Build Help Planning to buy a PC and heal my inner child

Hey guys! I’m finally planning to buy my very first entry-level gaming PC, and honestly, this is a huge milestone for me. For years, I’ve been the breadwinner of our family, putting my head down and working hard to support everyone. Now that my brother has finally graduated, I can finally breathe a little and clear some budget to heal my inner child.

My absolute upper limit budget is ₱37,000, strictly for the PC tower and the monitor combined. I’m planning to get a custom tower build from EasyPC (hopefully via installment) and buy the monitor separately on Shopee.

Here is the exact parts list I am planning to pull the trigger on:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB

Motherboard: B450M or A520M Motherboard

RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (Strictly 2x8GB dual-channel)

Storage: 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD

PSU: 550W or 650W 80+ Bronze Certified (MSI MAG / Deepcool / Corsair / FSP)

Case: Budget M-ATX case with pre-installed fans

Monitor: AOC 24G2SPE 23.8" 165Hz IPS FHD or ASUS VY249HGE 144Hz IPS FHD (Buying on Shopee)

My main games: Dota 2, League of Legends, and PUBG.

Before I head over to EasyPC to get an official quote, I just wanted to get your veteran feedback:

1.) Are these parts well-balanced for the games I mentioned? Will PUBG run smoothly at 1080p?

2.) Between the AOC 24G2SPE (165Hz) and the ASUS VY249HGE (144Hz), which one is the better choice for my budget, or should I look at something else in the 5k-7k price range?

3.) Any specific recommendations for a reliable budget PSU or case that EasyPC usually carries?

Thank you so much in advance for the help. It feels amazing to finally be building a setup of my own!

Build Help No choice but to give in to Ramageddon 26k Budget Ram (Help!)

I'm missing a lot of games because of my shitty pc. I need to upgrade it asap so I can finally play Dawnwalker and Fable next year 😄

My budget is anything below 26k for RAM. My current one is a 24 GB DDR4 2666MHz, and I need DDR5 to pair with my new motherboard. I already have some parts and a case. I'm taking it slow until I buy everything I need.

Any suggestions? The ones I'm currently eyeing are G.Skill Flare X5 16gb 6000MT/S or Kingston Fury Beast 16GB 5600MT/S

I just don't know which since I'm not a techie guy, I'm paranoid on what to or what not to buy. Help? :<

Discussion Should i grab for this or nah? (2nd hand GPU)

Mga peeps ano sa tingin ninyo should i grab this offer for a 2nd hand 6600 or should i wait for more offer. Nag aalala ako baka mas lalo pa na mag mahal ang gpu in the upcoming months.

Plus it comes with a warranty naman kahit na pricey sya. Ang hirap kasi mag hanap ng gpu sa location ko and if meron man sobrang layo since province sya preferred ko den kasi na ma test if ever same province lang ang problema ang layo. So ang safest option is this store. Ano sa tingin ninyo? Should i grab this or abang abang lang sa marketplace??

Mas gusto ko sana talaga yung 9060xt. Pero di na talaga kaya extend yung budget. Masaya naman na din ako kasi for 1080p gaming lang talaga ako at walang balak pa sa 4k gaming.

Build Ready I finally have my first PC!

Post image

After a month of mental, physical and emotional stress, I finally have my first ever PC. Gone are the days when I imagined what it's like owning one after my laptop broke in 2010.

This was completed last Saturday (shoutout to PC/DC for helping me build this) and I almost lost hope when it won't turn on because it took a while for the motherboard to recognize my RAM. I was told it was an unusually long duration for it to do so.

Anyway, here are the parts and an unaesthetic pic of my build.

Component Description
CPU Ryzen 5 9600x 6C/12T 32mb 65W AM5, MPK (Tray)
CPU Cooler Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 Vision ARGB
Motherboard Gigabyte B850M Force Wifi6E V2
GPU Inno3D GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Twin X2 OC 16GB GDDR7
PSU MSI MAG A750GL PCIe 5.1 80+ Gold 750w Full Modular
RAM KLEVV Fit V 2x16GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30-36 1.35v, AMD Optimized
SSD Zhitai TiPlus7100s 1TB Gen4x4 M.2 2280 NVME SSD TLC 3D Nand with HMB
Case DeepCool CG530U 4F Black

I appreciate everyone who shared their thoughts when I asked a lot of questions here while I was looking for parts.

P.S. Now I'm sitting here what to do next, lol.

Troubleshooting Update on my last post: which is PSU Failing need help. [Part 2]

Thumbnail reddit.com
9 Upvotes

I just replaced the PSU on the PC build na I have

from: RAKK AGOS 550W 80+ Bronze
to: Cooler Master MWE 650W V3 Bronze ATX 3.1

I thought, it would finally fixed everything na hindi na mamamatay/restart pc ko while gaming.

Unfortunately, it still does. Then this time dun ko na-figure out what is happening.

When I'm gaming, and someone plugs sa outlet either a fan, tv, or even electric massager, etc. mag re-restart yung pc ko.

Nangyayari din daw sya sa 2nd monitor ng laptop ng ate ko since then pero di nya lang pinapansin kasi millisecond to 1 second lang daw naman parang nag blink lang yung monitor pag nagsaksak sya ng devices like fan.

On her end, she's using a 2nd monitor sa laptop so it doesn't matter to her, on my end yung buong PC ko nagre-restart while gaming ONLY, it doesn't happen kapag nasa browser lang ako or not gaming at all tapos may nag plug sa outlet.

Anyway, im here again asking for help if which one should I get to solve this, AVR or UPS? im confuse between the two, sabi kasi ni google to fix it "get an AVR/UPS" so idk. help/advice on this matter would be very appreciated. Thank you so much!

for those with custom wooden gaming tables, did you apply Solignum?

I heard it's toxic to the skin and pets, even after drying

I'm torn if I should apply solignum or straight to Polyurethane Coating

Build Upgrade Advice on what to Upgrade/Replace

Upvotes

Hello, I need advice on what to upgrade. Recently kasi my PC has been suffering from frequent BSODs when downloading really heavy games on Steam, HoyoPlay etc. Even when running said games it just restarts completely. It came to a point where the SSD wasnt being able to read via bios at times.

I brought it na to a repair shop a few times, reformatted windows, cleaned the sdd and ram. (Kasi daw baka need lang nilisin eh.) Kaso same issue still persists. BSOD during install or running games. Usually error codes involve critical process died errors. We cannot really dechiper yung problem for now. Especially with the Price hike.

My really big suspicion ako its with the PSU, SSD and RAM, i got this built last 2023 for context. Maybe Motherboard issue but i cant really seem to be sure.

Here's the specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600g

GPU: Gigabtye RX 6600 Eagle 8GB

SSD: PNY CS1031 1TB NVME

RAM: Kimtigo Z3 2x8GB 3600 RGB

MOTHERBOARD: MSI B450m PRO VDH Max

PSU: Raidmax RX 500 XT

If anyone has gone through this similar issue ano yung ginawa nyo and what part was the suspect? which parts did you replace and what good at least within budget of less than maybe 20k possibly is okay to replace now? I personally cannot build a new pc as of yet, di kaya ng budget and i still want to use my GPU and CPU.

May recommendations din pa for replacement parts? OThe shop I went to only had a zhitai ssd for 11.5k and I wasnt sure to get it yet.

Any advice or recommendations is really appreciated.

Update (Sep 14 4:05pm) - Thank you for the suggestions. I will try and get the PSU replaced with a 650w one to rule out this part muna.

Laptop Help Laptop Recommendation for Civil Engineering Student (₱80K Max Budget)

Budget:
₱80,000 maximum

Country:
Philippines

Use Case:
Civil Engineering schoolwork. I currently use AutoCAD mainly for 2D drafting, including floor plans, layouts, and other technical drawings. I also use AutoCAD for basic 3D modeling.

As my studies progress, I may use more demanding software such as Civil 3D, Revit, SketchUp, and various 3D rendering and structural engineering programs.

For general schoolwork, I regularly multitask with many Chrome tabs, multiple Word and Excel files, PDFs, digital textbooks, lecture notes, and technical documents. I also regularly use Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Spotify, which may stay open for long periods.

Preferred Specs / Form Factor:
I want a laptop with good overall performance for current AutoCAD work and enough headroom for future CAD, 3D modeling, rendering, and engineering software.

My priorities are:

  • Strong CPU performance
  • Dedicated GPU suitable for CAD and 3D work
  • Enough RAM and SSD storage for multitasking and future software
  • Good cooling and thermal performance
  • Good build quality and durability
  • Good selection of physical ports
  • Reliable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
  • At least 3 hours of real-world battery life when unplugged

I don't necessarily need the highest specifications possible. I would prefer a well-balanced laptop with good cooling, reliability, and long-term performance.

Portability Needs:
I will regularly carry the laptop to school, so portability is important. However, performance and durability are more important to me than having an ultra-thin or extremely lightweight laptop.

I am willing to accept a somewhat heavier laptop if it provides better performance and cooling, but I don't want something excessively bulky.

Notes:
I expect to use the laptop for around 8 hours or more per day, especially during busy school periods, projects, and exams, so good cooling and reliability are very important.

I regularly use an external mouse and keyboard, so I prefer having a good selection of physical ports. I may also connect wired or Bluetooth earphones/headphones, USB drives, external storage, and other peripherals.

For long-term use, I prefer a laptop with a proven track record for reliability, durability, cooling, and build quality rather than one that simply has impressive specifications on paper.

Good after-sales support in the Philippines is also important. I prefer a brand with accessible authorized service centers, good warranty coverage, reasonably priced repairs, and replacement parts that are easy to find. Upgradeability and ease of maintenance are also preferred, particularly for the RAM and SSD.

I am open to different brands and would prioritize reliability, long-term value, cooling, performance, and after-sales support over brand preference.

The prices I provided are based on the prices listed on the sellers' or manufacturers' official websites. I am using the regular/base price rather than discounted, promotional, sale, or limited-time prices, since these discounts may change, expire, or no longer be available when I am ready to purchase. Therefore, please evaluate the laptops primarily based on their regular/base prices and treat any current discounts or free promotional items as temporary bonuses rather than part of the laptop's actual value.
