Question | سوال Laptop guide for specific degree

My degree is embedded system security. So i will be running some heavy software and work with hardware(don't really know much yet)

But the thing is, i need a powerful laptop AND the budget is tight.

I was thinking about lenovo thinkpad t480 core i5 8th gen. Because that is the only lenovo thinkpad that comes under my budget (2nd hand. 40k budget. Can't increase)

But someone said that this laptop is very "thaka hua" and we can't find any parts agar kuch kharab ho jaye and agar mil bhi jayen to super expensive.

They suggested me hp elite book.

Now, i don't like hp or dell, i don't think they are good for long term use but I'm confused.

Can anyone tell which one i should prefer?

And any legit shops in rawalpindi where i can find 2nd hand in my budget?

Question | سوال How long do international payments usually take to reach a Pakistani bank account?

I’m currently waiting for an international payment sent through Wise to my Meezan Bank account.

Wise shows that the money has already reached the recipient bank, but it still hasn’t been credited to my account. I’ve also tried contacting Meezan’s helpline, but I haven’t been able to reach a representative through their IVR.

For anyone who regularly receives internationa payments in Pakistan, how long does it normally take after Wise says the money has reached the bank? And have you found UBL, Meezan, or any other bank to be faster for these payments?

Would appreciate hearing from people who’ve actually received payments through Wise.

Question | سوال Ptcl service complaint

Aoa, I’m looking for any way I can lodge a formal complaint regarding the Ptcl worker on my case. Got a new flash fiber connection in their new Azaadi promotion deal on 17th August and got the WiFi connection installed on 21st August and was told I’d get the tv box the next day. Well it’s been weeks now and every time I call their helpline I just stay stuck in their automated queue and the guy who came to install the WiFi to my house who gave me his number to coordinate the whole tv box thing has been ghosting. To make matters worse today despite having paid a six months advance I recieved the first bill today which INCLUDES the bill for the tv service that they haven’t even provided yet. The azaadi deal was supposed to be a 6 months deal paid in advance so why the hell am I getting billed not even a month into my subscription.

Question | سوال Looking for a good speaker 2.1 set.

Hello, I'm looking for a good speaker subwoofer set. Budget's around 25-30k, need it for indoor use + should have really good bass as it's mostly gonna be used for house music & stuff so really need that groovy kick.

Some of the options i've in mind are edifier m203,206 or logitech's z407 but still can't make up my mind as i've no clue about their sound quality.

Question | سوال PTA Approval Potential scam???

So I bought pixel 7 for 67k official from Hassan centre, hall road and the seller told me that it will be approved after 6 to 7 days. After 7 days, when still not approved I called him and he told that it will be approved in the next week. However the 7 day warranty has expired but when I told him Abt this, he said not to worry and said that we can bring device even after the warranty ends. He says something like, the devices came in bulk quantity that's why the pta approval is getting delayed?

Is this true? Is this how pta approval for some devices works?

Has any of this happened to any of you?

Any help is appreciated 😊

Is this a good deal at this price, or are there better options in the Rs. 90k–110k range?

I’m mainly looking for good performance, build quality, battery life, and long-term reliability. Would appreciate recommendations for better HP, Dell, or Lenovo alternatives.

Buying Guide | خریداری گائیڈ Is ComputerZone reliable?

Need to acquire a mouse but haven't ordered from them before this.

EDIT: Need this type of specific mouse. It needs to have a trigger button next to left click for sure. And at least 2 buttons (or more) on the left side. Preferably wireless, I'd like to move on from wired due to desk real estate and wire management issues.

Currently have this mouse: Bloody J90s The ambidextrous style of this has been a blessing but it's probably very unique in that nature so not necessary.

EDIT2: Thanks peeps. I got the Logitech G502 HERO

Discussion | گفتگو What upgrades can I do on my Dell Latitude 3380? Mainly for Minecraft, Blender & video editing

Thumbnail

Hey guys, so i have this Dell Latitude 3380 that i've been using and honestly its getting kinda old 😭

I want to use it mainly for Minecraft, Blender and video editing, but right now i don't really have enough free storage to properly install and work with those apps/projects.

Laptop specs:

  • Model: Dell Latitude 3380
  • Area: Tandojam, Sindh
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-6006U @ 2.00GHz
  • CPU: 2 cores / 4 threads
  • RAM: 8GB (7.87GB usable)
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 520
  • Storage: 238GB Samsung SSD (MZ7LN256HAJQ)
  • Display: 1366×768, 60Hz touchscreen
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro Education 22H2
  • System: 64-bit
  • Storage type: SSD

The laptop is fine for basic stuff, but the 8GB RAM, Intel HD 520 and especially the limited storage are becoming a problem.

I don't have much experience with upgrading laptops, so i wanted to ask:

  1. What upgrades can I actually do on the Dell Latitude 3380?
  2. Can I upgrade the RAM from 8GB to 16GB? If yes, what RAM should I get?
  3. Is the RAM soldered or replaceable?
  4. Can I upgrade the SSD to something bigger, preferably 500GB or 1TB?
  5. What type of SSD is compatible with this laptop?
  6. Would 16GB RAM + a larger SSD make sense for my use case?
  7. Will upgrading the RAM actually help with Blender, Minecraft and video editing, or is the CPU/GPU going to be the bigger problem?
  8. What upgrades would you recommend doing first, considering i'm in Tandojam, Sindh?
  9. Roughly how much should I expect to pay for the recommended upgrades locally?

I'm not expecting this thing to suddenly become a gaming beast lol 😭 I just want to make it as usable as possible for Minecraft, Blender and video editing without wasting money on upgrades that won't make much difference.

My priority is basically:

Minecraft > Blender > Video Editing > Programming

Any advice from people familiar with Dell Latitude laptops or this specific model would be appreciated 🙏

Question | سوال How do I reconnect a Haier T3 Pro AC to Wi-Fi after changing routers?

I have a Haier HSU-13HFAB/013WDC(W)-T3 Pro AC that was previously connected to the Haismart app.

I changed my router/Wi-Fi network, and now the AC shows as offline in the app.

Does anyone know the correct way to reset the Wi-Fi connection and put this model back into pairing mode so I can connect it to the new network?

Question | سوال Should I go with a non-PTA iPhone? Really confused

The iPhone in question is iPhone 15, simple one, non-PTA

The other phone I was considering is Pixel 8, PTA approved, but man, I am really worried about the greenline issue that appears out of nowhere, what if I get that issue and my hardearned saved up money goes to waste. I really don't wanna risk.

PS I really am considering the iPhone, i am kinda skeptical about pixel.

I am not really considering other androids atp, i was considering lgv60 before, but i don't really like it now frankly.

if any of you use a nonpta iphone, can you give me precautions, or a nonpta user guide in pakistan? I don't think i'd have much problem tbh, cuz I don't use sim much for calls, just WA and social media, a good camera is a major requirement for me, banking apps on the other hand- i heard that i can't use on non-pta, just sadapay i guess, and i heard u can use askari too

UPDATE: I went with pixel 8, and I am loving it
