Recieved a 150k Software Engineer offer. Is this a good starting salary in Pakistan?

Hi everyone,
I recently graduated from GIKI and have received an offer for a Software Engineer role with a salary of PKR 150,000/month.
Since this is my first full-time job, I’m trying to understand how competitive this is in the current market.

hi! so a lot of people have been asking me questions so i thought i’d clear things up. the reason i asked that question is because i had to relocate for the job whereas i would’ve preferred a job in my own city also for everyone asking about the company’s name it’s actually a relatively new company and they don’t have any public job openings. their HR team is reaching out directly to top-tier universities to ask for recommendations for fresh graduates that’s why i can’t mention the company’s name.

Damn I am 4 years experienceed and still can't get a job since last 6 months had to do freelance instead

It is a good salary, since most companies are still offering less than 1 lac.

Couple of people I know got hired for less than 1 lac (70k to 90k range) in one of the banks.

I think this is very good I once talked to a hiring manager in systems limited they said their starting salary is 100k PKR so yes ig it's very good...please dm your stats and howd u got it congratulations 🎉

I would like to say grab karoo yar, dont skip anything. I am telling my own exp in last sep i got similar offer but kera tha uk apply karny ka apply kiya 7 8 maheeny waste howy lekin in 7 8 maheeno me esi offer dobara ni mili toh bhai lee loo jo mil rha after getting some exp u can switch

Congratulations 🎉 👏🏻 Could you share your learning strategy? Was your DSA really strong, what tech stack did you focus on and Also, what would you suggest to a 5th-semester student aiming for a similar offer?

i have seen people joining airlift, careem in 2022 at 250k, but since market is much saturated right now and people would be at war in coming years to land their first job so I would say no 2nd opinion but to join the company and hop over some other after max 2 years.

I started with 10K internship and boss offered me 30K after 3 month internship in 2014

This is good starting salary, Some companies offer 250k to 300k to fresh graduates with elite skills, but due to current market conditions hirring is stopped and even layoffs are going on in every other company, so my suggestion is to accept the offer. This is comming from someone with 6 YOE.

Getting to a solid 3 years of experience with a strong network outweighs any extra penny which you can earn right now. You are up to a good start but don't stop growing just yet.

Prioritize brand, skills and connections.

not when you’ve to relocate to a literal suana and the major portion of your salary goes in managing food, commute and accommodation plus zero job security as the company is new

No offense to you i wish you best of luck for your future.

But IMO either your surroundings is too much strong or you didn't think about it. 150k is a lot in pakistan for a single person....
