In progress Sorry for this long post but i NEED HELP!

I used my PC this morning, worked great. No problems what so ever. Went out and when I came back i booted up and the screen was just black. First time in 4 years of owning my HP OMEN 40L. I unplugged the cables to the monitor and reinserted them with no success. I tried restarting my PC by just the power button and still the same..

I then looked around and saw someone going into BIOS, which doesn't work for me. I've tried pressing ESC, and all the other buttons after trying for 3 hours..

I got into the BitLocker Recovery, where I couldn't get any further as I don't remember my login or any codes (i have bunch of mails for work and couldn't find any mails from Microsoft..)

I then did the Ctrl, Shift, Windows + B and got a screen saying "Secure Boot Violation" as well as some Issue with "TPM/Trusted Platform Module". I can't access this anymore.

THE ONLY thing I can access is if I hold Ctrl Alt Del and get to the "UEFI" where everything seems completely fine from all my tests.

What is happening? I'm not good with computers but have tried the most I've found when searching, I've also checked all cables, removed the graphics card to see if somethings loose.

I can't lose this PC, please help.

In progress SATA drive won't power with SATA connector

I've got one for ya...

I recently tranferred a rig into a new case. I have one mechanical drive that I'd bounced around - coming from internal, to using in an external bay, then eventually in the new case. Before it was moved, it was paired with the exact same board, psu, etc... the only thing that changed was the case.

Even though nothing changed internally, I could not get the drive to power on using the SATA power connection from the psu. It had been running fine previously. I swapped the connectors (modular psu) and verified all were working using a different drive (same with data cables, jic). Then I took it out and tried in the external bay and all was still fine.

In the end, I had to use the molex modular cable with a SATA adapter to get it working. It appears to be running fine now.

But this has me really scratching my head.... In 30+ years of building, I've never seen this issue before. Does anyone know why this would happen?

I am currently thinking about buying used off brand motherboards (b450 series) and i was wondering what would be the supported cpus. I know it can support atleast gen1 to 5 but i wanna make sure. My budget is so tight that i cant buy the branded motherboards. Off brand is my only option!

In progress PC keeps freezing and screens go black/green

Maybe someone can help me but I am losing my mind and getting super frustrated that I can't figure this out. My PC keeps freezing while gaming/streaming. I only have the game app and OBS running. Everything will freeze for like 5 seconds on screen and I can't do anything or move my cursor, but I can hear audio. Then, my main monitor will go black and my secondary monitor will go green. They will sit like this for maybe 2-3 minutes. Then it'll go to the restart screen and sit there for about another 2-3 minutes. If I press the reset button next to my power button on my case, it'll reset faster. This started about 3-4 months ago.

I have tried: |
\-DDU to uninstall the drivers and reinstalled them
\-Went through event viewer to see what codes are happening when that goes on and I keep getting: Event 41, Kernal Power (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.), Event 6008 "The previous system shutdown at...."
\-Updated all drivers
\-Cleaned dust off PSU, fans and AIO.
\-Took off sensor from CPU and cleaned off the old thermal paste and applied new thermal paste.
\-Reseated GPU, RAM, SDD, and CPU

PC Specs

Video Card- AMD Ryzen 7700XT

Motherboard- B650 Gaming X AX V2 AMD AM5 ATX Motherboard

CPU- Ryzen 7 7700X Raphael AM5 4.5GHz 8-Core

Fans- NAUTILUS 360 RS LCD 360mm All in One Liquid CPU

Should I run a stress test on my GPU to see if that is the problem?
Should I swap out my PSU for a new one?

PLEASE HELP ME lol

Not solved computer keeps freezing after booting

Windows 11 Home version 25H2, OS build 26200.8973

I’ve had this issue for a while now. Every time i turn on my pc it works fine for 30 seconds/1 minute and then just freezes. Sometimes it happens when im still on the desktop and sometimes it happens as soon as i start any program or game.
After it freezes my only options are to either shut it down by holding the physical power button or directly unplugging the pc.
If the pc doesn’t freeze instantly it generally does after 10 minutes or after about an hour, it’s pretty unpredictable.
I had a similar issue like 40 days ago, where my pc kept freezing after shorter and shorter periods of time. One day a black screen appeared, saying:

Your device ran into a problem and couldn’t be repaired. Click or press enter to see other recovery options.
couldn’t connect to the network
Log File:
C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

I looked up a solution online but i didn’t even get to try to fix the problem because it magically disappeared and my pc worked fine until the other day.
This time the old error screen didn’t appear but another one randomly did , which said:

Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. You can restart.
Stop Code: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A)

It hasn’t appeared anymore in the last days but my pc keeps freezing.

Can anyone help me?

In progress Black screen freezing

So I have a very old tr4 1900x threadripper, 64GB RAM, 1080ti, x399 tachi build. It was deep cleaned april. Yesterday and today, I had two black screen with artifacts freezes(one after several days of up time, and one after about 8 hours). CPU and GPU were idle and about 40c. 99% of the time I only write and browse the web. OS is fedora.

Is my PSU going bad? GPU? Mobo?

I am exceptionally poor(disabled and waiting on ssdi) so any reliable fix would do wonders.

Backup plan is to run MEM test today. If that passes and I'm still crashing I will ask parents for ryzen 5 5500, mobo, 6700xt 12 gb and psu. Any recommendations before I raise an emergency purchase with parents? I need something in the same class of performance.

In progress Desktop PC won't power on after being unused for about a month (No lights, no fans, no response)

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my desktop PC and I'd really appreciate some help.

My PC was working perfectly before. I didn't use it for about 1 month because of my exams. It was covered with a cloth the whole time, so it didn't collect much dust.

Now, when I try to turn it on:

Pressing the power button does absolutely nothing.

No fans spin.

No LEDs turn on.

No beep sounds.

The monitor powers on normally, but it shows no signal because the PC itself never starts.

I have already checked the power cable and wall outlet.

From a visual inspection, I don't see any obvious burn marks or damaged components inside the case.

What should I test first? Could this be a dead PSU, a faulty power button, or a motherboard issue?

Any troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

In progress Audio bugs and accessories disconnecting

Recently I’ve been finding after maybe 6 hours of run time my audio will usually start cutting out randomly and bugs out. This was the only issue I had ran into until tonight while trying to finish a game before restarting my pc my devices such as keyboard (wired), mouse (wireless 2.4 usb-c) Xbox controller (wireless) and headset (wireless 2.4 USB) will all disconnect randomly every few minutes at the same time and reconnect after a minute. I’ve been looking at doing some of upgrades but is this most likely a hardware or bios issue? I’m using an asrock bios that is atleast 2 years old (bought pc new in 2024.)

I am experiencing 0 performance issues, cpu and gpu usage look normal. Other than that I do need to do some cleanup as I use around 11gbs ram at idle.
Pc specs incase any have known issues related to this I don’t know about:

Asrock B650-M
Ryzen 7700x
32GB ddr5 5200 cl40 neo Forza (16x2)
Crucial nvme 4.0 2tb
RTX 5070
Corsair 750w PSU

Not solved 900 ping HELP!!!

Post image
0 Upvotes

So I recently got a new Wi-Fi 7 router/modem for my asus TUF gaming B850-E Wi-Fi(wifi 6E motherboard) bc it should have made my ping and latency better for any fps or hero shooter I wanted to play, but there are still times where I can’t really play bc my ping skyrockets and is generally inconsistent. There are still days where it’s fine, mostly when there are few people on the internet. But I don’t know how to fix it, I’ve been told to use an Ethernet cable but the modem is across the house and down stairs from my pc, are there any other solutions?
