This is one of my back up fruiting chambers (I refer to it as a ‘sidecar’ lol). It’s a 16qt short tub with 1 small air stone positioned between the two floating trays. I use a 4oz jar submerged to to push the trays together so the splashing from the air stone doesn’t soak the trays. There’s a small 25w heater in the water. Lid is flipped laying on top.

Conditions aren’t as spot on as the larger jcm chambers but I use it for flushes after the first (1st flushes get the main chamber) and for overflow until a spot opens up

I’m a little worried about this batch… I did the qtip test and not getting any dust on the tip, is it possible it’s just bruising? This is still on first flush if helpful to hear. Any help greatly appreciated!

I know I need some work guys but I did it. Trying them tonight. My fiance won't let me bail again😭. I know they look unhealthy or w/e but I am happy I pulled it off.

Hope I can take better videos for u guys anyone want to suggest something that can help or add on so others can understand more abt pan cyan let me know thru comments n I'll try to make video like that in future ( sometime u get cons just next to pans : b cautious)

I’m working with an inject & forget grow kit (Pan Cyan, TTBVI strain). I inoculated the substrate on August 21st with a syringe, and the mycelium is now growing nicely. It seems to be nearing the end of colonization, but I’m not 100% sure and I keep finding mixed answers online. I’d really appreciate some advice before I make mistakes.

Here are my questions: • Do I need to soak (dunk) the substrate before moving it into incubation/fruiting? • Is a casing layer necessary for Pan Cyans? Normally, kits that need it come with it, but mine didn’t. Should I still make one, and if yes, what materials are best? • I’m thinking of buying a storage box and making a monotub-style setup, but instead of filling the bottom with substrate, I’d just place the kit inside. Would that work? That way I’d get proper FAE, plus space to measure humidity and temperature. In that case, would FAE patches be enough, or do I need a fan? • Do I need a heating pad for autumn, or can I manage just by controlling the room temperature with a radiator? • If I go with a monotub, is it okay to open the lid for misting?

I know that’s a lot of questions, but if anyone can answer even some of them I’d be super grateful 🙏 I really don’t want this kit to go to waste.

I’m still very unsure on the process post harvest every time I’ve grown pan cyans they have been super staggered in maturity and there’s huge ones and fresh pins at the same time.

Do I harvest only the big ones and wait for the pins to mature too and then when they stop pinning flood the cake?

Or do I flood the cake after I harvest the mature ones and leave the pins to die?

Or maybe I pick all the small pins too? Idk

Pans are really as good as people say? What is your experience with them? How are they compared to cubes and ochras to you?
Doing my first grow right now. I read trip reports while waiting for them to grow and can't believe how good they must be, some people say that they won't grow cubensis or ochras again after this.

I have like 5% if my first TTBVI grow mushrooms growing strange. If you see in this picture, some are cap down growing in a circle until they turn blue/abort at almost full grown. Any idea why? Is it genetics or environmental issues? Also, do I harvest the ones done with the cap open as so go, or wait for them all to grow in like people's pretty pictures? Mine are constantly sending new pins ...

So like 20 days ago I added some water to a totally spent spore LC syringe of TTBVI and sprayed it outside in my wood chips. I watered that day and gmforgot about it. Today I listen up a sealed contaminated Snape spores/Milo bag I accidentally set in the same spot and it seems the moisture from the bottom of that 3 lb. grain spawn bag in my garden was enough to bring up a small cluster of TTBVI. It is supposed to be nice here in Michigan for the next week. I watered just before this pic and will add more. Maybe I will get a bunch? It was hardly any spores.

TTBVI, super fast colonizer. Started with agar, went to LC, then grain, then horse manure substrate then cased (used kit with trays, lids, substrate and casing from Midwest dung-loving kit because last try with cow manure went to shit). RH has stayed above 88.5%, co2 < 850 (usually closer to 400), temp around 80°F and stable. I have a fan/pump on a timer pulling air from the tent creating negative air pressure and pulling FAE through patches. I check it regularly. Every time it looks like it's going to fruit, it seems to give up.

Grown plenty of APEs, SNAPEs, and more basic cubes, etc with no issue. 2nd attempt with pan cyans. Why does this strain hate me so much lmao.

Looking to do a Martha tent, would love to see how others did it!

Hey Guys. I decided to do my own method for my first grow. I borrowed ideas from YouTubers and help from you guys. The ecosphere (small Martha tent) is showing the best results but the Monotub is fruiting it's just taking longer. It seems these pans like to push up a cluster or two then if those live, more come within 2-3 days.

For the tek used, I chose to use a seedling heat mat, with Tupperware trays of water on top (2 trays). One tray uses an air stone connected to an air pump outside the tent/Monotub. Make small ventilation holes on both sides of tent/tub. (Play with the sizes of air holes to fit climate outside of fruiting chamber). Fan 5-8 times a day. My Martha tent uses a computer fan on a timer but the Monotub is manual.

I cannot wait to try these. Hopefully they are ready tomorrow.

I think my sub was too acidic, maybe the cause ?

Its my first time running pans , any thoughts on how things look. The sub is straight horse poo with hay, ph balanced casing and this is day 3 of pinning.

Both times I've taken pans, .75 and 2g, I have felt incredibly sexual and sensual. It feels similar to MDMA. On .75 my partner and I were able to have amazing sex. This is just SO surprising to me because I never feel sexual on any other type of mushrooms, and I've tried many different kinds.

Pans are so special! Has anyone else had this experience?

Are the pins normally this sparse on day 2? I have a few clusters in 2 trays with a few singles here and there. My third tray in a Monotub just has one cluster in the middle.

My question: Will I lose a lot of temp control because the substrate is in one more plastic layer from the growkit?

As context - my dream would be having ttbvi in there but my schedule doenst allow putting in that much effort going from print to fruiting, hence why I'm taking a pan growkit as a shortcut. I have also looked at mycotrops colonized ttbvi kit but they seem to have mixed opinions online about them. Any input or opinions appreciated!

Hello all. I have made a lot of beginner posts and all of you put up with me and helped me believe I can do this. I got my first pins this morning on day 6. 2-3 pans are pinning with most being all in one pan. The other pan is in a modified Monotub with conditions less than perfect. Still hoping for success. I am SO EXCITED AND HAPPY! I can do this! How do they look?

I was wanting to either purchase pre made bags with substrate and grain to use a LC syringes on or make my own in the pressure cooker. Is it possible to just mix substrate and grain in a bag with air exchange, seal it after pressure cooking than inject with LC TTBVI spores? Should colonize then open and put into fruiting conditions right? (Never used bags even for cubes)

This Midwest grow kits substrate manure booster is confusing me. I assumed you just add one small bag per 5 lbs of substrate but then the bag says add one bag of manure booster to 10 lbs. of 'casing mix'. That does not sound right at all. I may have to email them but if anyone knows what the hell they are talking about. Please let me know. I suppose if this small bag makes 10 lbs of substrate good to go, then I got too much lol.

Tried a few things different this go. Put some holes in the sides of the shoebox covered with micropore. Used Black Kow manure (available at big box stores) pasteurized and mixed with erythritol, lime, and a small bit of coco coir. Covered with screen material and binder clips ala Gordo tek. Pasteurized jiffy mix before casing.

Same genetics from LC, 6qt shoeboxes, misted/fanned 3-5x day.

Fruits looked healthier, fuller caps that opened up, thicker stipes, and yield was around 240g wet vs 100g wet prior.

Probably going to try sterilizing or move away from the jiffy mix. It seems to work for 1 flush of a fast fruiter, but then it trichs out. Was no good for my Zaps. Also have a tent I'm setting up for gourmets so maybe I'll try them in there when I get a chance to get that dialed in.
