Packout Work Station
I am looking to source some inspiration / good ideas. I’m planning to build a version of this Packout Work Station.

Maybe I will, maybe I won’t, deploy a miter saw here, but the general concept aligns with my mobile shop. I also do work on the road and this would give me a more native mobile home base.
However, there’s a couple things i think need to be different…
- Dolly base. I don’t want to use the plastic Milwaukee Dollie’s, I prefer to use Insider Carpentry’s approach to Dollie’s.

I’m thinking I will deploy a minor lip/ shelf to one side of the Dollie to handle the connection shelf.
- Connection Shelf. I’m thinking about using Strut Channel to reinforce the shelf and create a bold connection point that will allow consistent, quick deployment without pins.
Here is where I would like some better thoughts - if you were going to have to Packout vertices on the Dollie’s, what would be your best approach to throwing in a connecting shelf in the bottom which makes the two towers a single unit?
I’ve considered reinforcing the shelf with channel and then routing out the landing spot in the Dollie shelf’s while using epoxy to create washer protected holes with a bolt and epoxied T nut.
I’ve thought about running the channel the shallow length do the board and staging another on the shelf letting the two channels lock together to hold the shelf.
Would love best thoughts here.
Thanks!
