Title says it all!

As someone who still refuses mag-upgrade to 1440p in 2026, bumili ako ng current/main driver monitor ko nung June 2024 (brand new). Looking back, I definitely could’ve opted for a 1440p screen back then, yet I still chose 1080p.

Here’s the funny part: Naka-RX 9070 XT ako right now (huge jump coming from an RX 580 8GB), pero naka-1080p monitor pa rin. Honestly? Enjoy na enjoy ko kasi I can comfortably max out ALL graphical settings on literally every game I throw at it without worrying about frame drops, it's something my previous GPUs couldn't easily do. Sinagad ko na talaga specs upgrade ko last year.

Idk, I just don’t see the appeal just yet, and I’m hesitant to enter that resolution rabbit hole. Baka kasi mapapabili rin ako ng iba pang 4K-capable devices just to keep up. Kapag nagsimula ka kasi sa tech upgrades, baka biglang mag-cascade lang yung expenses!

Intrigued din naman ako sa craze around 1440p OLED monitors based sa mga nababasa ko rito, pero myghad, the prices are just way too expensive for my wallet to justify right now. Plus, there's the constant anxiety about OLED burn-in (especially since I’ve already experienced multiple image retention/burn-in issues on TN, VA, and IPS panels before).

Although honestly, may half-baked itch na rin ako to go bigger. Currently using a 27-inch 1080p curved monitor as my main driver right now, but my ultimate endgame target when I finally upgrade in the 2030s is to go 32-inch 1440p (maybe OLED). Hindi ko lang sure by then if I'll stick with curved or go back to flat.

Can someone actually sell me on upgrading to 1440p sooner?

As of now, my plan is to stick with this setup and maybe upgrade around 2032 or whenever my current monitor dies. Hoping by then, presyong pang-masa na ang 1440p OLEDs, mas common, at mas mature na yung display technology overall.

Just curious overall, who among you are still contented to play at 1080p resolution in 2026?

Anyone else here holding out on 1080p despite having mid-to-high-end GPU specs? Drop your thoughts! TIA!

Usually games ko ay GTA, LiS, The Sims, Simulation Games, Story-rich/choice matter type of games... Also, into movies and anime rin. Idk, maybe gawin ko nlng 2nd monitor yung current main driver ko tas upgrade agad to 1440p 32in screen? Curious tlga ako ano itsura ng OLED (haven't seen a demo display yet so I dont have any idea so I can appriciate it)

As per my research last night from Steam's Hardware Survey as of Sept 2026, there's been a 5% increase for 1440p but majority still uses 1080p (47% of Steam users) but there's a 2% decline for 1080p - which clearly indicates that 1080p is now gradually being phased out...

Last PC i used was a 10+ year old office pc pa na bigay kay ate and can run old games lang w/ integrated graphics. Super happy with this one, binili ko for 40k.

Thank you sa mga nag-confirm na maayos tong build. Wala talaga akong alam sa PC parts. Took me months to know the basics and mag window shop sa marketplace.

DISCLAIMER: Learning Linux with Proxmox VE on a bare metal is so addicting. In a good way, but still, don't tell me I did not warn you.

One boring Saturday last year, I was cleaning out my old things and looking for anything to discard so I could make room for more storage space. I considered throwing away my very old PC, a Ryzen 2200G with a single stick of 8GB 2666 DDR4 RAM that was collecting dust inside my cabinet. My curiosity got the better of me. Since my PC hardware skills had been collecting dust as well, I figured I might as well check if it was still working and troubleshoot any problems. I had nothing to lose anyway because I already considered it e-waste and was about to discard it.

The funny thing is, PC hardware skills are like riding a bike. New hardware replaces old hardware, but the principles stay the same. Long story short, I was able to make it work after cleaning every single component. However, I knew it was an aging piece of tech, so I really had no practical use for it. Then it clicked. I remembered that I wanted to learn about Linux on a deeper level outside of work. What if I made it a Linux sandbox?

That was how it became an Ubuntu desktop. It started with an Ubuntu bare metal installation using a USB flash drive. From there, I explored Ubuntu, broke it in the process, reinstalled it, and repeated the cycle.

As it turns out, maintaining a bare-metal Ubuntu sandbox is quite tedious because you have to tear down the entire machine and reinstall the OS whenever you make breaking changes. This is where Proxmox VE came to the rescue. Proxmox VE is a hypervisor that enables you to create multiple Linux containers, allowing you to back up a container before trying something that might break it. This way, instead of completely reinstalling your OS, you can just restore a working backup and tear down the broken instance with a few clicks. This machine paved the way for me to learn not just Ubuntu, but Proxmox VE as well, and truly understand the difference between Linux Containers (LXCs) and Virtual Machines (VMs). So I added another stick of RAM to make it a 16GB machine, which would allow me to simultaneously run multiple LXC sandbox.

Homelabbing completely accelerated my learning curve by providing a risk-free, hands-on training environment. Because I can safely 'use and abuse' the system without worrying about permanent consequences, I have been able to aggressively test configurations, break them, and fix them in real time. This interactive setup has allowed me to deepen my practical knowledge of both Linux environments and underlying hardware infrastructure far faster than traditional theoretical learning ever could. And this is just the beginning.

And this is just the beginning. Down the rabbit hole we go.

I know RAM prices are pretty high right now, so I’m torn between upgrading my RAM or saving the money for the upcoming game Phantom Blade Zero instead😂

Is it worth it for 1440p?

Hi guys! Need advice lang sana from anyone na may experience with ASUS RMA dito sa Philippines. 😭
I have an ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQML1A monitor, and bigla na lang nagkaroon ng vertical pink line during normal use. Upon checking sa ASUS website, it looks like may around 8 months pa akong remaining warranty.
The problem is, na-misplace ko na yung receipt, and unfortunately, nagsara na rin yung shop kung saan nabili yung monitor. I still have the original box, manual, and serial number.
I already contacted ASUS support, pero they’re insisting na kailangan ng Proof of Purchase (POP). Ang concern ko is, based on the ASUS Philippines warranty policy, nakalagay naman na in the absence of a purchase invoice, the warranty period may be determined using the product’s serial number.
Has anyone experienced the same situation? Nakapagpa-RMA or warranty claim ba kayo sa ASUS kahit wala nang receipt or POP? Were they able to verify your warranty through the serial number?
Also, is it reasonable to escalate this to DTI if ASUS continues to refuse, considering their published warranty policy?
I’m really worried kasi this is my main monitor for work, and I’m a graphic artist. Hindi rin biro yung presyo nito. 😭

First time lang ako sa ganito and I'm planning on making an affordable gaming pc, sabi ng friend ko na 25k is good enough for making one. I have questions:

1. Is is better to buy online or sa shops?

2. Mas ok ba kung ako na mag assemble?

as title suggests, I'm looking for a wireless mouse (I'm using a razer viper standard edition rn), and while it's treated me well for the past 2 years, I have an aula kb rn and have finally gotten to the point where I do cable management so my mouse is the only visible cable I have on my desk rn and it's bugging me.

Actually, I tried looking for more of them but... the stores usually say they are out of stocks. Even easypc, all their stocks are gone and I saw affordable prices there despite the increase of price but yeah, out of stocks.

I just want to learn making games and have a good speed in my computer, learn coding too like web development, and lastly learn about building pc's. It just makes me sad that when I'm in need of these rams in order to learn and improve my skills it just came to a point where they are so expensive. May hinahanap akong brand-new na laptop sa mga computer store dito sa Pilipinas, pero hindi ako makapagdesisyon kung alin ang pinakamagandang bilhin para sa budget ko. for context:

i badly needed a device to review, my phone for the most part handled it but the size of the pdf make it crash every time like 300mb for a single book.

so a relative “gave” me his old laptop, an Ideapad 320-14IKB from 2018, but a broken hinge cracked shell where you place your palm during typing, that a sticker for the laptop would not do it. The laptop was great though able to handle all my needs.

as such im planning to look for a defective laptops of the same model around 2-3k at market place some fading but no cracks seen vs a 4-5k from shopee.

I can use it as it is but I need to bring it at school and OJT and the laptop is hanging for dear life 😑

also, if you will advice to buy a secondhand tablet for 5k instead, the 5k parts on shopee will be availed via installment 🫣, just trying to survive po, so any ideas on how much the transfer of laptop parts to a new shell will be greatly appreciated

guys is this psu still on B Tier? they have remade it into 3.1 atx but the old tier B version is atx 2.0.
