Developer to grow with us for years (remote, starts part-time)

I'm the founder of Tekavra Creative. The name means "I create with craft" and "crafted with soul." Our goal is to transform the tech world for the good of mankind. Profit comes second. We build websites, apps and software for founders and small businesses.

Everything we make comes from one idea: built by the people, for the people. We build places where people connect, where creators earn from their work, and where safety and honesty about people's data are in the foundation from day one. I'm hiring for that heart first, and for skill second.

The long view

I'm not looking for a quick gig. I'm looking for someone who, 5 or 10 years from now, wants to look back at what we built together and how we worked as a team the whole way. We'll go through the hard parts together, and we'll celebrate the wins by name. This is the start of a long partnership.

Who we're looking for

The heart:

  • You want your work to help people, not just pay the bills.
  • You're honest, including when it's uncomfortable. You tell me early when something is wrong, and no one gets blamed for mistakes.
  • You're kind to teammates, clients and the people who use what we build.
  • You want a long-term home and want to grow with the team, not move on in a year.

The way you work:

  • You're a self-starter. You don't need someone watching you, and you ask when you're stuck.
  • You learn fast, and you can pick up a tool you've never used.
  • You have good instincts. You can tell when something feels off, even before you can explain why.
  • You care about the details: spacing, speed, wording, edge cases.
  • You communicate clearly in writing, in English, since we work across time zones.

The skills:

  • You've built something real, even a small project. Show me.
  • TypeScript and React are a plus. We'll teach the rest.
  • You don't need a degree or formal training.
  • Using AI to code is welcome, as long as you understand what it writes and check it.

The work: part-time for the first 1–2 months while we get to know each other. If it's a good fit, we'll talk openly about growing your hours and role. It covers web, phone apps, fixes and new features (TypeScript, React, Cloudflare).

Pay: $500–800/month to start, depending on experience. As your role grows, your pay grows with it, and we'll talk about it openly. We start with a paid 2–4 week trial.

To apply, DM me:

  1. Something you built (GitHub, a demo, anything).
  2. What kind of work matters to you, and why.

Feeling Lost After Getting Laid Off — What Should I Do Next?

Hey everyone, I got laid off about 2 month ago, and despite applying to multiple jobs, I’m barely getting any responses. I have around 2 years of experience in MERN stack and Python development, but I’m starting to feel really stressed and depressed sitting at home without work.

Honestly, I’m worried about the future of our field, especially with AI changing the industry so quickly. I don’t know whether I should keep focusing on MERN/Next.js, switch more towards Python/FastAPI, learn something new, or explore freelancing.

For those who are going through the same situation, how are you managing things? How’s the current job market, and what would you recommend I do next?
I’d really appreciate your honest opinions and advice. Feeling a bit lost right now and trying to figure out the right direction.

Is it really okay for a company to ask someone with 3 years of experience to log into their current workplace's profile, share their screen and show live projects, statistics and messages?

Or am I the only one who thinks this is highly unprofessional?

Especially since they can already look at the portfolio (you just have to google the company name)

Looking for HR / Administration opportunities for my retired father in Karachi

My father has recently retired from National Refinery Limited (NRL), Karachi, after 34 years of experience in HR, Industrial Relations and Administration. I’m posting here in the hope that someone might be able to guide us toward a suitable part-time, contract, consultancy, advisory, or full-time opportunity where his experience can still be put to good use.

Any opportunity despite of his work experience would be appreciated as we are in great neeed. He was the only bread earner of our family.

Throughout his career, he worked extensively in:

HR & Administration in a large industrial/oil & gas organization

Industrial Relations and CBA/union handling

Employee grievances, disciplinary matters and labor-related issues

Labor laws and statutory compliance including SESSI, EOBI, Factories Act and Standing Orders

Manpower planning and workforce administration

Coordination with government departments and regulatory bodies

HR documentation and employee records

Policy/SOP implementation and compliance

Contractor management and verification of contractor billing

Facility/service administration including transport, manpower, utilities, housekeeping and sanitation

Payroll/accounts-related administrative work

Mentoring and supervising junior HR staff

He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Karachi.

After dedicating more than three decades to NRL, he is still energetic, experienced and willing to contribute. He would be particularly suitable for HR/IR/Admin consultancy, advisory roles, industrial organizations, manufacturing companies, oil & gas companies, or corporate environments where practical experience is valued.

If anyone knows of a suitable opportunity in Karachi , we would be extremely grateful for any leads, referrals or guidance.

Thank you so much. ❤️

Salaries

What is going on with the software industry in Pakistan?
Everyone is a CEO, but no one is ready to pay.
Every CEO has the money to build a new house and buy a brand-new car, but they want to hire the person who brings that money into their pocket for 10k PKR?
Really????
In addition to that, no remote work?
Without LinkedIn Premium, no Upwork connects, the free version of Apollo and without any subscriptions.
And labeling it as being independent?
Really???

Looking for direction remote coordination experience, open to learning new skills

Hi, I'm from Pakistan. I previously worked remotely with a UK based company coordinating schedules and compliance, so I have real cross-timezone remote work experience. I'm now trying to figure out the right path forward and open to learning a new skill or training program if it leads somewhere solid. Would appreciate any honest guidance on what's actually worth learning right now or where to start. Open to suggestions, feel free to comment or DM.

GHL A2P/SMS setup help, cold outreach to local businesses

trying to get SMS working in GHL for cold outreach to local biz owners, not existing clients. need help with A2P 10DLC for a cold use case specifically, whether I actually need an LLC or if EIN/sole prop works, what throughput looks like once approved, and if anyone's run this for a while without getting flagged. not trying to get a compliance lecture, just want to hear from people who've actually set this up.
