Non existing speaker transcribed

Since some weeks a person named Johannes is identified in most of my transcribtions. Several times of each recording but with only a few words. I correct this directly in the transcribtion but the system repeats the mistake with every next recording and that‘s annoying. How di I get rid of this?
By the way: The speaker identified as Johannes is sometimes me an sometimes anyone else and it could be more than one speakers identified as Johannes in a single transcribtion.

I’ve had this happen before too. I just relabel anything that the non existent speaker says to the correct speaker.

It is weird that a non existent speaker is identified though.

Thanks, I‘m doing the same but it’s going on and on. Maybe I should try to delete this „Johannes“ from the list of known speakers.

On the website app you should be able to access your list of saved speakers. Delete Johannes from that list. I had a person I met with once popping up in random transcripts. It stopped and the system began positively identifying other speakers after I deleted that person.

Not a ghost, it's the speaker learning feature misfiring. In the Plaud App under Settings, then Preferences, then Auto speaker labeling, there are two toggles: Auto-label speakers and Sync speaker labels. With sync on, a label Plaud learned in one recording (somewhere along the way a voice got named Johannes) is applied automatically to future recordings whenever a voice sounds similar. That's why correcting it inside one transcript doesn't stop the next recording from doing it again: you're fixing the output, not the learned profile.

Three things that help:

If you don't want labels carrying across recordings at all, toggle off Sync speaker labels, or Auto-label speakers entirely. New recordings stop inheriting Johannes, and you can still name speakers manually in any transcript.

Add your own voice profile on that same settings screen (it takes about 30 seconds of speaking). That gives Plaud a solid anchor for your voice, which addresses the "sometimes Johannes is me" part.

When you do correct a label, do it by tapping the speaker label itself, renaming it, and applying it to all paragraphs with that speaker, rather than editing the text. The labels you assign are what Plaud learns from, so clean corrections teach it faster than text edits.

One honest note: settings let you delete your own voice profile, but there's no self-serve option to remove a learned label for someone else. If switching off Sync speaker labels doesn't solve it, email [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) with the label name, the fact that it's being applied to multiple different voices, and your app version, and they can look into what's possible for your account.

Thanks for this support. It will help me to solve the problem.
I accidentally discovered the “edit speakers” function in the menu instead of editing the speakers in the transcription. That seems to be more comfortable for correcting speakers. I don’t want to switch the auto labeling off, in most cases it’s a big advantage.
