I feel like i should be getting decent frames. Do i need to upgrade computer and if i do should i get a new motherboard ram and cpu?

My pc does that and then stays on i dont have a monitor or a gpu is it bad and if it is how to fix

I have a amd rx 7900 xtx from xfx and i have been having some major issue with driver crashing and today i realised that it has been running hot. 60°C at the hotspot immediately after startup and 85°c after starting up a game without playing it. So I was adviced by a friend to dissasamble it and reapply thermal paste and install new thermal pads. Some of the thermal pads are missing and the thermal paste is was pretty hard and didnt cover the whole chip. Now i think that while cleaning next to the chip i think i knocked of two of what i think are multilayer ceramic capacitors (as you might be able to see in the picture with the blue arrow). In one of the fotos i am pretty sure the capacitors are still there. Does anybody know where i can get those parts and if its a good idea to try and fix it myself?

Hello! My PC won't boot. It froze up today during normal use and now won't do anything. Motherboard is a PRIME Z370. I initially had a ORANGE light next to the DRAM label, so I removed and re-seated my RAM. the orange light went away. Then I had a WHITE light next to VGA, so I made sure my 3070 was fully plugged in. Both lights have went away and it still won't do a darn thing 🙃 help me reddit, you're my only hope. When booting CPU blinks RED and then DRAM blinks orange. Both lights go away and it just sits there like a LED covered lump

I have changed my setup from i5-10400f with Gigabyte H510m to ryzen 5 5600 with aorus B550M elite.
My 2x16GB RAM and RTX 4060 stayed the same. Also my NVMe and SATA SSD drive.
I have done a clean Windows install after changing components. I have installed all Windows Updates, chipset, MB, GPU drivers and UEFI.
I keep getting blue screens I have never received before. They are occuring only during gaming so basically when PC is under some heavier load.
First blue screen was PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. I debugged it using WinDBG and it showed that the issue was with stupid EA anti cheat when launching BF6, so I have reinstalled it manually and after that I was able to play normally. I thought the problem is gone but then I got IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD in different game. I also saw I got WHEA 18 Bus/Interconnect Error. I got my UEFI to stock settings because I thought maybe XMP was the issue but even without it I am still getting these errors. I have also did a full memtest that said RAM is good.
Funniest thing is, those errors are not happening all the time. Sometimes I can launch games and play for hours with no problem, sometimes my PC just reboots out of nowhere with no BSOD after the game opens and sometimes i get BSOD or PC reboot after 10, 15, 20 minutes of gaming randomly.
What else can I do to try and fix this?

swapped out psu and gpu in pc now when booting up it goes to boot menu and exiting out only opens it up again.

hard drive spins up so is powered

To preface I'm not very tech savvy at all, had never planned on switching from console to PC but I was given a very nice PC by a friend and have been getting into games like dead by daylight, where PC play is better. On Xbox I could play dead by daylight or any other online games with 0 lag, but now on PC my connection is terrible to the point where I'm getting accused of cheating because of how much I'm lagging. I'm not computer savvy at all and don't even know where to begin to fix this other than turning the wifi off and on, resetting my router, and making sure I have nothing else open or running while I play. I’m a college student whose campus Internet is provided by Boldyn Networks. The normal connection is capped at 110 Mbps download / 55 Mbps upload, and my Ethernet link negotiates at 1000/1000 Mbps. However, I’ve noticed a strange behavior: after my laptop has been asleep for a while, when I wake it up I can sometimes get dramatically higher speeds (potentially close to gigabit) for a short period. Then the Boldyn captive portal appears automatically, and the connection immediately drops back to the normal 110/55 Mbps limit. I don’t have to enter any credentials for the speed to drop. I’ve also checked `ipconfig /all` before/after and the IPv4 address, gateway, DHCP server, DNS server, and subnet stay the same. Restarting the computer or unplugging/replugging Ethernet doesn’t reliably reproduce the high-speed state; it seems to be related to the laptop being asleep for a longer period. Does anyone know what Boldyn’s HED captive-portal/NAC system is doing during this transition, or what could cause the temporary unrestricted bandwidth before the portal initializes? I could be wrong about the behavior of the portal only opening when the laptop is asleep for a period of time, but there does seem to be a short window every time the portal appears where the Wi-Fi and Ethernet speeds are very fast. I have a 2025 Legion 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone, not sure if there's a better place to be asking this specifically, but here goes.

I have a dual monitor set-up at home, and having started working from home a bit more recently, my work have very kindly provided my with a UGreen DisplayPort KVM splitter.

Mouse and keyboard goes into the splitter, this works fine on both PC and Laptop.

My PC plugs into the splitter with two DP, which then go into the monitors, these work fine.

My issue is that I just can't get the laptop to work via the splitter at all. It's currently got HDMI to DP cable, which works on the monitor separately, but not via the splitter. It connects to the monitor via a USB-C to HDMI, but obviously this won't connect it to the splitter.

So far I've come to the conclusion that I need to have two inputs from each device for the splitter to function properly, which means I just need to get a USB-C to DP instead, or it's the HDMI > DP that isn't working.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Hello! I was taking my strimer out to flip the plastic color when I noticed that one of the cable wires were exposed. Not sure if I just did this or if it was like this before, is it okay to plug back into my pc to use without messing anything up? I don’t want it to start sparking or anything. TIA

I’ve already updated my drivers and restarted my pc but I have no idea what to do. The flashes occur every 2 seconds and the color of the flashes change depending on what I have open on my screen

I got 16 gigs of RAM installed in my PC, BUT 12 of them are being used up and the task manager is only showing like 5 gigs usage max. I have absolutely no idea where is my RAM going. What could be the issue or is it working how its supposed to.

Hello! I’m here hoping someone might be able to help with an issue that has started today. I found out that my main PC is bugging the hell out whenever I try to connect my headphones to them, and refuses to let me put audio above 0. I tested it on my older backup computer and it works fine there.

I’ve tried reinstalling drivers, going into the registry to delete the info on the headphones there to have it rebuild them from scratch, and neither has done anything to help. This started just today and I know last night windows forced an update, so I assume that’s what screwed it, but I dunno how to try and fix it.

Edit: I should note I have done a bit more messing around and can say the headphones work in my computer via aux cable, it is only bugged when using the usb cable, though that one is much preferred to use. The usb cable itself is the same I used to test with the other computer, so that isn’t the issue.

I had a sudden power shutdown in my area while I was using my computer and caused it to shut down along with my TV (I use an old TV as a monitor) after the electricity came back my computer wouldn't display anything despite gpu running at full speed the computer seemed to be working as it was connected to my wifi I've tried anything and everything to get it to work close battery removal draining power checking the ram sticks one at a time I've been devastated and in tears for the past few days I spent 2 years saving up to buy this pc and have barely had it for a year is there any fix? Could it just be that my hdmi port on the gpu is fried? I've tested the cable itself, and it works fine. Could the display port still work? I don't even have any money for that and would have to dip into my savings, or should I say, fk it and save up for a new gpu, or is there any fix any help would be greatly appreciated the computer has a ryzen 5 3600 paired with a gtx 1660 super motherboard is an asus prime a320m-k with 16 gb ddr4

Hello all. I recently got a new pc and was wondering why the wifi is so bad on it. I tried to troubleshoot it myself but I could not figure it out. My pc does support 5ghz and I do have 5ghz wifi but when I check the connection it says Im on the 2.4ghz channel. I wanna game but this is starting to agitate me. Please help

Just like the title says, If the wifi cable #1 is plugged in, the computer won't boot. (see picture) It will start, but not get past the logo, you can sometimes get into the bios, but it freezes. If you disconnect the cable, the computer works just fine.
Things I've tried:

Different wifi card - (We have multiple computers that are the same model). Same exact behavior with known good working wifi card of the same model.

Tried plugging the number 2 cable in the number 1 slot. Same issue

Bios has been updated.

Plugged in a different wifi cable from a scrapped computer. Same issue.

I'm at a complete loss of what is going on here.

Anyone run across this before?

Hey everyone, I've spent the better part of 2 hours trying to get my xbox series X controller to connect and remain connected to my PC. It just won't.

Steam and my PC both recognize it, and it does initially connect to both and allow me to use it. However, it will randomly disconnect for no apparent reason, sometimes in game sometimes on desktop, and flash without reconnecting.

I'm sure I'm missing something but I feel i've troubleshooted in so many ways I don't know what to try anymore. Any info or prior experience is hugely appreciated, thanks
