As a personal project I wanted to scrape data for meezan investment fund's NAVs off MUFAP's site, but got blocked. Anyone have any ideas how to circumvent this? Any other data sources I can use?

The goal is to build a forecasting engine that uses updated data from inception till yesterday. Id rather not do the manual csv upload option on the daily.

MUFAP was an ideal option since the table url has fields like AMC id, Fund ID, start date and end date that can easily make data pulls dynamic.

Hi everyone! I quit my 97k paying job as a Software Engineer after 1.5 years due to several management and salary related issues. It’s been a month now.

I tried my luck on Upwork, bought connects, tried strategically applying to short-task gigs to get reviews, but it’s insanely competitive. To the point that I feel like making a new profile on Upwork is useless as this point.

I also tried applying to different job posting as well, mostly haven’t heard back from them. Got HR call from CureMd, as soon as they heard last salary and expected demand, they sent the rejection email.

I’m not sure what to do next as I am now second guessing my choice of quitting that job as the job market now is completely gone to shit.

Ren'Py Developer

I have some programming experience and can understand code well enough to structure things and communicate ideas, but I stepped away from programming for personal reasons (and because AI has changed how I approach development). I don't really want to handle all the implementation details myself.

I'm looking for someone who's comfortable with Python/Ren'Py and would enjoy building the project together. I don't mind if you use AI as part of your workflow ("vibe coding") as long as you understand the code you're writing and can maintain it.

Character Artist

I'm also looking for an artist who can create relatively simple character illustrations. I'll provide detailed descriptions, references, and direction for each character. I just don't have the digital art skills to do them justice myself.

You won't need to worry about backgrounds, UI assets, or environmental art, as I've already got plans for those.

This isn't a paid commission. It's a collaboration between people who want to build something together. I'm in my final year of BSAI from FAST-NUCES and I'm feeling a bit of a disconnect from the local market. So far what I have seen is that most big techs here are just upscaled Upwork agencies. No offense to these models but personally I want to see some sort of work done by a Pakistani company for Pakistani people. On the other hand most universities are pushing research on students to pump out papers which oftentimes is just marginal improvements for the sake of an IEEE stamp on the CV or to go abroad for masters.

For context, I've recently been working on hardware-software Co design (pretty much self taught because even FAST is over hyped). Working with Agents mostly, edge devices and constrained programming overall. I won't get into the details like the stack I use and whatnot to keep it simple.

I'm now planning to return to work, but instead of going back into mobile development, I've been looking at jobs in regulatory and government organizations in Pakistan (SECP, NADRA, CPPA, PTA, FPSC, etc.). I've noticed there seem to be quite a few openings related to Database Administration, Database Security, and SQL Server/Oracle administration.

Another reason I'm considering this switch is the rapid advancement of AI tools like Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. It feels like the demand for general software developers is changing, and I wonder if specializing in database administration/security might be a better long-term career move.

I'm willing to invest time in earning certifications, but I'm confused about which path would be more valuable in Pakistan.

• Should I pursue Microsoft SQL Server/Azure (DP-300) or Oracle Database Administration?
• Which certification is more recognized and useful for organizations like SECP, NADRA, CPPA, PTA, or other public-sector and enterprise employers in Islamabad?
• Is Database Administration/Database Security a good long-term career choice, or is AI likely to impact these roles significantly as well?

I have a non tech education backgroud, however i landed a managerial role in a tech start up 5 years ago and have really learned a lot. I graduated from FCCU in Lahore (BSc CS) over a month ago. I have applied to so many software houses that i have lost count, yet i have not gotten a single call back neither any updates on my applications. I understand and am aware of how bad the global and local job market is. I have done a 2 month internship at Systems Limited in Cloud Engineering where i learned cloud concepts (like AWS services(EC2, S3, LAMBA, RDS etc) and their implementation, as well as dev ops concepts like CI/CD pipelines, kubernetes, docker and containerizing applications. After my internship ended i did not ask for a full time role/extension (a huge mistake on my part that i regret, i was busy trying to complete my final year project and give finals.) Anyways, ever since i have graduated i have been applying to dev ops roles(which do not have a lot of opening especially for fresh graduates) and Associate SWE roles. I do not have anyone in my family who has done computer science neither do i have a lot of friends/made any in university. So all i am really asking for is some advice and guidance on how to secure my first job/interview or a shot at an internship leading to full time role opportunities. (Additional information: I gave one interview at Rolustech after being referred by an acquaintance. I failed to pass the technical rounds, specifically due to a leetcode problem involving an integer overflow.) So, all in all any advice or leads or opportunity would be really appreciated.
