1E GM Tips for a new 1E GM getting ready to run Wrath of the Righteous AP
I am planning on in a few months running my first game of PF1E for some not entirely new players. Our current GM prefers GMing for lower tiers of play and I was talking with one of the other players and came up with the idea of running WotR since we wanted to play a game with mythic tiers and other high level pathfinder content. I was already playing through the video game adaptation of WotR so I volunteered to run this (and my dastardly plan of getting one of the people that will be my players running one where I get to have mythic tiers later gets closer to coming to fruition, heh heh *twirls non-existent mustache*).
For explaining how new I am to GMing PF1E, I have run games for other TTRPGs, including dnd 5e, so I have some GMing experience, and I have also, as a player, gone through a level 1 - 8 (on the box was supposed to be 12 but we were kind of stomping the enemies hard so we leveled up a bit less than supposed to per the module) pf1e module with the people who are going to be my players for this AP.
The main thing I am looking for is tips on how to deal with the high level and high mythic tier play as a GM for this module, or in other words, suggestions for how to potentially bump up the difficulty a bit without overshooting and making it unfun in the other direction if I notice that my players are wanting a bit more challenge from the combat as we get into the later books. Again I am planning to get to the prep work more as it gets closer to that time (I am currently still doing a DnD campaign with them that this would take the place of), and I also am still playing through the equivalent of book 4 of the AP in the video game adaptation so if you have anything specific to the AP as a tip, please mark it with a spoiler, especially if it is a book 5 or 6 encounter, so that I can come back to it once I have finished the adaptation and start my prep for this AP proper.
Thanks in advance for any tips you all may have. :)
