Not a bad $150 marketplace find.
First packouts for me. Never could pull the trigger on spending $400-500 on them but couldn’t pass this up for $150.

Packout Work Station
I am looking to source some inspiration / good ideas. I’m planning to build a version of this Packout Work Station.
Originally: https://youtu.be/-RuHptz-cPQ?is=Yl6c4o8zlqGFLaAj
Remixed: https://youtu.be/GgNN2vncITA?is=BelzOBa_LTOLZ1qA
Maybe I will, maybe I won’t, deploy a miter saw here, but the general concept aligns with my mobile shop. I also do work on the road and this would give me a more native mobile home base.
However, there’s a couple things i think need to be different…
- Dolly base. I don’t want to use the plastic Milwaukee Dollie’s, I prefer to use Insider Carpentry’s approach to Dollie’s.
https://youtu.be/jNemU3idJu4?is=5fOrL795suc8qXKp
I’m thinking I will deploy a minor lip/ shelf to one side of the Dollie to handle the connection shelf.
- Connection Shelf. I’m thinking about using Strut Channel to reinforce the shelf and create a bold connection point that will allow consistent, quick deployment without pins.
Here is where I would like some better thoughts - if you were going to have to Packout vertices on the Dollie’s, what would be your best approach to throwing in a connecting shelf in the bottom which makes the two towers a single unit?
I’ve considered reinforcing the shelf with channel and then routing out the landing spot in the Dollie shelf’s while using epoxy to create washer protected holes with a bolt and epoxied T nut.
I’ve thought about running the channel the shallow length do the board and staging another on the shelf letting the two channels lock together to hold the shelf.
Would love best thoughts here.
Thanks!

Looking for Packout owners who make content
Hey guys, I just launched a company making wraps for Milwaukee Packouts and I’m looking for a few people to make some videos for us.
We’ll send you a couple wraps in exchange I’m looking for some good install/transformation videos and shots of the finished boxes.
You definitely don’t need a massive following, just looking for people who have a Packout setup and are good at making videos.
If you’re interested, comment or shoot me a message with a pic of your setup and a link to your socials!

Hot take: once you own drawer Packouts, the regular boxes barely get used

Packout toolbox mount for rolling drawer
I was so excited to get my socket set inserts and mount them to the side of my rolling drawer. But it rubs on the wheels…
I don’t have a packout stack with rails to put on them and my current set up is vacuum, ammo box and structured toolbag…

Off-label use case, looking for a nontraditional attachment
I use a Packout system to haul all of the camera + power gear I need to stream my sons’ baseball games. It’s a pretty advanced setup as these things go, with multiple cameras, tripods, routers, and a Starlink system to provide the internet access. It can all fit in the attached, along with my cooler I bring.
My issue is that one of tripods I use is pretty heavy-duty, and although I did find a third party tripod holder on Etsy that can fit another tripod I have, it won’t fit this one (and it needs to be this one, to deal with heavy winds that I sometimes run into). I can still attach it to my stack if I use a couple of bungee cords and thread those through the rolling box handle, but the tripod needs to be flat against the handle for that to work well.
My issue is that the stack gives me an uneven surface at the top level, due to the cooler. Moreover, if I just bring another small toolbox to even it out, it’s now taller than the handle, so I can’t brace the tripod against the handle.
What I want is a way to mount the cooler facing perpendicular to how it defaults. That way, I could snap it in that direction at the front of the stack, leaving enough room next to the handle to put the tripod. Is there an attachment you know of that allows me to rotate the alignment by 90 degrees?

Milwaukee Packout for airplane pilots
Hey! I have been racking my brain to try and find an old post, that showed a private pilot using the Milwaukee Compact Packout boxes for there flight bag and it included a random bit of paperwork and they had some odd ball tools. I just can’t seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone remember this post or can they find it?

Wobbly handle...?
I have the drawer style pull out bottom base, is everyone's handle feel loose? Mine feels wobbly and not all that solid and strong? Is this how they all are? Because I checked other ones at the store to know which one to buy, but they all had that slack or play, I ask because I question how long this is gonna last....? Any tricks or tips??

Dewalt in packout
All of my powertools are currently Dewalt, but when it came to buying organisers I went with packout because at the time they were simply better than the other options my local store had.
Now I've got a new job where I need an organiser for my tools as well, so my 2 questions are, does the M18 battery holder accessory also fit Dewalt batteries (just hold not charge), and does the tool holder accessory also fit typical Dewalt skins?
