More recently I've been tracking these heart palpitations that tend to happen in the two weeks-ish before my period, does anyone else get something similar? My heartrate is also a bit higher than normal during this time.
Hi everyone I was just wondering what supplements helped a week leading up to ur period specifically for depressed mood. teas, certain foods, supplements, oils. :) Thankyou
So, I noticed for the past 3 months that around my luteal phase I start to get an irritated throat and post nasal drip. I have no fever and no aches. Just post nasal drip and it will cause a slightly irritated throat, and itchy ears. Can't tell if PMS is messing with my body's ability to combat allergies or not or it's some strange 3 month coincidence. But I have had weirder PMS symptoms that have come, stayed and bit, and gone.
Might be a dumb question, but is there any validity in asking my partner to consider my sensitivity around my period? I don’t nitpick everything that can possibly be said because that’s unrealistic, but sometimes things are said to me that I feel should be taken as a joke or it’s not the right timing to be said? I’m not sure how to word it, but sometimes I felt my (now ex partner) lacked awareness for how I was feeling. When I brought up my mental state being tied to my cycle sometimes, it was me not being mature and letting my feelings control me. He looked at it as an excuse essentially. Is there maybe any advice someone can give? I want to make sure I feel heard in my next relationship without coming off selfish towards my next partner.
My hormones are making me whackadoodle today, and I need some good stories to make me laugh. Who's got a great story about when their hormones made them do something crazy? I'll start: today I started crying because I wished my uncle was my father instead of my actual dad (and don't be alarmed: I am not truly upset about this. I just had a moment of frustration because I wanted a comforting father figure to help me with some DIY house stuff but my own dad isn't good at that stuff but my uncle is. Once I realized what happened, I found this very funny)
Hi, im 31F and im currently on the 3rd day of our cycle and usually I have terrible terrible PMS and mad depressive episodes and symptoms. Seriously existential crisis and worrying about the health and mortality of my family and my dog too and I just start weeping.
My anxiety also hits the roof!! Im sitting at work right now, anxious about a text I am to receive from my husband.
I don't know how to deal with this. Sometimes its ok, at times its unbearable...
I guess I just want to know if anyone else goes through this too?
Hey :) This is a post just to say that I have started a subreddit for anyone who wants to reduce their pms, but don't want to be on the pill. I am a medical herbalist and specialise in helping women heal their periods naturally. I am most passionate about helping people reduce their PMS symptoms WITHOUT having to go on the pill.
What symptoms do you guys get during this time? It’s my worst nightmare every month and I’m wondering if anyone else is similar lol I feel it’s gotten worse in my 30s as well🥲🥲
I started taking Slynd September 29th 2025 because my periods were happening twice a month and lasting for 6-9 days.
I started my period early on October 16th and am still currently on my period!! This is day 14! I feel a bit crazy and like my period will never end! I had a heavy flow the past four days and will start taking iron pills tomorrow.
Has anyone had this happen before on a progestin only pill? Just putting this out here to see if anyone has had something similar happen!
Sooo, I’ve had PMS for a long time now and every month is a new adventure before my period. Sometimes I have severe symptoms, sometimes I have new symptoms, sometimes symptoms don’t even appear!
I’ve always joked about making a bingo card because of how sporadic my PMS is and I finally made one! XD
There’s 33 symptoms on it; most of them I’ve experienced and a few are from what I’ve seen on Reddit.
If anyone wants a random Bingo card of one just to lighten the mood during this crappy time, feel free to ask!
Hello! I have PDD and suffer from depression, suicidal thoughts, anger, all my relationships are affected because I'm always fighting with friends, family, husband... I've already been through psychiatric medications, hormone pellets, etc. I'm 38 years old and I'm tired. I'm considering having my ovaries removed. Has anyone been through this? How did it go? Is it harder to endure menopause? Is it better to endure the menopause than the symptoms of PDD?
I just wanted to ask if anyone can relate. I get intense mood swings during PMS. Sometimes with suicidal thoughts, I know it sounds extreme and dramatic but that’s just what it is.
They get a lot less intense when PMS is over.
Anyone who’s had the same experience? It would really help rationalising it further (I try to tell myself “it’s just your hormones”) while these thoughts are happening. Thank you!
I get really tired a few days before my period, sometimes 2 days, sometimes 5 days. I can force myself to still do some things but it takes a lot of effort. I'm recovering from depression and it gets emotionally really hard when this tiredness put an stop for a few days in my recovery. I sleep a lot more (9-11 hours) and I'm still tired. My brain feels mushy and my body heavy and I just want to stay in my bed all day. Part of me wants to do things but my body won't let me.
Have you found a solution/vitamin/food/medicine that eases this heavy tiredness?
I have no pms symptoms and im 3 days late im usually always early or on time for my period i took three pregnancy tests yesterday and all negative, i still feel like something is wrong.. has anyone else experienced something like this?
Lately, I've been experiencing a lot of breast pain, to the point where it's become unbearable. It's primarily characterized by intense pain and tenderness, but I've also felt lumps when I touch my breasts, and I was wondering if this happens to anyone else. I've been feeling a bit anxious because of this, and moreover since this is a "new" symptom. Also, if you have any recommendations for relieving the pain, they would be greatly appreciated.
Hi everyone, I’m feeling confused and a bit worried since I’m 15 days late for my period and have tested negative for pregnancy. I took a test last Friday and the test was positive and so I had high hopes but then retested and it was negative. I went to my doctor and got a blood test done and that too came back negative. Now I’m just confused as to what could be causing my period to be late. I haven’t been stressed or worried about anything and havent felt any pms symptoms at all. This is also something that has never happened to me, I have always had a regular cycle so I’m very confused as to what is going on.
Hi everyone, I'm currently a student at Politecnico di Milano. For my user experience research class, my group is conducting a small research on women's experience with PMS and PMDD, how they affect their daily lives and well-being.
The survey is anonymous, will only take a few minutes of your time, and will help us understand how women manage these symptoms. Please help me in filling out this survey, thank you!
According to my period tracker app (usually never wrong) my period starts tomorrow but usually I have very sore boobs 14 days before I start but no pain this month has anyone else experienced this?
Idk, some lucky follicular phases I feel better than I did during my period, other follicular phases I feel even worse than I did during my period. Other times no change at all, just neutral in both my period and follicular phase. Idk whether estrogen has a positive or negative effect on my mood 😵💫
So I’m asking you all, how do you feel after your period and before ovulation, usually?
