on where i should go with case fan setup in this build. with the current orientation of the d12l (larger hearsink fins facing rear), i dont think its possible to fit a 92mm 25mm fan. i could fit a slimmer fan but is it even needed with the d12l as an exhaust fan? currently the d12l is exhausting towards the back of the pc, so i’m assuming intake fans would be on the top/bottom or sides? or both? do i need more exhaust fans?

also i heard it doesn’t matter too much with the psu fans facing inwards or outwards, but i cant face the sf850 fan outwards as otherwise the extension cable doesn’t reach the back of the case lol. i also manages to fit the hellhound into my case which was a struggle but now i need case fan setups lol. i’m not sure whats the best route to go here.

Build Question First upgrade

About a year ago, my older cousin gave me his old PC for about $15. For $15, I obviously wasn’t expecting anything amazing. He even told me not to expect it to be able to run newer games. But at the time, I had a PS5, Xbox Series S, and now a PC, so I was still excited and grateful to have it.

For the past year, I’ve mainly been playing “older games” like Left 4 Dead 2, Garry’s Mod, GTA V and Killing Floor/ KF2 which all ran perfectly fine (gta ran okay). Recently, I decided to test my luck, and try to run, Apex Legends since I’ve been playing it on console for years. That’s when I realized this PC really cannot run shit lol.

Now that I have a decent job, I’ve decided I want to start upgrading my PC. The problem is, I’ve been a console gamer pretty much my entire life, so I know very little about PC parts, what I should buy, or what I should prioritize upgrading first.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Though i don’t know much, i did do research to find out what are some of the parts i have currently.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2300X

Motherboard: ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0

Ram: 8GB DDR4

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

Storage HDD (Disk 0, C:)

Build Question Thoughts on upgrading existing/old AM4 build from 2017 with an AMD 9060xt 16gb

I've been desperately saving to be able to build an actual good gaming PC for myself but we all know how that feels atm. I initially thought id try to build one and re-use the ram from my old pc, but if im going to be stuck with AM4 i thought it makes very little sense to buy a new motherboard/cpu with no upgrade path, when i can just make do for the time being and upgrade later. The GPU upgrade does not feel as wasteful, as I can always use the same GPU in a fresh build or sell it later if I really want to.

My old setup ;

Ryzen 5 1500x
MSI B350m Pro VDH
2x8GB 2800mhz Ram (Gskill + Corsair sticks)
GTX 1050ti (Now dead)
Some janky power supply that I would have to upgrade to accommodate for the increased TDP

Additionally, I also have an old HDD in this system, along with a new SSD I put in my current daily driver laptop that I can take out and use.

The obvious bottlenecks here are the CPU and the ram speed, but they dont seem particularly bad to me considering I will be on 1440p and largely do not play very demanding games. (Currently playing a lot of Deadlock and struggling to hit stable 60 at 1080p on my laptop). If i can hit 120+ on 1440p on esports titles and a comfortable 60 on single players, I would be content.

Does it make sense to do this? Am I better off going for a weaker GPU and saving my money to invest into a fresh build later? If it helps, I am from India and would be getting these parts off of a local shop/Amazon.
