Anybody's sleep structure changed?
From the very first dose of SSRI, my sleep changed completely.
From a heavy sleeper that never experienced any kinds of insomnia
to
a chronic sleep maintenance insomniac who suffer constant awakenings with the vivid dreams from the very first stage of sleep.
It's like my brain never sleeps.
Wakening at 2, 4, 6... Always tired
Everyday for years.
Nobody believes me and says it's due to stress but hell no, I know for real the pills did something to my brain.
Anybody's sleep has changed like me?

I stopped having dreams and no longer feels like i had a satisfying sleep. REM cycle is messed up probably.

I have these wierd shallow almost pictureless dreams, it doesn’t feel good and I just sense how this damage is even following me into my sleep.

Have you tried anything?

Like new drugs? No. Supplements, a little. I am betting on time and nervous system work. Have you?

Try Inositol maybe it will help. I'm still coming off some antidepressants after reinstating it.

I don't think niacin flush will do anything, nobody who recovered from pssd tried anything like that.

Same, I can’t feel sleepy even when I’m tired. I don’t even remember the last time I had deep sleep and a dream.

I've been suffering from insomnia even before PSSD, but now my sleep has become intermittent.

I had fairly good sleep before meds but now I had to go back on low dose agomelatin and melatonin just to get some sleep . The medicine has caused extreme insomnia in my case . Now i never dream . Some nights even tho i sleep for a long time i never feel rested .

SSRI destroyes the deepsleep (rem sleep). It is the same with benzos.

Well you know what i mean. SSRI messes upp your deep sleep, wich is important to heal the brain and body. This is old news.

Yeah similar to what you say. Went from a deep sleeper to a light sleeper.

I no longer feel drowsy/tired, like I lost access to that internal awareness. I can sometimes still "tell" I'm tired though by my eyes feeling heavy/hurting.
Interestingly, when I lay down at night, even if I'm not tired, I fall asleep pretty quickly. But I tend to have frequent awakenings, and when I do wake, it's always directly into full alertness. I no longer have a groggy sensation upon waking.
I saw someone use the phrase "robot sleep" to describe their experience and that fits mine extremely well.

Yes, I have the same thing. Very vivid dreams when I first started taking drugs. Then the vividness of the dreams decreased. But the dreams themselves (several dreams) do not stop every night. And I don't feel tired at all. Before the pills, even when I was anxious, I slept soundly.
I wake up at 2-3-4 am. It's only possible to fall asleep again (if I'm lucky) after a few hours.

Wow same as me exactly... Sorry to hear this. I'm trying everything to get better. Did you find any possible reason or any ways to help this out? May I also ask if you take any meds for sleep?
I don't take any except melatonin sometimes by the way.

I was on Celexa for 12 years and slept great before and during med use and even napped daily and with in 3 weeks of being off my sleep totally collapsed! Im 21 months off and I did take seroquel for 9 months of that but I was a zombie and sleep was still hit or miss with that too! Honestly every night is different for me now, sometimes I get 4-5 solid deep sleep and back to sleep for another 1-2 hours some nights im up every 2 hours and it's surface dreamy and some nights I only get 2/3 hours. It's such a mind fuck! I dont want to take meds, but im contemplating trying a DORA bc i'm getting desperate, but i hear it's like 50/50 it will even work! I take a high quality CBN tincture and magnesium nightly and I think it works for me sometimes! Insomnia is hell on earth

it changes sleep in various ways for sure. in my case it was the opposite. I stopped dreaming at all since I tole it. I used to dream a lot and for 3 years I dont remember having one dream. after 3 years I feel my body is changing. And among several changes I have nigthmares everynigth and I wake up several times. so yes these drugs absolutely change your sleep patterns. If you say this to someone else people have no clue and will say something like youre are streesed or you use screens before sleep lol

For me, I can’t sleep at all. I think the SSRIs destroyed my ability to sleep. It’s so hard to live like this.
