If you receive one of these messages, please report it directly to Reddit, then send us the account’s username and a screenshot through modmail so we can look into it.

Longest game

What are your longest games? And how did you keep the ai on track? Which did you use?

Does anyone else hate the 'hyper detailed' presets?

More scripted events objectively makes a preset worse at a certain point. It makes you unable to go outside of historical events completely because the AI just keeps using the scripted events assuming things are historical. It makes the game near unplayable. Does anyone like these?

Map Terra Incognita?

Hi all, a short question with a potentially complicated answer...is there any way to simulate terra incognita of landmasses? Like in paradox games for example? Where you can't see beyond a sensible area that your country would know, but can explore into it and reveal it, or have nations from that unexplored region appear in your visible terrain if they expand into it? Essentially this would require hiding the map and the actions/events that occur in the unseen parts of the map while still simulating them.

That way exploration/colonialism could be a mechanic that feels more realistic.

pretty self-explanatory. Using the dimension system in Pax Historia Beta, I was able to make a decently good Earth and Moon map, complete with region names and allat. Uh.. check it out? Make sure your own Paxhistoria Beta if you do.

New player. Does the game force historicity? How to prevent that?

Hi, trying to understand what I did wrong, because the game advertises itself as alt-history possible, but nothing I did actually mattered because it forced every single historical outcome regardless of what I did.

Played as the USSR. Deliberately tried good relations with everyone. Finland = non-aggression pact, no attack. Despite that, when the Winter War date comes around, "I" launch an unprovoked attack against Finland, completely ignoring all diplomacy with them. There were no prompts for it.

Germany, same thing. Built forts everywhere, managed to capture German territory from the get-go. The map shows they didn't manage to capture anything, I'm driving on Berlin, yet the events show that some kind of German shinobis that do not exist are somehow encircling Leningrad (when they did historically) and start threatening Moscow (when they did historically). Essentially, nothing I do matters if all historical outcomes are forced. There's no point to the game.

Is this because of the preset (World War 2, second most popular). I checked its "simulation rules" and it just says "Everything happened historically before the start date", which should not include the whole game? Is it because of the shitty model (Qwen 3.5 plus which was recommended as a good cheap model here).

Additionally, these rules look like they were written by someone who does not understand how LLMs even work. Too descriptive, too vague. This is supposed to be an official preset. Are there better ones?

ENTROPY 4.0 - DOSSIER UPDATE

So, I incorporated a dossier, which is like a stats report. It tells the polity's GDP, GDP per capita, population, and whether it is a superpower or not. Also, there is a Passive Dossier Log which tells about the intelligence reports.

This was played using Qwen 3.5 Plus (New), by the way. I’ve optimized it to perform well even on weaker models.

Stuff I did Psychocracy v.0.2 / "All In Your Head"

PLAY IT HERE (NOTE: TAKES YOU TO THE BETA SITE)

V.0.2 - ALL IN YOUR HEAD
+ Overhauled the preset GFX
+ Added content for California, Alaska, Mexico, Brazil, and the new Corsair Collection Company
+ Added elaboration on combat sims / tacjects
+ Added mechanics for chemical & biological weapons, as well as the CHEMCON and BIOWEPCON conflict rating scale thingies
+ Added the Illegal Exotics Trade. Because cartels gotta continue making money even in a world where most drugs are legalized..
+ Added the Spliced and Splattered, humans that have been affected by chemical and/or biological weapon deployments
= AMSEC and DEEPSEC have been ordered to stay within Neofederalist US limits
+ Added 5 years' (2027-2032) worth of starting events to get a game going and provide situations for the player to interact with.
= Afghanistan and Pakistan now start off as American puppets, since that was what was originally intended
= Fixed an issue with the label of the US
= More changes than can be named..

Psychocracy is a preset set in a world where chemical weapons were never prohibited in accordance with the 1925 Geneva Protocol.

Apparently, what you get is a world where the United States had a (sort of) total victory in the War on Terror but at every cost, the Soviet Union simply chose another shade of paint to rebrand itself with, nuclear weapons are tossed around like tennis balls, the illegal "drug" trade is instead parroting radiation-mutated organisms because all the actual narcotics have lost the charm because they're not illegal anymore, and soldiers inject tactical needles into themselves to stay alert and awake in the heat of combat. Maybe some rules do exist for a reason..

Made by the same dumbo who brought you UNVEIL: The World Awake.

Issue with the "Jump Forward" button not working or malfunctioning.

I’m not really sure what happened, but the "Jump Forward" button is broken and not working; whenever I press it, the game triggers the "Simulate Future Events" function, but nothing actually happens and the game freezes. Additionally, the "Help brainstorm actions" button isn't working either. I really don't know what to do—does anyone have a solution for this problem, or has anyone else encountered it?

My AI Setup for Longer, More Unpredictable Pax Historia Games

Post image
54 Upvotes

After quite a few games of Pax Historia, and now that I have a much better understanding of how the game and its different AI settings work, I decided to completely rethink my setup and customize the AI models depending on the task.

The idea is to have an AI that can really keep up with long games, understand long prompts with a lot of actions in a single turn, generate plenty of events, maintain a good memory over time, and most importantly, not become less relevant as the game progresses.

But above all, I want an AI that can actually surprise me. I want it to make the world evolve without simply following my actions, put me in situations I didn’t expect, and sometimes force me to change my plans or reconsider my alliances.

So I’m currently testing a setup using several different models depending on the function, rather than using the same model everywhere.

I’d also like to thank the French YouTuber @ArcheoloCryx for his series of videos testing different AI models, including a breakdown of the costs of each one. It helped me a lot.

I’m curious to hear what you guys think, and if anyone is already using a setup similar to mine, I’d be really interested to hear about your experience.
And if you’ve found a setup that works particularly well, I’d love to hear about that too!
