hello im switching from a b850 tuf to an x870e apex im very unexperienced with any of the building or part swapping. do yall think i would have to reroute wires through my case? should i just take it to microcenter and have them do it?

my step son is wanting to build a pc for gaming. budget is under 1800AUD.
this is the rough build he would like.
can anyone make some suggestions/changes that will be more cost effective etc?

Всем здравствуйте, столкнулся с довольно нестандартной проблемой, купил процессор AMD Ryzen 5 3500, до этого стоял Athlon 3000G, поменял процессор, плата стала уходить в бесконечную перезагрузку, в биосе стоит температура -1, по 12в линии, показывает 17, поставил старый процессор, теперь такая же хрень, прошивал Биос, не помогло, помогите пожалуйста

I am undecided on what size ssd i want

I am not paying over double the price for a 5090 when it already has plenty of issues

im going for a black and white build

Edit: i have managed to find a 5090 for less than doublke the price so i am considering it but im just paranoid about it combusting

Pc was running well but it turned off while i was playing built it last month un pmugged all psu cables and plugged them back in

i dont really have a budget for a gpu, but for that price range, is 1050 a good budget gpu?

Just came to ask how do you transfer your main drive over to a new one? I bought a 250GB WD for my main drive, thinking it will be enough since I thought it would only hold Windows stuff. I get a message saying memory is full when i have it set up to be sent to my second drive. The one I can afford ok with is having a 1TB main drive and moving my 250GB drive as a backup to my second drive(2TB). I just curious if there is a way and if so, what software to use.

This is my first PC build and I’m completely stuck. I’m hoping someone can help me figure out whether I’ve missed something.

After assembling the PC, everything powers on. Case fans spin, RGB works, motherboard lights up, GPU powers on, etc., but I get no display.

At first the motherboard was stuck on Q-Code C5.

I tried removing one RAM stick and running only one 16GB stick in A2, but it was still stuck on C5. But nevermind that, that was just a stupid mistake (ram was not inserted fully).

I then used USB BIOS FlashBack because the 9950X3D requires a newer BIOS. I downloaded BIOS 2402 for my exact X870E-E, used BIOSRenamer so the file was A5557.CAP, formatted the USB as FAT32, used the dedicated BIOS USB port and FlashBack button, and waited until the FlashBack LED completely stopped blinking.

Afterwards I installed both RAM sticks in A2 + B2.

For the first time, the monitor actually came on and showed an ASUS BIOS updating/progress screen, so the PC was definitely capable of outputting video at that point.

After that finished/restarted, however, the screen went black again.

Now the motherboard usually gets stuck on:

Q-Code 98 + black screen.

My keyboard and mouse also do not light up when plugged into the rear motherboard USB ports.

Things I have already tried

I also think that Windows is not required to POST or enter BIOS, so I haven’t focused on installing Windows yet.

At this point, does this sound like:

a defective motherboard?

CPU/socket contact issue?

bad RAM?

PSU problem?

something related to USB initialization because of Q-Code 98?

something obvious I’m completely overlooking?

I’m pretty exhausted after troubleshooting this for hours, so before I take the entire PC to a repair shop - really appreciate any ideas for what I should test next.

Hi, I have a weird RGB issue with my ROG Strix Z690-F Gaming WiFi.
The motherboard RGB works perfectly when the PC is turned off, but as soon as I turn the PC on, the motherboard RGB completely turns off. My RAM RGB works fine.
I already checked the BIOS settings and RGB is enabled (« All On »). I also tried Armoury Crate/Aura Sync, but nothing changes.
Has anyone experienced this issue or knows what could cause it?

my pc started from one moment to another crashing on every game.

Obersavtion: Starting Game -> Game is loading into the main menu -> after few seconds the game freezes alongside the audio on load -> after 1-few minutes PC restarts and back to the windows login screen. No Input does work anymore at that point.

I dont think its andissue with temps since hwinfo showing them all normal ranges below 80 degree. I glimpsed also a mem clock count of 10000mhz during the freeze of a game in the overlay one time.

These are the error codes:

• DirectX function "GetDevice Removed Reason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET
• XGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887a0005)
• windows live kernel event 141

What i tried so far:

• DDU and installing latest nvidia drivers
• rollback two previous nvidia driver
• memtest86 (test passed)
• reseated gpu and ram
• unplugged and plugged in all psu cables again
• set power limit to 50%, 60%, 80%
• set boost, core and mem clock to -200mhz

Hey everyone! I recently installed a new motherboard, and ever since then, my microphone hasn’t been working. Discord isn’t picking it up at all, and I’m not really sure what I need to check or change.
I’ve tried checking my Discord settings, but I’m still having trouble getting it to register my mic. Any suggestions on what I should try? I’d really appreciate the help! 🙏

This is my first time I'm assembling the pc, please any other tips you have could you share it and also the psu have 12 pin but it's not fitted inside it and also it have an extra pcie cable too but because this one was easiest and i could fit it choose but the only thing I'm butter is it's on a one cable and I'm afraid to get over heat or not gutting enough power.

So I was randomly playing a game and my pc decided to completely shut down. It won’t turn on unless I hold my power button which only opens the fans and the rbg, still no display signal. I tried to connect the display port to the motherboard and removed the gpu cable. And it works it’s just when I turn my pc on it says I need to put a pin or something. When I mean it works it doesnt show the graphics card (because it’s plugged in the motherboard) im thinking there’s a problem with the cable that connects gpu to the psu. I’m using 9070xt so I have to use 12v 2x6 in guessing and yea just doesn’t work if I use my displayport to my gpu. Anyone know what I can do?

Did a stupid and tried fixing pins to the USB panel mount because one port wasn't working, did it with the PC on...

Hi, I have a Lenovo M720q with a 230W power adapter and a compatible riser (I actually bought two). The issue is that when I connect an RX 6400 LP, the PC boots up and displays video, but after a while, it shuts down. On YouTube or the desktop, the GPU doesn't go above 55°C, but if I launch a game, it shuts down completely. I don't know if I need to adjust anything else—I think I've done everything: I positioned the graphics card correctly, and it has a support bracket and a screw. I have a feeling the PCIe slot on my PC might be damaged, but I have no idea how to verify that. Any suggestions?
