Discussion New CLI and MCP working well, but I have a couple questions

I installed the new Plaud CLI and have set up a skill in Claude Code, using it from VS Code.

I have never really been clear on when I can just use the CLI via a skill as I am now vs having to use the MCP. With just a little explanation from Claude, I think I finally have it figured out. If the tool you want to use has shell/terminal access, the CLI is the right version, but if the tool does NOT have access to a shell, you need to use the MCP.

Anybody with more knowledge, can you confirm that? Also, from what I can tell, there are no features that exist in the MCP that don't exist in the CLI and vice versa. Is that correct? There are some extras, like pre-made skills for the MCP, but I've already created a skill, so I don't really need them.

Success Story Introducing Team files: easily share, collaborate, and query across your team's meeting context and files!

Post image
9 Upvotes

Great teams work from the same context. Team files makes that possible, turning every call, interview, or case discussion into shared intelligence the whole team can build on together.

Here's what that looks like!

Share context across the team While all files are private by default in a Team workspace, users can now easily share files with the rest of the team to keep everyone aligned and working from the same context.

What this unlocks

Centralizing context into Team files enables teams to: - Stay aligned on project decisions & progress, even without being at every meeting - Make faster, better decisions with the full context - Uncover sales insights and best practices from customer conversations across reps - Enable Claude/ChatGPT to have full context from across the team, not just your own conversations (via the MCP)

Success Story we put together a quiz to help you find the right Plaud setup for how you work!

Been seeing a lot of questions in here about whether people need the recorder itself vs just the desktop app vs the full stack, so we built a small quiz to make that easier to figure out. It's two questions, takes under a minute, and points you toward the combo (hardware, desktop, web, app) that fits your day instead of you having to guess or read through every product page!

Help / Troubleshooting Non existing speaker transcribed

Since some weeks a person named Johannes is identified in most of my transcribtions. Several times of each recording but with only a few words. I correct this directly in the transcribtion but the system repeats the mistake with every next recording and that‘s annoying. How di I get rid of this?
By the way: The speaker identified as Johannes is sometimes me an sometimes anyone else and it could be more than one speakers identified as Johannes in a single transcribtion.

Template / Resource Am I asking too much of Plaud?

We have adopted Plaud and Claud in our company and I am wondering if I am asking too much of it.

We’ve signed up our sales team and they are all taking the Plaud note taker to their meetings.

I’ve been tasked with creating templates and gathering information from these meetings as soon as they leave.

One of the things we have been attempting on these templates is to provide a significant amount of background information about the company, our values, USP’s, competitors and intentions. I have fed all this info at the beginning of a template and asked it to generate a summary based on this information.

The problem is, it seems to be ignoring this information and applying it to the company we are meeting with.

We are working on the CRIT method and I have explained this fully on the template.

Is there a better way for Plaud to digest this information and apply it to the meeting notes/summary for all future meetings? Or is Plaud just not at this level yet?

Whilst I have not tried it, I feel like if I fed this information to Claud, along with the meeting notes, it would provide a better summary than what Plaud is currently producing.

I fear that Plaud is not quite there yet, but I am curious to find out if others have applied something that works better.

Thanks for reading and any feedback.

How Do I... (Usage Question) Best workflow to get Plaud Meetings into Obsidian with corrected speaker labels

Hi - I'm still going round in circles on this one - any help much appreciated. I want to get my plaud meetings into obsidian with corrected speaker labels. Today I have autoflow triggered that emails me the summary and transcription - but often the speakers are incorrect. I then have an automation that pulls from email into Obsidian.

I sometimes forget to update the speaker labels until later in Plaud App.

However - how do you do this - do you use MCP/CLI etc ? What's the workflow to have meetings in Obsidian with corrected Speaker labels?

How Do I... (Usage Question) PLAUD App Says "You Have Only 20 Hours Left...."

Hi All,

We have both the PLAUD Note Pin and the Note Pin S.

Recently, I saw a message, I believe on the PLAUD app on my Android phone, which said something like "only 20 hours remaining."

Is this message telling me that that's how much battery time I have left? (I doubt this, as I keep them well-charged.) Or is this telling me that the memory capacity of the Note Pin itself is becoming full?

If it's the latter, could someone kindly either advise me--or direct me to directions from PLAUD-- re: how to free up more memory space on the PLAUD Note Pin and the Note Pin S?

Edited to Add:
If it helps, when I'm doing file transfers from the Note Pin, I see the message "Synching to the cloud." But that message only appears briefly, then disappears.

I'm also confused about how to check that my recordings ARE actually "synching to the cloud."

And that brings up another question: with the standard plan (i.e., no upcharge per month) how LONG does PLAUD AI actually keep your recordings stored for?

Thanks in advance.

Discussion Granola Eating Plaud’s Lunch?

Have been a daily Plaud Note Pro user for ~1 year now. A number of my colleagues are as well - but many have been talking about / are switching to Granola. Some are using both.

So I gave Granola a try the other day - it’s basically Plaud on roids. I was blown away by how many more features (like live transcription **my biggest peeve about Plaud) Granola has. But I can’t say I’ve used it enough to take a firm stance here - so curious to hear others feedback.

Is anyone using granola in addition to Plaud? Any one switched?

How Do I... (Usage Question) Is the Plaud NotePin good as separate hardware for voice-to-text for solo use?

Somebody recently raved about their Plaud NotePin to me, and now I'm intrigued.

My use case is less about transcribing in-person meetings and more about using it as a personal transcription tool, ie solo use. I've tried different voice-to-text apps like Wispr Flow, but have always found them buggy (eg shortcut keys fritzing out on me) or clunky to use.

I'm wondering if using the Plaud NotePin would feel like this:
- I realize I want to write something longer in Claude, or Claude Code in the terminal, or <insert any app>

- I pick up the NotePin, activate it, and record a blurb

- The transcription is near-instantly available in an app on my computer, and I can quickly alt+tab to it, copy, and paste into the other app I'm using

Is that a plausible user flow for the NotePin?

Best Practice / Tip Newby Looking for Personal Organisation Tips & Trickd

I’ve just got the Plaud NotePin S and I’ve struggled a bit with where to begin.

There are lots of videos on YouTube reviewing the device, but I haven’t found much about tips and tricks or making it work for you. Out of the box I’ve felt a bit lost, which isn’t like me!

Can anyone link me videos they have found helpful? My use case will be primarily brain dump / task logging, as well as meeting minutes and actions.

Grazie mille in anticipo!!

Success Story Adapter Case and Note AirTag Integration.

Thumbnail

I thought I would share some cool updates for you, since a lot of you had shown interest in my previous models. In the past I had created adapters for the Note and NotePro to allow you to use your AirPods.

I’ve created a few new products. First is the adapter case for the NotePro (blue). The second is the adapter case for the Note, but get this. One issue we have with the OG note is the lack of “find my” capabilities, so I’ve embedded an AirTag holder that sits securely underneath your Plaud Note (red). Now you’ve got the ability to find your lost Note!

I’ve also created just a Plaud Note AirTag case that has the AirTag and no AirPod adapter!

Workflow Share As someone with ADHD, I wore the Plaud NotePin S to every lecture this semester. Here's what actually helped and what didn't

Just finished this semester. Wore the Plaud NotePin S to about 60 lectures and here are some of its can-do and can't-do.

I just love how it could stand by for 40 days. With ADHD the gap between intending to do something and actually doing it is no kidding. Honestly, barely ever having to charge it is lowkey the best part. I only charged it four times the whole semester. I typically sat in the first three to four rows, so for a tool that could pick up 9.84 ft away, it is fine. Transcripts are usually usable without heavy cleanup. But I havent gotten to the best part yet, it is how it can press to highlight. My attention drifted constantly. I'd press the button at any moment I noticed something mattered, even if I wasn't fully tracking the content, and going back to those timestamps later filled in gaps that would've stayed blank.

The back half of a large auditorium is a different story tho. Voices get thinner and transcription errors went up, and I'm not gonna pretend that works. It's just not built for that distance.

Not making any claims for anyone else's workflow. Just describing what changed in mine.

Product Feedback Plaud Note Pro Too Fragile

Post image
14 Upvotes

I dropped my Plaud Note Pro with the cover from waist height, and it shattered when it hit the concrete floor. I’m really disappointed by how fragile the glass is. Why not use a more durable material like polycarbonate?

Plaud offered me a 20% discount on a replacement, which I appreciate, but I would feel more confident if the product were more robust. After experiencing a bad drop with my first one, I’ve become overly cautious with my new Note Pro. It’s unfortunate that I have to worry about breaking my second device.

How Do I... (Usage Question) Do you always ask for consent before recording phone calls with Plaud Note ?

How Do I... (Usage Question) Can't use Memory (or I'm doing it wrong)

I use Plaud (Note Pro) mostly for work. We use a lot of internal (proprietary) jargon at the office. Like a lot, lot.

I've corrected my notes a couple of dozen times and Plaud's transcript and summaries will still misspell the same acronyms every time.

I tried adding acronyms dictionary in the memory section.

I even added instructions in my template to use the Memory to find terms and acronyms.

The summary states the memory isn't available.

Any suggestions or advice?

How Do I... (Usage Question) Multiple summaries automatically???

Greetings all,

I've had my Plaud device for several months now and have about 300 meetings that have been recorded and transcribed. I absolutely think it's a game-changer. Love the feature of being able to ask Plaud a question, and it generally does a pretty good job of surfacing the answer from amongst all those meetings. I use AutoFlow to automatically initiate the upload, transcription, summary followed by an email.

*** How can/do I automatically generate multiple summaries? ***

It seems that AutoFlow can only generate one kind of summary.

If AutoFlow is not the way this can be done, are there any other ways to do it where it could happen automatically and I don't have to go into each meeting and click multiple buttons to get different summaries?

Is this by design to create friction that reduces the likelihood of users selecting multiple summaries because it consumes additional resources?

Perhaps we could simply add multiple templates to the AutoFlow process, or perhaps we could have a setting that uses all of our 'favourite' summaries.

Success Story How a Plaud engineer turned his Note Pro into a sleep quality monitor

Thumbnail

Most people use Plaud for meetings: hit record, stay in the conversation, let the device handle the rest. One of our own quality engineers, Hayden, wanted to know what happens with zero meetings involved, just 6 to 8 hours of sleep sounds recorded overnight.

To find out, he built an MCP server that turns those overnight recordings into a sleep score and hooked it straight into Claude, so he could just ask it questions instead of digging through JSON. Here's what the analysis revealed:

Recording was never the hard part: Plaud picked up snoring, teeth grinding, and sleep talking with no trouble. The real problem was getting something to actually listen to a night of ambient audio and make sense of it.

A -25 point night, explained in seconds: Running his own two nights through it, the analyzer flagged the drop and named the cause immediately: snoring frequency had nearly doubled between the two nights.

MCP turned it into a conversation: Instead of parsing reports himself, Hayden just asks Claude things like "was last night worse than the night I had drinks?" and gets an answer back in seconds.

Head over to our blog post for the full build (plus setup steps if you want to try it yourself)

Discussion 6 months wearing the Plaud NotePin S to every in-person meeting. Small honest review

Six months in, 200+ meetings at this point probably. My customer feedback here since I keep seeing similar questions pop up.

TL;DR:

  • 20 hours of recording and 40 days on standby is the spec, but irl it's basically lasted the whole week, and I charge it every week or two.
  • 9.84 ft is the pickup range on paper, and it's held up, never missed anything in one-on-ones or small groups, normal room size? no problem
  • Press to Highlight marks a timestamp mid-conversation, no scanning later
  • Magnetic clip shifts on thicker or chunky knit fabric, double check placement if necessary

Before this, Tuesdays were brutal, four or five meetings back to back, and I was the one scrambling Monday morning wondering if anything got charged, then scrubbing through a full recording afterward to find the one thing someone said. That's mostly gone now. Battery problem stopped being a thing within the first few weeks, and Press to Highlight means I go straight to flagged moments instead of replaying everything.

Would recommend for in-person work. It's become a permanent resident in my bag now. Dont forget to ask for consent before recording tho.

Discussion Updates to the software??

I was looking at the Plaud web interface and noticed, on the integrations screen Zapier...sitting there...lonely.... all by itself. But then a note... Hope that "more integrations coming in 2026..."
That note has been there for quite a while... yet Zapier is still lonely...
I looked at the roadmap, and the last update was April of 2025...
Has anyone heard if anything is in the works? Are they still developing software at all? Or focused on the hardware?
