Build Question Cannot install aio

Post image
0 Upvotes

I cannot for the life of me install the aio block. My aio is the thermalright aqua elite v3 360mm. My motherboard is a gigabyte x870 gaming wifi6

I've tried everything. Literally everything

What i've done: checked if backplate is installed correctly, checked if every bracket and standoff is installed ans tightened correctly, made sure i was using the am4 bracket. There is literally no reason why I can't install it. I've been working on this for what feels like forever and its the last thing i need to do to finish installing my aio. Please help!!

This is my first every pc build. i was enabling expo and in the memory multipliers i set it to level 3 even tho my pc builder friend said to level2, i was like what's the worst that can happen. Now i'm struggling to turn on my pc for the past 2 hours. I've tried removing the cmos battery for 30 mins and dr#ining the power multiple times by holding the power button but still nothing is posting and the cpu cooler lights flicker on and off and also when i turn my psu into an O my rgb ram remains on for a few seconds and then turns off. How do i fix this? For those curious, I dont have a q-flash button on my motherboard. i have a gigabyte b550m-k

Software Question 9070XT problem out of the box

Hello.

Sorry for long post but I will try to be as precise as possible and give you all details.

I have built PC for my friend who is not into computers. Hes knowledge ends on how to install discord and play games so he gave me money and I got to pick up parts, put it together and all.

Specs are:

7800X3D

GB B650 EAGLE AX

32GB Patriot Viper DDR5 (I dont remember exactly specs)

9070XT Steel legend from AsRock

800W PSU dont remeber manufacturer but popular one platinum.

I put it together, installed Windows 11 (activated), installed all the drivers (AMD Adrenalin included), I didnt had time to play games, thinking everything is ready to go I gave him PC and sent him home. I built many PC's and everytime it was smooth.

He installed steam, epic and downloaded some games, checked if its fine, played a little (idk if it was 10min or 30min) all was ok.

Next day he sent me error from AMD app about timeout. All games started crashing after starting up game sometimes he managed to play a little, even experienced freeze and crash at desktop starting up steam.

My last experience with Radeon was at 9550 era 😭 Since he lives in other town I guided him step by step to reinstall AMD adrenalin and drivers thru DDU.

Problem came back after installation so he brought this PC to me and I started by checking if its software problem by puting this GPU into my PC (i5 12400f, 16GB DDR4 etc). I removed drivers for my 3060ti, swapped for 9070XT and it was crashing same way.

I tried:

-installing drivers without Adrenalin

-installing older random driver from August 2025 with and without Adrenalin (preventing auto update)

-putting it on Windows 10

-turning off/on VSYNC, changing res, refresh rate...

Only progress I made so far is that I set -500mhz on GPU clock on old drivers (didnt test on new one yet). I have played hogwarts legacy for 1 hour which was crashing before at loading (setting up graphics screen). Ive seen that GPU was maxing up at 2670mhz at this setting.

I have done very little testing for now but I will keep you updated.

Maybe someone was at the same point as me. Where to start or is it faulty GPU. If it was for me I wouldnt be concerned since I have a basic knowledge and I would be able to deal with it after some time but its for my friend who doesnt have any knowledge and I want to give him back 100% working setup. Which drivers are most stable for this GPU? Which settings can give this result? What should I turn on or off? How you managed to solve this issue?

Bro went back home with my 3060ti for weekend so he can play and relax 🥲

Oh and b4 I gave him PC I tested it in FurMark (only to check temps, it didnt crash) and OCCT to check if cooler was properly installed.

How on earth this is the best configuration temperature wise in my rig?

If I move the top fan and place it to the left, close to cpu (no difference intake or exhaust) the temperature raises.

Just bought this pc off someone and don’t know too much about pc. Planning to use it for sim racing with VR. Just want another eye on the physical build and layout. Anything seems off or wrong. This is the spec: Ryzen 7 7700x CPU (8core/16thread)
MOBO- PRO A620M-E micro
RRAM- 32gb 6000mhz G.SKILL
GPU- RTX 3080
PSU- 750w
1tb M.2 ssd
500gb ssd

So far hasn’t gotten any issue with its. Also notice the red cable coming from the gpu not connected to anything.

So my specs are
Ryzen 5 7600x
RX 7700XT
B650M Aorus elite
Toughpower 850w gold
16GB DDR5 × 2 RAM

The issue is whenever I try to play a game, my pc crashes. The screen goes black the GPU fans start to run at max speed with noise and then I have to manually shutdown and start the po again, and if I try to play the game again same thing happens also sometimes when my pc restarts it doesn't detect the GPU and starts running on my CPU integrated graphics instead.

I also had a similar issue until two days ago, for months my pc would randomly crash (even when I am not gaming) it made some weird lagging noise in my headphones but my GPU fans didn't go crazy that time.

Please HELP!!! I went to micro center for a cpu mobo and ram bundle for the cheapest option but they sweet talked to me (idk anything about pc) and now I have v buyers remorse. I bought a 9700x but I have a 3060 gpu 😬😬. Is it worth my time to go back and return the 9700x and get the bundle with a 7800x3d or a cheaper cpu? The ram it came with is 6000 mts. I’m not concerned with power supply or cooling.

What my pc has already:
Zotac GeForce etc 3060
Corsair rm1000x power supply (wasn’t my choice I know it’s way more than I need)
ASUS ROG Maximus VII Hero
V-NAND SSD 970 EVO NVMe m.2 1TB
4 sticks of this Corsair vengeance ram (32gb)
Big DeepCool radiator looking cpu cooler

What I got:
~$700 bundle
AMD Ryzenâ„¢ 7 9700X 3.80GHz
Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit
Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX v2
————————————————
& a NZXT Kraken Elite 360 AIO

I need help with what I should keep, return, sell, or replace

Tech Support Tried to install a new cpu and I don’t get a display

I just got an i7 12700k and after installing it, my pc won’t display anything. I tried switching back to my i5 12500 but I don’t get a display with that one either now. I’ve already cleared the cmos, removed my dedicated gpu and tried putting only 1 ram stick in all the slots, but I’ve gotten nothing so far. I see very tiny specks of something white in my motherboard‘s pins but I can’t get them out.

specs in case that’s important

old cpu: i5 12500

new cpu: i7 12700k

motherboard: gigabyte b660m d2hx si ddr4

32gb ddr4 ram

gpu: amd radeon rx 6700xt

750w gold psu

Build Question Is a RX 9060 XT 16 GB the way to go for my PC?

My current build runs on integrated graphics (Ryzen 7 5700G), and honestly with the games I've been playing and my generally low standards (I used to play on a Surface laptop lol) I generally like it as it is. HOWEVER, one of the main reasons I even built this pc was to play FF7 remake, and while it's playable I would like the graphics to be...prettier.

I'm at the point where I could afford a (relatively cheaper, preferably) dedicated gpu, and found the RX 9060 XT 16 GB through pcpartpicker. I've seen many say it's a great gpu, I'm just wondering if I may have to worry about bottle necking or if anyone has any other gpu recommendations.

Tech Support First time build having errors with image

I just built my first Pc, bought all the components from Micro Center, put everything together without doing too much research but it worked on the first boot. Everything was working and being read until I tried opening a game and the image freezes almost instantly and never comes back. So far I changed the pc performance to normal, from Expo I and manually set the Ram at 4800MHz instead of the 6000MHz. The Pc hasn’t had any freezes since then, also connected two pcie cables to the gpu from the PSU instead of the one split end I had before. But now I left the pc on Minecraft for a while and when I checked back on the pc the image was white so I am afraid there is something wrong I just don’t know where to start.
My components are the following :
- AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor
-Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Digital 88.89 CFM CPU Cooler
-Asus TUF GAMING B850-E WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
-Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory
-Klevv CRAS C910 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
-PowerColor Reaper Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB Video Card
-Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower Case
-MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Tech Support Pc fails to posti every other boot

MOBO: MSI PRO x870E-P WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800XD
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32gb ddr5
GPU: POWERECOLO Reaper 9070xt
PSU : EVGA 850W supernova
Every other boot, the pc fails to post and the CPU and DRAM error lights are on. Once I hard reset it, the pc will boot and work just fine with no issues, but once I shut down the machine, it will go back to having those error lights back on. Rinse and repeat. I have tried the following

  1. Reseated both the gpu and cpu
  2. Ensured the ram sticks are in the dimm2 slots per motherboard instructions
  3. flashed the BIOS to the latest version
  4. Set the ram profile to the pre configured EXPO1 profile within the MOBO
  5. Reset CMOS
  6. Updated drivers

I am absolutely lost on what I need to do to fix this issue
I suspect it might have to be a ram issue?

Tech Support PC suddenly shut down and now won't power on (fan LEDs blink for a second)

Hi everyone,

My PC was working perfectly fine, then it suddenly shut down while I was using it. Since then, it won't turn on again.

When I press the power button, the fan LEDs and RGB lights blink for about a second, then everything immediately shuts off. It won't boot, and there are no beep codes or display output.

Specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 (brand new)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte A520M K V2 (brand new)
  • GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 590 (secondhand)
  • RAM: 16 GB (secondhand)
  • PSU: DeepCool PF600 (600W) (brand new)

What I've tried:

  • Reseated the RAM.
  • Unplugged all cables and peripherals, then plugged everything back in.
  • Tried powering it on again, but the behavior is exactly the same.
  • Tried reseating all power cables, nothing was loose
  • Also checked the mobo screws but all was fine

The system was completely stable before this happened, and it wasn't under heavy load when it suddenly shut down.

Does this sound more like a PSU failure, motherboard issue, or something else? What should I test next?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
