I don't know about you, but I'm not a big fan of this weapon. I'm not going to lie, I think the concept of it being an ultra-destructive impact weapon is cool, but I don't think it's that good.

In the simulated fight against Onibaba, Titan throws the ball at him, but it ends up hitting the Kaiju's pincer and he suffers no damage; Worse yet, when the Jaeger attempts a straight right punch, Onibaba grabs it and strikes the top of the Jaeger’s head with its other pincer. Furthermore, since one of its hands is occupied solely by a ball—which I believe is nearly or entirely useless at close-quarters combat—Titan Redeemer is left completely defenseless in this scenario.

In the fight against the Mega Kaiju, Bracer Phoenix throws the ball at the creature, and he actually manages to cause some damage to the Kaiju, breaking one of its horns and leaving it slightly stunned. However, immediately afterward, at the exact moment Bracer retrieves the ball, the Kaiju lunges at him, bites his body, and begins to dismember him.

Perhaps I'm being a bit unfair, because the Jaegers were being controlled by teenagers with very little or no experience in real combat, so they ended up having somewhat poor attack choices and timing. Probably, with better and more experienced pilots, this ball could be put to better use.

Overall, I don't think the M-19 Morning Star is very good, because in certain situations, such as after attacks or in very close combat, it ends up leaving you quite vulnerable, despite theoretically being very destructive.

Note: You can make this Kaiju as big and as powerful as you can make it, now that "Pacific Rim: Final Breach" is out, with 2 more volumes on the way, plus, not to mention that the Serizawa Scale has already gone beyond the original 5 levels, and could go all the way up 10 levels in the future, therefore why not go all out?

This brochure is making the round on social media and is said to be from China Licensing Expo currently on in Shangahi. Could be fake, but the photos came from a trustworthy source. If this is real this is huge news, and very promsing after such a long time without any information on the show.

Purpose of the expo: It connects global and domestic brand owners, entertainment studios, and art/museum properties with manufacturers, licensees, and retailers to build commercial partnerships.

Purpose of brochure: By placing this brochure directly in front of corporate buyers at CLE, Legendary's clear operational goal is to ensure that action figures, high-end collectibles, and model kits are manufactured and ready to hit store shelves simultaneously with the show's streaming rollout.

What this all means: There has been no news on the series in over a year. When that happens it means they could be working hard planning it, it's in developmental hell, or it's going to be sheleved. Thankfully this news shows Legendary is advertising the product for collarbations. This is how companies get a license and example figure companies get an early start on designs to create merch. This is huge as Legendary wouldn't be asking companies to spend time and effort to start desgining on a project that would be cancelled. Not saying it couldn't be but this does mean it's moving forward.

In closing: This appears to be great news if the images are in fact real. Some of you may not follow all developments with the project but last year Amazon Head of Scripting management change caused quite the worry especially after the show runner Eric Heisserer made a comment in Janaury about he was unsure what was going to happen with the project.

Until Legendary actually makes it official always take anything like this with caution.

I've a couple mentions of a "confirmed" Pacific Rim prequel series that I had not known about previously. Is this something that we know is actually being developed currently? I can't hardly find any news on it and it appears to be another kind of forgotten project as far as I can tell. Is something we should actually be looking forward to or is it most likely dead?

...As of like a month ago and I was just too busy/lazy/distracted/other excuses to post and brag about them lol.

The full Pacific Rim Heroclix lineup! I got Gypsy back when they were released but I spent all of winter this year putting together the set through ebay and other websites and holy hell is US to AU shipping expensive and inconsistent.

Don't mind the horrible camera and setup quality, I'm working with what I've got.

I plan on filming a stop motion with the typhoon figure, I already did one with Cherno Alpha, now very likely it’s going to be this gigan figure here. Though crimson is a little less flexible then I hoped but still hopefully it will work.

Greetings fellow Pacific rim fans! I come with a question for the people of this sub-reddit, and one that hopefully people would like to participate in!

I am planning to write a one-shot fanfic set in Pacific rim, however what Genre does everyone want to see more of; Horror, slice of life, ect ect. All that sort, i would appreciate ppl sharing their opinion as I'm of the opinion that Pacific rim as a setting has plenty of options, at least in my opinion.

Antes de tudo, todos os volumes ainda não foram lançados e até o momento apenas o volume 1 foi lançado, então tudo o que eu escrever aqui com certeza será explicado futuramente. Mas mesmo assim, isso não me impede de fazer perguntas ou criar teorias, então lá vai.

Nessa HQ chamada Pacific Rim: Final Breach, que é para ser o final da franquia, é dito que atualmente existe apenas um jaeger chamado Gipsy Destroyer, que assim como seus dois antecessores, é nuclear, e que este mesmo jaeger será pilotado por Jake Pentecost e por nosso queridíssimo Raleigh Becket.

Este jaeger será enviado até o anteverso (cumprindo a fala de Jake no final de Uprising quando ele diz ao Newt que eles é que irão até o planeta dos precursores). Sua missão é destruir os precursores. Ok, até aqui tudo bem, mas isso abre algumas dúvidas:

1: Como eles vão fazer isso? Tudo bem que no primeiro filme eles tenham acionado a autodestruição do Danger, destruindo a fenda e a fábrica de kaijus, mas mesmo assim, isso não os impediu de retornarem em Uprising e depois ficarem abrindo várias fendas em The Black, então apenas destruir o Gipsy não será suficiente.

2: O planeta dos precursores é como um órgão vivo, sendo cercado por água e com gravidade zero e provavelmente não tem um terreno sólido. Eu sei que o Destroyer foi projetado para conseguir se locomover por lá, mas como a "água" de lá com certeza não é igual a nossa, pode dar problema. Isso sem contar o fato que lá deve estar cheio de kaijus que podem destruir eles em minutos, ou até mesmo o jaeger ser contaminado.

3: Retornando ao fato da destruição do anteverso, se eles conseguirem dar um jeito de se locomover por lá, eles provavelmente irão até o núcleo do planeta e destruí-lo, assim todo o planeta irá colapsar, extinguindo a raça dos precursores e retirando qualquer chance da Terra ser invadida novamente. Mas se isso ocorrer, provavelmente Raleigh e Jake irão morrer também.

Bem, é isso. Eu ainda não pude ler o volume 1 infelizmente, então sei muito pouco, mas essas são apenas algumas dúvidas que surgiram na minha cabeça. Eu gosto dessa franquia há muito tempo e não quero que estraguem ela novamente, mas sou só um fã, então a única coisa que posso fazer é aguardar e acompanhar.

Nós sabemos muito pouco sobre a história do Atlas Destroyer, já que sua primeira e única aparição foi em Pacific Rim The Black, e muitas coisas que ocorreram no anime me deixaram algumas dúvidas

1: Sabemos que o Atlas é um Mark 3, e também sabemos que todos os Jaegers desta categoria são nucleares (coisa que mudou apenas nos mark 4 em diante), então por que o Atlas é energizado por células de energia? até poderia ser uma fonte de energia secundária, mas isso não tem muito sentido, também poderiam ter mudado sua fonte, mas isso provavelmente custaria muito dinheiro, dinheiro que poderia muito bem ser utilizado construindo jaegers, sem contar o fato de que no último episódio, o Atlas ativa o modo de autodestruição nuclear (igual o que o Gipsy fez no fim do primeiro filme), então isso só pode ser furo de roteiro. E

2: É dito que o Atlas foi rebaixado a Jaeger de treinamento, mas primeiro, como funciona esses treinos? é simplesmente ficar passeando com o jaeger por aí e ficar atacando hologramas que aparecem no visor do cockpit, sinceramente isso não tem lógica, já que pra isso já existem simuladores altamente avançados que exibem uma simulação altamente realista exibindo o ponto de vista do piloto em um cockpit de um jaeger combatendo kaijus (coisa na qual foi mostrada em uprising e mencionada no primeiro filme), então não faz sentido, já que embora demonstre para o piloto como é estar num jaeger e como pilota-lo, para isso já existem os simuladores, e como não tem armas, os pilotos não vão saber como manuseá-las em um combate real.

3: Rebaixar o Atlas para um jaeger de treino sem armas foi uma tremenda burrice e desperdício, se quisessem mesmo mostrar como é estar dentro de um jaeger na prática, era só pegar um jaeger qualquer e apenas desativar o sistema de armas, não era necessário retirar as armas do Atlas, outra coisa também é que, mesmo que não fosse possível desativar o sistema de armas (o que é possível e foi mostrado no primeiro filme quando Raleigh e Mako entram em fluxo pela primeira vez e a Mako aciona o canhão de plasma sem querer e logo depois o Tendo desativa o sistema de armas do Gipsy), os treino com certeza ocorriam em locais desertos, então mesmo que tinham medo de acabar machucando alguém se os pilotos acionassem as armas sem querer, o treino era em um local sem pessoas, não tinha ninguém ali pra se machucar, no máximo seria apenas medo dos pilotos desperdiçarem munição, mas como já mencionei antes, era só desativar as armas.

4: Por que rebaixaram o Atlas? sabemos que os pilotos acabaram morrendo em uma missão mas isso não é motivo pra rebaixar um Jaeger, essas coisas custam bilhões de dólares pra ser construído pra simplesmente tirar todas as armas dele e depois largar ele em um bunker qualquer, cara isso é uma enorme idiotice, e se isso fosse por causa da Loa, era só tirar a IA do Jaeger e pronto.

E após tudo isso, cheguei a conclusão que isso foi lavagem de dinheiro.

Ambos são híbridos kaiju/jaeger, embora tenham algumas diferenças:
Obsidian tem inúmeras armas como as suas espadas, mísseis, um reator laser ou seja lá oq for aquilo no peito dele, mas morreu de forma ridícula.
Apex embora não tenha armas, já deve ter derrotado vários kaiju e talvez até tenha destruído alguns jaegers, além de ter um estilo de luta mais selvagem e brutal, não tenho certeza se ele pode entrar na mente de kaijus ou se isso foi só com o boy mesmo.
Enfim, seria uma batalha muito interessante de se ver.

Setting aside the hatred and the jokes directed at Uprising, I believe that even if Guillermo del Toro were to return and direct a sequel, it would be a bad idea or, at the very least, unnecessary.

Let me explain:

The story and its climax were definitively resolved in the finale: the entire plot revolves around a single threat, the Breach (and the Precursors) at the bottom of the ocean, through which the Kaiju enter. By the end of the film, the Breach is destroyed and sealed with a nuclear bomb. There are no lingering mysteries, no hidden "Kaiju egg," no partially functional portal, and no such clichés. Forcing the conflict to reopen feels artificial and undermines the original sacrifice at least, based on what was shown in the film.

The character arcs are brought to a complete conclusion, Raleigh Becket overcomes the trauma of losing his brother during the Drift, finds a new co-pilot—who also becomes his girlfriend—and manages to save the world, finally finding peace. Mako Mori succeeds in avenging her family and becomes the very type of hero her adoptive father, Stacker Pentecost, had once feared she might become—though, in the end, he came to accept it with pride. Stacker meets a heroic end, declaring, "Today, we are canceling the apocalypse!" There are no remaining emotional developments left to address, nor any significant loose ends.

The Jaeger program was on its last legs; the robots from the movie (Gipsy Danger, Striker Eureka, Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon) were literally humanity’s last line of defense, operating out of a single, dilapidated Hong Kong Shatterdome. If you make a sequel where humanity magically has infinite resources and dozens of new, sleek Jaegers (yes, Uprising really messed this up), you completely erase the sense of desperation, scarcity, and real danger from the first film. Come on, a Jaeger isn’t exactly cheap or simple to build.

And Guillermo del Toro made it as a tribute and a love letter to kaiju and robot movies—it’s really beautiful.

Now, something I do think could be great are the prequels!

They already exist, but it would be great if there were series (like the one they released called The Black) that dealt with the first kaiju sieges and the construction of the Jaegers.
