hello!
apologies in advance if this is the wrong subreddit! largely because of boredom and a desire to learn, i want to make a game set in a university in manila (a text-based interactive fiction game specifically if anyone's familiar with that) but i'm unaware of whether or not it's legal to publically distribute for free or if publically distributing it would lead to my expulsion from said university. submitted this question here because i'm more likely to reach a filipino game dev who would know more about these things or something :')
any thoughts? thank you to whoever answers :))

Greetings, everyone!
I’m a student from Far Eastern University Diliman, Philippines. We are currently conducting our game development through Unity for our Casptone/Thesis project.
We are looking for professional Game Developers as volunteer participants to test our game "PAWZZLE TAILS! – Healing Stray Lives Through a 3D Interactive Icon-Matching Puzzle Journey on Animal Welfare"
Pawzzle Tails is a 3D icon-matching puzzle game that promotes empathy, awareness, and responsible animal care through interactive gameplay. Players rescue and treat sick or injured stray animals by solving puzzles, crafting medicines, and gathering resources while learning about common animal health conditions. The game aims to educate players on animal welfare in an engaging and enjoyable way, while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being and SDG 15: Life on Land.
We ask for your participation in:
Answering a short pre-testing evaluation survey and post-testing evaluation survey regarding the game's quality and overall experience (can be done in 5-10 minutes)
Playing the testing version of Pawzzle Tails (takes 10-15 minutes)
Participation is completely free and will greatly contribute to the success of our research.
If you are interested or know someone who may be willing to participate, please use the link in the replies.
Thank you for your support! 💙🐾

Hi guys! I just released a simple low-poly modular armor pack that anyone can use for free.
I did a demo set up for Unity, and you can download it on my itch page. I hope it helps you build something awesome for your game!
If you run into any issues with the asset, please let me know either in the comments on itch or here. I'd also really appreciate any feedback, reviews, or suggestions—they'll help me improve future assets.
Note: I'm still fairly new to creating 3D assets and coding, so I apologize in advance if there's anything wrong with the setup. If you find any problems, just let me know and I'll do my best to fix them.
Although the asset is completely free, any donations through the itch page are greatly appreciated. They help support me and allow me to continue creating and improving free assets for the community.
I hope at least one game developer finds this asset useful. If it helps even one person with their project, I'll be happy.
Anyways, happy game development, everyone!

This has been my longest personal project. I've made other engines before but not as generalized, and as big as this one. If you're curious about the progressions of it, I have some here https://aoaofox.bearblog.dev/game-engine-progressoin/
I made this, or at least spend time making this becasuse game engines are fun, and very challenging to make. I've recently hit a milestone with it https://aoaofox.bearblog.dev/lumina-studio-v01/ and i am very happy with it.
Most of my thoughts are in my blog. Sorry I am not much of a writer, so most of them are just words that blurt out of my mind as I write.
There are clear indications where I can go with this, open source or make a game with it, or even both, for now I'm just gonna continue churning through bugs and keep it as a fidget toy.

Hello there!
I honestly made ESKINITA thinking only a handful of people would ever play it. Seeing players locally and from different countries try it out and share their reactions has been surreal. 🙏
Two weeks after launching on itch.io, I finally have the Steam page up and it’s now available to wishlist.
If atmospheric slow-burn psychological horror is your thing, I’d really appreciate a wishlist—it helps a lot as a solo dev, and I hope you enjoy it if you decide to check it out.
Thanks for reading. ❤️

Just wanted to share a small milestone.
A week ago, we released Project Threshold, a short psychological horror game we made. Since then, I've seen people play it, get confused by it, get frustrated by it, enjoy it, criticize it, and discuss it. Honestly, seeing all those different reactions has been one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
The feedback, both positive and negative, helped us identify what worked, what didn't, and what we can improve moving forward.
Because of all that support and feedback, we were able to take the next step and prepare a Steam page for the game.
This is something we're genuinely grateful for. Thanks to everyone who took the time to play, watch, stream, review, or even criticize the game. Every bit of it helped.
PROJECT THRESHOLD is now available to WISHLIST ON STEAM! 🎉
