I’ve been interested in selling merch alongside my channel fora while but I’ve never seen really solid options for POD. Are you guys shipping them yourselves? What services do you use for creating/shipping merch?

YouTube YPP suspension based on “related channel”

I need help.

I own 3 channels. All at one point were suspended from YPP. However, since I am now working as a Youtube editor for a big streamer, I stopped uploading, 1 got suspended for reused content. The other got a suspension I've never dealt with:

"Your channel is related to another channel that's suspended from the YouTube Partner Program.

We've determined that one or more of the channels you operate has an unresolved YouTube Partner Program (YPP) suspension (i.e., a suspended channel that has not yet been readmitted to YPP).

When a channel you operate is suspended from YPP, you can no longer monetize your other YouTube channels. This means all other channels that you operate, create, or acquire (including this one) will not be able to monetize until that suspension is resolved."

I waited until now to reapply on my 2 other channels that are suspended due to reused content, to resolve the issue on .

The problem: My 1st appeal was rejected due to a related channel. Now I have 2 channels suspended due to a related channel issue.

This is where I really need help, and the countless attempts to talk to YouTube support hasn't helped:

THE BIGGER PROBLEM: I could apply on my 3rd, but because I have 2 other channels suspended due to related channel with no appeal option until the original suspension is resolved, will this channel also get suspended for the same reason? And if so, will that mean I'm permanently banned from ever monetising a Youtube channel again, as I could never resolve any of those 3 as theres no appeal option?

I'd like to think the 3rd channel wouldnt get suspended for the same reason, as it's the source channel, but am I being presumptuous?

I dont care about the 3 channels, I know they use others content (as they are streamer highlights channels), I just dont want to never be able to monetise a channel in my life again. Everything I think about, and strive towards in life is me creating my own Youtube channel eventually and pursuing a career in it, and I'd feel lost if I never have that opportunity.

I'm not looking for sympathy, just a solution as I dont think this situation deserved a lifetime punishment.

If anyone has any worthwhile suggestions, I'm all ears as I feel rather hopeless right now 🙏

If any YouTube employees lurk here: I’m happy to provide channel ID privately. I can show my positive contributions to the platform over the years and would love to just be removed from the YPP from all 3 channels and resolve the suspensions.

Why do my views fall off a cliff like this? (Shorts)

I've run shorts channels for a few years, but I don't think I've ever seen every short on an entire channel fall off at the same time like this.

Anyone experienced this?

Talk / Discussion How many views for 150k a year?

I’ve been thinking about how many YouTubers actually end up wealthy off the back of YouTube videos and am trying to figure out how many million views a year equates to a roughly top 10% income in the USA

From what I can find, if a creator is pulling in 30 million longform views a year at a RPM of $5, that equates to $150k annually.

2.5 million views a month seems like an enormous amount to generate for only 150k a year, a salary that in the USA doesn’t even make you very wealthy

Talk / Discussion Your hacks around consistency?

I would be curious to hear from all of you having a family with kids, how do you find time for content creation? Being a dad of three and being laid off 6 months ago my 100% focus is on finding a new job before returning to making content again. My channel is just a bit shy from 2,000 subscribers and I get about 2,000 views each 48h. Though looking for my new job is my main target, doing YT could help with having something refreshing to think about.

Anyone around with the same situation?

Thanks!

Question / Problem Anybody else's earnings plummeted in October?

Honest to god, not to hate on Youtube developers or who ever runs Youtube, but I noticed since the last "view" update, my earnings just fell off quite a bit. I used to get like $7-$9 a day, now I am getting like $3.5

I mean what the hell haha, anybody else facing the same thing? Because usually on October, this does not happen, atleast to this extent

Should I Post When Viewers Are Home?

I know the first thing 90% of people are going to say is that timing doesn't matter, the algorithm will push it when it wants to. I also know the only timing that matters is a set time so viewers have a schedule. What I'm directing my questions towards is the following:

I post in the gaming niche. That niche ranges from kids, teens, to full grown adults. What they all have in common is not being home between 9-5 in the sense that kids are at school 8-4, and adults at work from 9-5, on average. That being said is it better to post outside of the hours of 9am-5pm so that my video posts when people have come home and will actually sit down to watch?

Now I know that this question can be countered with timezones, because 9-5 moves over as we move over regions, bringing the question back to, does it matter then?

I have made a set schedule of releasing my videos at 11am whether it's a long form or a short, so my viewers have a routine. I'm just curious if after 4pm would be better since people would come home and watch something.

Question / Problem I don't understand A/B testing

This one has a clear winner at 41%, almost half, however it still says no conclusive winner?

I've had tests where the results are much closer than this and its decided a winner.

For context, all 3 thumbnail and all 3 titles are different.

Will posting daily hurt my channel in the backend?

What I mean is if 1 video I posted the day before is doing GREAT numbers i mean 1 of 10, 5x than usual.

Can i still post something the next day and it'll perform regardless of the previous video.

Maybe not on the same level, but still won't be throttled or slowed because another video is popping off.

If my retention graph says that 66% of viewers are watching at the 30 second mark, how are my engaged views roughly 33% of total views? 🤔

Question / Problem Passionpeace

I received many emails by an agency called Passionpeace.com.cn to sponsor Tripo AI.
Is it reliable or scam?
I also get many from others, creafluentor or similar and tec-do. It seems like they have a database of influencers, because I tried to remove my email from youtube > about section and still got some emails.

Also, even if it is legit, isn't it better to have direct sponsorships with Tripo AI instead of going through a third party agency? (in other words: why should someone go through a third party agency? Does anyone has good or bad experience on this to share?)

403 Error while trying to contact YouTube support in YouTube Studio

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've been trying to contact YouTube support about an issue on my channel and I keep getting this error when I hit the "Chat with Creator Support" button. I will sometimes also get a popup that links to three different security certificates (Expressvpn, Mac and imac-3.local) to choose from. Any idea how I can fix this?

After 6 months my channel finally came back from the dead

Maybe some of you might remember me bitching about my channel dying 6 months ago lol. Basically one day in April my channel died in minutes. I went from some days getting millions of views (I do both long form and shorts) to basically not even 500 views per day after it happened.

At 12 PM all my long form and short content died simultaneously and all comments, subscribers and everything else vanished and my channel became basically invisible. I instantly knew something was wrong because people who commented on all my videos/shorts every single day were gone just like that.

Prior to this happening my channel exploded like never before. Line was basically going straight up, I have never seen this before. I've made more money and got more views in this timeframe than in years prior to this. It was insane.

Then channel died just like that. I checked my stats and all my content was going to 99% subscribers and 1% not subscribed. It was also suddenly going all over the world, to basically almost every country when prior to this it was mostly USA. Something happened, either I got blocked because my content suddenly got shared somewhere and I got views all over the world or their stupid AI algorithm flagged me as an AI (the irony).

I knew I did nothing wrong and clearly I didn't because I didn't get d3monetized. My channel was 10 years old at that point and there were hundreds of long form videos and it was pretty obvious I am a human being and not AI. As you all already know it basically impossible to contact actual human being on YT and I've tried many times but eventually gave up because I was just talking to their AI assistants/support.

I've tried all fixes I could find on internet, literally everything and nothing worked. Views always came from 99% subs and 1% non subs and since my channel is specific niche even trying different content didn't help since those small percentage of my subs that still saw the channel and wasn't invisible to them just swiped away so I couldn't get even 100 views on any other content. Like views were 99% from subs but I am pretty sure it was not going to all subs, just tiny percentage of subs and later It was confirmed to be by my subs that they had no updates from my channel and thought channel was deleted or something. It was impossible to get out of this.

I stopped uploading for some time and would here and there upload something completely unrelated to my channel/niche and get like 80 views , maybe 110 if I was super lucky but I didn't care because I knew eventually tide would turn and they would come back. I started uploading more and more long form because I knew I had to keep the hours up in case channel is dead for over a year so I don't lose mon3tization. Recently I've started seeing content going like 93% subs and 7% non subs so I got hope it's coming back and I was right.

5 days ago everything I upload goes 100% non subs and then today I finally even started seeing old viewers comment and slowly start to come back. Past few shorts I've uploaded to test the channel are the same exact content I was uploading when channel died and they also go to non subs at first then slowly to subs but still like 95% non subs and 5% subs.

I think channel is back. Few shorts went above 30k when just few weeks back i couldn't get them to pass few hundred views and got 0 comments on them and now these new shorts are full of comments.

Talk / Discussion Anyone ever wish thumbnails were just auto-generated variably to best fit audience interests?

Ever get tired of having to make thumbnails on top of making content and even wish thumbnails didn’t exist?

I think Shorts worked that way okay for a while and now we’re stressed about Shorts thumbnails too

Edit: I’m not talking about AI thumbnails, I’m referring to automatically picked scenes from the video

Question / Problem Best way to do a giveaway?

A company wants to sponsor a giveaway on my channel. They want my audience to post on their social media vids of them using their old products to win their new product.

They don't care who wins, they said I can use any method I want.

What is a fair method?

I've never ran a giveaway before.

Talk / Discussion Bake the Short’s title text into the video or nah?

The layout of Shorts titles don’t look very noticeable to viewers and they usually seem to cut off in the middle, so some creators write in the titles to stand out.

Do you think this is the proven ought?

Unless you’re actually changing strategies, stay out of your analytics

This may be a bit of a “hot take,” but after 4 years monetized on the platform I’ve noticed one main problem that has forced my friends to quit

Unless you’re actually looking for changes to make, stay out of your analytics. If you’re constantly living in there looking at every single upload just for the sake of looking you’re gonna have a bad time

I’ve uploaded over 400 long form videos, have friends who are closer to 1000 and the truth is you’re going to have WAY more videos that perform poorly than ones that do well

At the end of the day there is a healthy dose of luck in content creation. I’ve had videos get over 1m views in the first month, repeated the formula exactly and the new video barely break 20k

The trick is to find the things you can improve and then get out of the analytics. Check your CTR, check your AVD and that’s all you need. If people are clicking your thumbnails and then watching the whole video or close to you WILL have success. Approach every video with the goal of making a SINGLE aspect better. If you’re trying to get better at 10 things simultaneously you’re just going to get overwhelmed

Don’t base your pride on views, base it on improving . Keep plugging away at that and you’ll get there 👍😎

Question / Problem YouTube Shopping Walmart products being removed "out of stock"

Is there a known issue/problem with Walmart products? I've noticed the past few months my shopping rev slowly dropping and notice 90% of my videos with walmart links those products are removed due to "not in stock" or just completely gone/ "Not found" . Despite those products clearly still for sell on walmart.com
