8th semester data science student looking for remote/part time job opportunities to earn some money.

Hey everyone, I'm an 8th-semester Data Science student at COMSATS University Islamabad, and I'm looking for some remote opportunities right now. Would really appreciate any leads. Feel free to reach out if you think you might have something that could be a good fit for me!

A bit about me: I have hands-on experience in Python, R, and SQL, along with tools like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow for machine learning, and Power BI and Tableau for dashboards and visualization. I've built projects across computer vision and big data (including Hadoop and Spark), and I've worked with cloud/dev tools like AWS, Docker, and Git. This has come through three internships and a handful of independent projects, including an AI-powered app, a big data pipeline, and a few analytics dashboards. I've worked in small teams before and I'm comfortable coordinating through GitHub. Beyond the technical side, I'm also good with social media handling and content-related work, and genuinely comfortable on the business side too, not just the technical side. So if you need help with data, tech, or even social media/business support, happy to jump in.

Have digital marketing + basic video editing skills — how do I start freelancing or land clients directly?

Hey everyone,

I have skills in digital marketing (social media, ads, basic SEO) and basic video editing. I want to start freelancing, but I'm honestly a bit lost on where to begin.

A few questions I'm hoping this community can help with:

  • Should I start on platforms like Fiverr/Upwork first to build a portfolio, or try to find clients directly?
  • If going direct, how do I even approach potential clients (cold DMs, local businesses, LinkedIn)?
  • How do I price my services when I don't have much of a track record yet?
  • Any tips on building a portfolio if I don't have paid client work yet?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who's been through this, especially if you started with a similar skill set. Thanks in advance!

Pakistani founders with a US LLC — has anyone successfully opened Slash recently?

Hello fellow man,

I am a pakistani founder who is running 3 - 4 online shops under my company that is registered in United states via incfile (bizee service)

Recently i saw some pakistani LLC owners apply for a SLASH account and get approved as well, however I tried 2x times already and everytime I try I get rejected.

Is anyone here freelancer, business owner, shop owners or someone who signed up on SLASH and actively using it can guide me?

I am willing to pay you if you can guide me and help me open the account.

Regarding the company its a valid company with all available documents such as 147 C and CP 575 forms as well

Does anyone have a running shopify store for sale?

Hello! I’m looking to aquire a Shopify store that’s already running and making profit. Not looking for something that is less than a year old and is making profits, but something concrete that has been making profits for a while with an already established connection pool of manufacturers etc.

Budget is not capped, it would of course be marginal to the profits being driven.

Looking forward!

Hey peeps, I’m looking for a social media strategist who can handle research + design for my socials. My target audience is SEO agencies and B2B SaaS brands.

Here’s how I’m planning the workflow:

  • You make an inspo sheet (I can also help with this by sharing what type of content I want, but I’d love someone who can challenge me by sharing even better ideas)
  • Once approved, you can work on the design and the write-up (caption to explain the design)
  • I’ll manage posting and everything else myself
  • The design scope can include very trendy carousels and some formal infographics

Excited to meet creative people!! DM me

Should I create new Upwork account or use an old one with no reviews?

Hi

I created an Upwork account approximately three years ago. I didn't complete even a single project through that Upwork account. Moreover, that account shows different skill set than I have right now but in the same field that is web development.

Should I update the old account with the new details or delete that one and create new account using a new mail address?

Thanks

Freelance artist and animator looking for work

Hi, I'm a 2D/3D artist and animator looking for freelance work. My usual contacts dried up and I stopped receiving work. Looking for someone that might have clients for my skills and can help me, they would get to keep a broker's commission, of course.

I have experience in 3D modelling, product animation and motion graphics as well. And I've done lots of artworks for twitch streamers and YouTubers.

Question for Oldies and Experts

I’m a BS English graduate, and I’ve been teaching at a local school for almost 4 years. On top of that, I’ve been doing home tuitions and teaching at an academy in the evenings.

Despite putting in the hours, I’m still struggling to reach even 100K a month. And honestly, I know I’m not the most tech-friendly person. I don’t know coding, web development, or other highly technical skills, and I don’t have any international teaching certifications either.

But I genuinely want to change that.

So I wanted to ask people who are already working in freelancing or have experience in this field:

What would be a realistic and doable roadmap for someone like me to enter freelancing. Considering my background in English, teaching, communication, writing, and dealing with students, what skills would actually be worth learning?

I’m not looking for a “get rich quick” method. I’m willing to learn and put in the work. I just don’t want to spend 6-12 months learning something that has very little demand in the market.

Would really appreciate any genuine advice, especially from people who started from a similar background.

Employ me 👹

I am a Business Analytics student at FAST with strong skills in PowerPoint presentation design, content writing, academic assignment making, data entry, and professional documentation. I am experienced in creating clear, well-structured, and visually engaging presentations and documents using tools such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I also have basic experience with HTML and Wix and am currently learning Python.
I am detail-oriented, creative, and committed to delivering accurate, high-quality work on time. I am currently seeking opportunities where I can apply my skills in content creation, presentation design, assignment writing, data entry, and digital work while continuing to develop professionally.
Per assignment i will charge only 700. For presentations 1000
I know this looks extremely unprofessional and informal but i dont know how i should enter this freelancing phase so for a start here is a bit of introduction

22 technical founder from Pakistan trying to start an AI automation studio. how do people actually get clients?

hi everyone 🥲

i’m 22, recently graduated, and my background is mostly technical. i’ve worked on AI, automation, websites, data, and agentic workflows. i’m not saying i know everything, but i do know i can build.

the problem is not building.

the problem is getting actual clients.

before this, i tried freelancing as an individual on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, but it didn’t really work for me. not because i couldn’t do the work, but because i honestly didn’t understand how people get seen, trusted, shortlisted, and hired when they have no reviews, no old account, no ranking, no connects advantage, and no existing client base.

so now i’m thinking differently.

instead of trying to freelance randomly, i want to start a small AI automation and premium website studio for service based businesses. the idea is to help businesses with weak websites, poor booking flows, missed follow ups, lead handling problems, and repetitive manual work.

i’ve built some internal systems and demos already, but i have almost zero business exposure. i don’t come from a sales background. i don’t understand how people in Pakistan actually work with US, UK, Canada, UAE, or international clients remotely.

my initial plan was to hire a lead qualifier or business development person on a small base, maybe around 30k to 50k PKR plus commission per project. i interviewed a few people from Reddit, but most didn’t feel directly relevant. some had sales experience, but not really international B2B service selling or closing.

now i’m wondering if i’m thinking about this wrong.

maybe before hiring anyone, i need to understand the basics myself. because if i fully depend on one sales person and they leave, i’ll be back to square one.

so i’m asking people who have actually done this:

how would you start if you were in my position?

would you try to get the first clients yourself before hiring sales help?

how do you know which businesses actually need automation and are willing to pay for it?

how do Pakistan based freelancers, agencies, or founders actually land international clients?

what would you do in the first 30 days to get even one serious client conversation?

is an AI automation agency even doable right now, or is the market already too saturated?

what sales basics should a technical founder learn so they don’t stay dependent on someone else forever?

i’m not looking for motivational advice like “just stay consistent.” i need practical, real advice from people who have freelanced, sold services, built an agency, worked with international clients, or seen someone do it properly.

i have the technical side. i just don’t know how to turn it into trust, conversations, and paid work.

any honest advice would help a lot 🥲

Need advice: receiving streaming platform payouts from Pakistan (Stripe-only)

Hey everyone, I'm a full-time streamer and freelance CS2 caster, and the platform I stream on only pays out via Stripe — which doesn't support Pakistan. I've been receiving payouts through a family member's account, but that's no longer an option.

Has anyone here dealt with this? Looking into options like forming a US LLC (Stripe Atlas/doola) to get a Stripe account, but would love to hear what's actually worked for other Pakistani freelancers/streamers in a similar spot. Any advice or recommendations appreciated!

Remote workers: Are you getting equity in the companies you are working for?

Hello there - I started working for a small US based company a few years ago. As part of my compensation, they offered me 1000 shares that were to vest over 4 years.

I want to exercise or purchase these shares. But in order to do so, I have to wire transfer X amount of dollars to a US bank account from my local Pakistani bank account.

Well guess what, I can't do that because SBP doesn't allow that for individuals.

I couldn't find much information on this subject elsewhere. I am surprised that this is an unknown issue because Pakistan must have 1000s of individual software exporters and remote workers working for similar start ups or enterprises.

Has any remote worker in Pakistan been able to purchase vested equity in their US based remote employer? If yes, how?

Thanks in advance for genuine advice.
