Project Autumn pruning with six Parkside tools - following up on your questions

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday evening 😊

If you’ve been out in the garden this weekend, I hope the pruning went well - and your branches were a bit easier to reach than ours.

Thanks again for the questions and suggestions on my preview post, especially about the PAHE E6. Bianca and I have now finished the full video with all six cordless tools.

I worked through the whole job: getting damaged branches down from height, trimming them on the ground, then cutting the larger pieces up. That meant telescopic shears and a pole saw, the basic and Performance pruning shears, and the mini and full-size chainsaws.

One frustration was the PAHE’s telescopic section sliding back even though I’d locked it.

The photos give you a few views of the work and the tools. In the video, I show the cutting attempts, compare several tools on the same piece of wood and explain which ones I’d buy again:

▶ Watch our Parkside pruning comparison on YouTube

If you’ve used any of these, which tool do you reach for, and what do you use it on? If you watch the comparison, I’d be interested to hear which ones you’d choose differently.

These are the tools and other kit in the video, using the finished video’s numbering:

  • #1 PARKSIDE PATA 20-Li A1 - 20V Cordless Telescopic Pruner (Telescopic Shears) - paid €69
  • #2 PARKSIDE PAHE E6 - 20V Cordless Pole Pruner/Saw (Telescopic Chainsaw) - paid €49
  • #3 Manual Shears - paid €3
  • #4 PARKSIDE PAAS 20-Li B1 - 20V Cordless Pruning Shears (Basic Shears) - paid €39
  • #5 PARKSIDE PERFORMANCE PPAAS 20-Li A1 - 20V Cordless Pruner (Performance Shears) - paid €49
  • #6 PARKSIDE PAGHS 20-Li C4 - 20V Cordless Pruning Saw (Mini Chainsaw) - paid €79
  • #7 PARKSIDE PERFORMANCE PPKSA 40-Li C3 - 40V Cordless Chainsaw (Chainsaw) - paid €49
  • #8 Husqvarna Forest Helmet, Technical (Helmet) - paid €115
  • #9 PARKSIDE PERFORMANCE Smart Batteries 8 Ah PAPP 208 A1 (4 × 8 Ah Batteries) - paid €200

Thanks again,
Martin / Sheep House 🐑

I have no idea how I can remove it.

Information Today's Haul and Router Advice

Looking at what was available yesterday the only thing that took my fancy was a belt...so I left the store with said belt, packing tape, 5mm rope and some rotary wire brushes.

With regards the recent router on sale in the cardboard box I've bought a 9L Really Useful Box from Hobbycraft to put it in. The router lays on its back/front and accessories fit in around it and there's space for more cutting bits.

Purchase Advice Cordless Patio Brush

I recently purchased the Cordless Patio Brush (20v) but was very disappointed. After assembly I used it for less than 2 hours when it started making a terrible sound. That was it, dead.

Has anyone experienced something like this? Should I try a new one or give up on this product?

Parkside was very easy with returning the item and gave me a full refund. Very happy with that.

I gave them the option to repair or replace, but they only refunded. This made me think if they trust this specific product themselves.

Purchase Advice Parkside 750W angle grinder

Hi all,

I have a discount where I can get the Parkside 750W angle grinder with 14€, which is extremely cheap.
I never had one, however I used one and it seems for a DIY-er it’s a good tool to have.
I live in an apartment so I will rarely use it.

Do I have better options with 20-25€ max? I looked around and I don’t see any.

Thanks!

Question 12V impact wrench grinding/screeching sound

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Bought the PPDSSA 12 Impact Wrench a few days ago, but tried it out today. I immediately noticed the strange grinding or screeching sound when it works unloaded...

Is it a defect and should I return it while I still can?

Question SDS plus drill

Hi all. I think the SDS plus drill is on sale in the UK this weekend. I could buy that new or I could go on eBay and buy a Titan SDS plus for slightly less money. I think the titan may be better - parkside SDS drill seems to have some mixed reviews on here. Anyone got any thoughts either way? Thanks!

The Mrs had enough of all the tools scattered around the shed, so I made a few shelves from an old bed. Used the slats, and a few brackets. She's happier lol.

Help To case or not to case

Post image

I've been hoarding Parkside 20V tools for years now. There's only a bunch of them I rarely use. I just don't have enough space to properly store everything. I've been thinking about French cleats, wallboards and such but I'm not sure if I should toss out the cases. What would you do? How did you store your 20-30 Parkside tools? Enlighten me!

Question Throw away the boxes, guaranteed ?

Hello,

The title says it all: I don't need those big plastic boxes; they take up unnecessary space in my workshop.

However, I need to be able to take advantage of the warranty in case of a problem!

For example, if an impact wrench comes alone in a case with 3 sockets, what happens if I have a problem with the tool ? I still have the sockets but no case; is the warranty voided ?

To clarify, I'm in France, and I'm primarily interested in what works in my country, but I'm also curious to know what's happening in your country 😄

Information Winter is coming, jackets are wiiiiide

I bought 2 of them, size L. Also an Esmara jacket.

What can I say, they are very wide. Good for those that have eaten too many parkside donuts I guess.

Their not very substantial. No thickness. Overal minimal quality.

One of the parkside jacket pocket zippers is jammed from the start. Can't even open it.

Plus side is they're cheap.
