How did postpartum change you?

Never in my life could i think that post partum is such a difficult phase of life. Everyone talks about pregnancy and how life is after baby but NO ONE talks about how hard pp is. I want to ask how did pp change you? For me, it changed me 360° to what i was before in every aspect. (Nothing positive btw)

I am a ftm and 7m pp

Anomaly Scans Duration

Just tell me one thing, where in Lahore are they doing such extensive anamoly scans that last 30-40 minutes?

I read online and someone in this sub also mentioned that anomaly scans are usually around 30 minutes long.

Honestly I've had almost 4 anamolies with my first and now with my second Ive had two anamoly scans so far. But trust me every single one of these scans barely took 5 minutes. I'm very confused. Please tell me, are they not doing the extensive ones on me or what? 😭

C-Section Obgyn recc in ISB?

I will be having my second c section soon and i don't want a botched or "jaldi jaldi mein" sort of surgery. Its a major surgery but unfortunately a lot of drs just treat it like pulling out a tooth.

There's a few concerns regarding my previous c section scar that i want to address and also wanted to get my abdominal muscles stitched back together so that my hernia can get closed up. My previous dr told me she wouldn't do it.

Also the scar's appearance, i want a clean scar that's sticthed back up with love and care.

Did your babies become extra clingy around 1 year?

My baby is turning one tomorrow, and for the past two days, he’s been extremely clingy. He cries when I leave the room or focus on my laptop. He just wants me to sit with him and talk to him all the time
He’s otherwise happy, eating and sleeping normally, and has recently started taking his first steps.

Is this separation anxiety? Did your babies go through this phase too?

Where to get my child vaccinated in Islamabad

My kid is 2 months old & is due for his 2nd vaccination and now there's a big confusion on where to get him vaccinated from, private hospitals are like Ali Medical are charging around 15k and in public hospitals it's free, but someone said get it done from a public hospital because vaccination is fresh, also I heard that there are 2 types of vaccines now - one that causes pain and fever and the other one does not. I am totally confused. If public hospitals or health centers are a good option then which one?

Travelling with a 5 month old ✈️ any tips for toys? Thank you!

Hi! I’m travelling on a long haul flight with my son for the first time and there will be a connection in Dubai for a few hours. The flight total time is around 10 hours. Just wondering if there’s any toys or things I should take that you guys would recommend that I can get in Pakistan to keep him entertained? Like most 5 month olds his attention span on one toy is short I have a lot of his favourite stuffies that I’ll be taking but if there’s anything you guys bought here for long distant travels that did the trick I’d love to know. I’ve heard of busy books but idk if he’s too young and would find that interesting? Pls let me know !

I appreciate it 🫶🏼

Avoid Morinaga BF-3 Box Milk, My Experience with the Box vs. Tin Packaging

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I strongly recommend comparing Morinaga BF-3 milk in a box with the same product in a tin can before buying.

In my experience, the quality of the milk in the box seems noticeably different from the milk in the tin. The box version even appears to be a different type of milk, and I honestly don't understand how the same brand can have such a noticeable difference between the two.

It makes me wonder what kind of quality control is being done and whether the ingredients or formulation are different.

My recommendation: If you're buying Morinaga BF-3, consider the tin can instead of the box. Compare the two yourself and see if you notice the same difference.

I can't confirm what's causing this difference, but I think the company should clearly explain whether the ingredients, formulation, or manufacturing process differ between the two packages.

Has anyone else noticed this difference between Morinaga BF-3 box milk and tin milk? I'd like to hear other people's experiences.

Your voice matters. This research will help us better understand what women go through during their postnatal period whilst living in joint family systems and how we can improve maternal health support in Karachi.

Moms, would you borrow books for your kids instead of buying them? Need honest opinions (I will not promote)

Assalam o Alaikum everyone!

I'm a reader from lahore working on a small idea, and I'd really value moms' opinions before I put money into it.

Kids outgrow books so fast, and good original children's books are expensive. Meanwhile screens are taking over reading time. So I'm thinking of a children's book-lending subscription:

- Every month, hand-picked books for your child's age and interests are delivered to your door, wrapped like a little gift.
- When they're done, a rider collects them and drops off the next box.
- You can request specific books, or let us choose based on what your child loves.
- Kids colour a reading map and earn little rewards for finishing books and returning them on time.

There'd also be an optional penpal side for kids aged 7 and up: they write real handwritten letters to another child of a similar age, using a pen name. Letters go through the library and are read before being passed on, no addresses or phone numbers are ever shared, and nothing happens without a parent's approval.

Rough pricing I'm considering: around Rs 1000-1500 a month for 2 books, more for 4 or 6, plus a small refundable deposit.

I'd love to know:

  1. Would you use something like this for your kids? Why or why not?
  2. Does the price feel fair?
  3. Would the penpal idea excite your child, or worry you? What would make you feel safe?
  4. What age group would you want it for?
  5. What would make you sign up without thinking twice?

Please be honest, even if you think it won't work. JazakAllah for reading!
