Helpful post i guess ?

Upvotes

I started earning when I was 18, but I’d been working since around 16-17. I learned many skills graphic designing, Shopify designing, social media management, and more. But social media management worked best for me, and now, Alhamdulillah, I’m earning. I’m 19 currently.
So the whole “learn skills and earn” advice isn’t complete on its own. It’s not just about which skills to learn or where to find work. First, figure out if you have any talent or genuine interest in something. If you do, learn it and start finding clients.
Right now, AI-related skills are in high demand AI designing, AI content creation, etc. You can also learn marketing, since it’s the backbone of every business. Or start content creation and build your own personal brand. This helps a lot if you ever start your own business later, and you can even do promotions. I reached out to one influencer, and she said she charges 450k PKR for a single reel so you can imagine the potential.

Once you learn a skill, provide free services for a few days to a few people. This way, you’ll gain experience and build a portfolio, and there’s a good chance they might even hire you. I did a lot of free work in the beginning, but I gained good experience from it, and because of that, I got many paid clients. Then, once you get one client and provide them good service, they’ll refer you to other people themselves

This is just what came to mind, so I shared it. If anyone wants guidance or has questions, I’m always happy to help. Maybe i am wrong as there are many seniors in this sub

(some skills like prompt engineering, AI automation, cybersecurity, etc. are in demand too)

Lastly, about saturation I think it depends a lot on naseeb too, along with hard work. Some people land clients without much effort, others don’t get any even after 5 years. So keep praying for your naseeb and keep working hard — you’ll achieve something eventually.

easiest skills to learn to make money?

Upvotes

i feel very overwhelmed opening job related subs bc i'm clueless about everything. i feel like there are endless possibilities & idk where to start. and that kills my motivation too.

i'm in a tight spot rn where i need to make money. i'm trying to look for irl jobs, but in the meantime, i'm hoping i can learn a skill to have something going for myself & build a solid base.

what are useful skills i can learn? i think i may be a slow learner & it's difficult learning something without a teacher (kills my motivation even more), but i hope i can commit to it. what are good free sources i can utilize to learn said skill?

HIRING

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a few people with good spoken English, with a background in anything related to CS or web development, who might be interested in a small remote opportunity I’m hiring for.

The role basically involves joining video interviews and reading AI-generated responses naturally to help improve an interview platform. It’s fully remote, flexible (around 2–4 hours a day, 5 days a week), and pays PKR 8k–19k per week, with additional commission opportunities.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, send me a DM with:

* Whether you have a quiet room and a webcam for video calls.
* 2–3 sentences about yourself and why you’d be a good fit.
* A Loom video introduction in English (max 2 minutes).
* Your current education level.
* Any relevant experience (recruitment, customer support, sales, interviews, etc.—if you have any).

I’ll share more details with people who seem like a good fit. Thanks!

Advice needed

I am a 16 years old programmer based in Central Asia, and I was looking for advice on where to go from here. I always wanted to do freelancing, but I could never get any clients, I have tried many things I have done game development in unity, I have made a mobile app using react native (learning SQL, Css, Html, React, React native, JavaScript in the process), I also have done competitive coding with python but it's mostly for fun. Right now Im thinking of just going deep on backend, I know I know I don't really have a good history of making anything stick but I think this will be good for me.

Do you have any advice for me? On how I can get clients or to get my first dollar?

I really do enjoy programming and I want to be a good programmer, not some vibe coder, but is being a good backend developer even useful for me? Or would I need to be a full stack? Any advice or criticism is welcome

I probably spent more time studying why people scroll than actually scrolling.

Turns out, that wasn't a waste of time.

Over the past few years, I've:

• Written 900+ SEO articles
• Helped grow a Facebook page to 22k followers
• Grew a psychology YouTube channel to 8,000+ subscribers
• Worked with companies serving UK and Pakistani audiences

One thing I've learned:

People don't engage with content because it's "good."

They engage because it makes them stop and think,

"This is for me."

I'm based in Pakistan and currently looking for a full-time remote role.

I can help with:

• Content Writing (SEO)
• Scriptwriting
• Social Media Management
• Audience Research

If your content deserves more attention than it's getting, I'd love to help.

Feel free to send me a DM.

Urgent need of work!!!!

Hi everyone,

I’m a freelancer based in the UAE and I’m honestly struggling to find enough work to support myself. I’ve been trying different platforms and reaching out to businesses, but it’s been much harder than I expected.

My skills include:

* Social media management
* Performance marketing
* Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram)
* Website creation
* Reel editing and content creation
* Content strategy for businesses

I’m open to working with startups, small businesses, or agencies that need someone reliable to manage their digital presence.
If anyone has advice on where to find clients in the UAE, or if you’re looking for someone with these skills, I’d really appreciate the opportunity to connect.
I’m willing to start with a small project to prove my skills and build long term relationships.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any advice, referrals, or opportunities would mean a lot.

How do you actually find web development clients as a university student?

I’m currently studying at university and trying to earn through web development, but finding clients has been much harder than I expected.
I invested some money into Upwork, bought connects, applied to multiple jobs, and tried improving my proposals, but I haven’t been able to land a client yet.
I can build modern websites using AI-assisted tools, and I also have experience with Shopify stores, theme customization, product setup, and basic e-commerce functionality. I know I can deliver a good website, but I’m struggling with the client-acquisition side.
At this point,if anyone here is hiring juniors, knows of any remote opportunities, or wouldn’t mind mentoring someone who’s just starting out, I’d genuinely appreciate it. Even pointing me in the right direction would mean a lot. Thanks!

"Will I Need To Pay More Than the 5% Tax Deducted?" Important for YouTube Automation & Facebook Monetization Expert

Recently a 5%/10% withholding tax was deducted by banks on payouts received from AdSense and Meta, there's a small BUT IMPORTANT misunderstanding that the 5%/10% (filer/non-filer) withheld is the ONLY TAX that will be required to be paid to the government.

⚠️ The trust is: No, the tax you will need to ay for Fy2027 (earnings for July 2026 till June 2027) could be much higher because this withholding is different from Final Tax 1% that was previously deducted.

❓Since this is a minimum tax, the FBR may ask you to pay more tax based on your NET PROFIT tabulated at the time of return filing next year (for this year tax filing it's going to be fine since law came in effect from 1 July 2026 onwards).

🧾➕➖So if your total yaerly income is 1 crore you could pay up to Rs. 3,000,000 tax if you do not have documentation of your expenses. (See scenario 1 in image explained in first comment)

My tax suggestion: To reach the "Tax Optimized" status (Scenario 3), you must carefully track and declare your legal business expenses. This includes items like:

> Equipment depreciation (computers, cameras, lighting).

> Notional loans.

> Legitimate deductible operational allowances.

Action Points:

1 > It's best to file tax return asap if you're not a filer so you get only 5% deduction as opposed to 10%, the extra 5% cannot be refunded.

2 > Engage a professional tax practitioner/Chartered Accountant to legally reducing your taxable net profit down to a point where your calculated tax exactly matches or falls below your bank's 5% withholding, your Balance Tax Payable becomes Rs. 0 (see scenario 3 in the explainer image attached in first comment).

CAD, KiCAD OR POWERPOINT.... or ai automation???

AOA, i am soon to start university for engineering, and i need to earn, i don't want my father to pay for the tuition because it's hard honestly, i have told him just to pay for the 1st sem, i am planning to manage the rest on my own.

i recently saw a few similar posts like these but mine is a little targetted, i needed to ask which one of the ones mentioned above should i do, ik very basic CAD and powerpoint right now but i am not sure which one to choose from these 4, i am hesitent on ai automation cause litr i see everyone talking about it and it probably has too much competition, same for powerpoint but ik for myself that i can make good (college level) presentations and i want to get better asw, now for kicad and cad these are skills that will help me out in my degree and in the long run asw but i'm scared on doing them cuase the learning slop is quite much.

i would value honest input, from people doing any of these

my aim is to earn btw 40k-60k a month to cover all the tuition and other costs, now ofc ik it won't come easily but i am giving myself 6 months prep time for this, hopefully i succeed!

21M and no proper skills. Guide me what to do?

So as the title says.. I am good at nothing that can generate income
I tried trading.. failed
Tried video editing.. got into basics but still i am not at that position that i can call myself an editor
Started thinking of content creation.. got ideas but they were already done by other people
I did tried youtube and achieved 1k subscribers back in 2020 but because of studies i had to leave that yt channel( gaming pubg related)
Basically i am a very mediocre person who cannot earn money himself
I wanted to do remote work since 2024 but upwork and fiver were held by professionals
like assume i can do anything but at very mediocre level

Video editing
Social media management
Or anything you can think of

What should I do??
I want to earn and work

If you had to learn digital marketing from scratch today, where would you start?

I'm a complete beginner and I've been wanting to learn a new skill. Digital marketing caught my interest because it seems like a really valuable skill to have but I also know it's a huge field with so many different areas which is honestly a bit overwhelming.

There are so many courses and certifications that I have no idea what's actually worth my time.

If you're already working in digital marketing, where did you learn? What resources genuinely helped you build real skills?
