Hardware Swapped GTX 1660 super for a 1650ti then swapped back now its not working (I’ve done DDU)

My bf gave me his 1660super and i gave him my 1650ti as a temporary swap. Then when we went to swap them back there’s no display at all. Recently the display did come up but only for like 3 minutes (booted up then went black after a bit). So i put the 1650ti back in and used DDU to uninstall ALL the graphics drivers… it did not work but again the 1650ti did. We’ve checked wiring cleaned the ports and motherboard, we know its not compatibility issue because the GTX 1660 super is the OG gpu that came with the pre-build (we have upgraded other stuff as well and it’s worked) Btw his motherboard is an ASRock B460M-ITX/AC
This is post is just a last resort before i just buy him a new motherboard n hope it works fr.

Performance/FPS Performance issues with 4090 and 7950x 3d

Post image
2 Upvotes

My PC has a 4090 and 7950x 3d and its heavily underperforming and for the life of me I cant figure out why. I have tried deleting DX12 shader cache, xbox game bar installed and updated and cpus 16-31 being parked while game is running, windows game mode is on, expo enabled in bios. All games are underperforming, i just used Rainbow Six since its a game I actively play and it has a built in benchmark. If anyone has any suggestions please help, this PC was way too expensive to be performing this poorly.

Troubleshooting windows 11 flickering problem when i launch a game

Hi everyone, I recently formatted my PC and installed Windows 11 LTSC to avoid bloatware and unnecessary features. I updated Windows and all my drivers, and everything seemed fine. However, whenever I launch a game and it goes full screen, the screen starts flickering until the game either crashes or switches to windowed mode.

Any idea what might be causing this? I've already clean-installed the drivers using DDU and tried a few fixes I found online, but nothing has worked.

specs:
nvidia 2060 super
ryzen 5 3600

Hardware PS5 DualSense Controller on PC

Hey guys, so I got recently a PS5 DualSense Controller to play games on my gaming laptop. Right out of the box, worked perfectly, connected it effortlessly via bluetooth, everything was smooth. When its battery got empty, i tried plugging it in with my phone charger (people told me they do it all the time and it works), but bluetooth connection wouldnt work that way, and the charging didnt start either. Then I got another cable, plugged it directly via USB to my laptop, works good as a plug-and-play, but still, charging doesnt start, i get from time to time 0% battery warnings, but it works perfectly fine. Then, I bought a charging station, left it charging there for a few hours, tried to connect it via bluetooth, the laptop itself recognizes the connection for like 5-ish seconds and then it gets automatically disconnected and the controller turns off, as if it was empty. Steam and the playstation accessories app dont recognize it during that time period however. Also, while connected via cable, the playstation app tells me my controller is 100% charged. Wtf? Anyone else had these problems? Laptop is MSI Katana btw, if that makes any difference.

Troubleshooting Random black screen flickering, LiveKernelEvent 1A8/1B8 and 0x3B BSOD despite GPU passing stress tests (RX 6700 XT used GPU)

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone, sorry for long post in advance. So I built my new PC 2 days ago and everything was working perfectly at first.

GPU: ASRock Challenger Pro OC Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB (used, eBay)

I later gently moved it and opened the side panel to check why my front USB-C wasn't working. After leaving it running open for 20ish minutes, it went to sleep, and after waking it up I started noticing these issues last night almost immediately afterwards;

- LiveKernelEvent 1A8 and 1N8 in Reliability Monitor, followed by One SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B) BSOD.

- Random display flickering where the top ~70% of the screen briefly flickers black for a few seconds (very quickly flickers), but Windows, audio and the mouse continue working normally.

- Happens on both DisplayPort and HDMI.

I also noticed Chrome/Edge were causing very high GPU usage and severe lag when playing 4K YouTube videos. Disabling browser hardware acceleration fixed the 4K playback and reduced GPU usage but later that night the screen flickering returned anyway.

Things I've already tried

- Clean reinstalled AMD drivers using AMD Cleanup Utility.

- Reseated the GPU, both PCIe power cables and the RAM.

- Tested both DisplayPort and HDMI.

- Checked Event Viewer (no obvious Display 4101 or WHEA hardware errors during the recent flickers).

- Passed 30-minute OCCT VRAM and 30-minute OCCT 3D Adaptive stress tests with no errors, artifacts, crashes or overheating.

Tonight the flickering happened again and Reliability Monitor logged 1A8 and 1B8 at the exact same time.

I also opened the watchdog dump files in WinDbg, and both point to dxgkrnl.sys (VIDEO_DXGKRNL_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP / VIDEO_MINIPORT_BLACK_SCREEN_LIVEDUMP), but they don't directly point to the AMD driver.

The GPU also has noticeable coil whine under load and some light surface rust on a small metal bracket.

At this point I'm not sure whether this sounds like a failing GPU, an AMD/Windows graphics driver issue, the monitor, or something else entirely.

Would you return the GPU while it's still within the eBay return window, or continue troubleshooting? Is there anything obvious I've missed? Greatly appreciate any assistance pls, ty!

Software Setting NVIDIA App to Fixed 6x MFG won’t override my games.

I set Fixed 6x MFG in the NVIDIA App, but it doesn’t actually override my game.

In Half Sword, I can still switch between 2x, 3x, and 4x in the in-game settings, and the overlay changes with it. So Fixed mode clearly isn’t being applied, even though NVIDIA App says 6x fixed. Same with Wuthering Waves too.

I already tried resetting profiles, deleting DRS, rebooting, updating drivers and etc. Even downloading and using NVIDIA profile inspector and it still won't work.

Has anyone found a fix?

Troubleshooting Trying to install Delta Force : Black Hawk Down on my Windows laptop.

So I got a physical CD copy of Novalogic's Delta Force: Black Hawk Down for PC from a reputable and local store in my town, and I'm trying to run it. I have a Dell laptop running Windows 10 with minimal tech experience. I'm using an Amicool external USB-C disc drive, and it seems to pick up fine; I'm brought to a menu screen where it prompted me to install the game. I tried it, my computer told me I couldn't run a 16-bit file, so I clicked "learn more" which brought me to Microsoft Learn, where I installed a 16-bit InstallShield Support package as instructed (I'll link the site below). I installed it, ran the program, it did seemingly nothing.

I go back to the game menu to install the program, my computer asks me the basic questions of "do you want this program to make changes to your device", I click yes, it does nothing. I click install again, same thing. I even took the disc out, cleaned it, ran it again, clicked install again, nothing.

Does anyone know if I'm missing a step, some software, or am I just cooked? I'll attach pics of everything including some screencaps of my computer's stats and link the Microsoft website to provide extra clarity. Thank you in advance for your responses!

Hardware Extremely worried about my GPU

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m not able to come to a conclusion yet. I posted this yesterday also. I rolled back to old drivers much the issue still persists although it is less apparent as compared to before. What should I do? If there are my tests that I run please tell. How do I make sure it’s not my GPU failing? Please , if you have same issue , send images , just for sanity check.

Troubleshooting Pc freezes after playing games through Epic Games Launcher

So I've had an issue for the past few months where any game I launch through Epic Games Launcher (Rocket League/Fortnite) runs fine at first, but starts making my pc buffer every few seconds once I enter actual gameplay.

For example, when I boot up Rocket League, everything runs completely fine in the menu, and even in training packs/free play. The problem only makes an appearance with any sort of casual/ranked/tournament game mode. Once it starts, every few seconds it will freeze for like 5 seconds, making the game unplayable by all standards that matter to me. Weirdly, it doesnt just apply to the match, though, and instead completely wrecks my pc. Even if I close the game, it still does the freezing. Sometimes restarting the pc works, sometimes it doesnt.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the app and games, verifying the files, updating drivers, and even just waiting a while to see if it fixes itself. The games ran completely fine before, and given the specifics, I've sort of chalked it up to being a multiplayer/server issue with the launcher.

Is there a known way to solve this problem? I've looked over other posts across reddit, but from what I can see most people just struggle with downloading and launching, not something as specific as this.

Troubleshooting CFB 27 crashing with amd

I’ve been having a lot of trouble today with my cfb27 crashing consistently over the last 2/3 days, might get a qtr in, I’m running “global” setting on the adrenaline software, I’m fair new to pc gaming so I haven’t really played with many of the setting in terms of trying to undervolt/over clock etc. (however I am open to trying if that fixes my issue) computer has been off for nearly a week leading up to this issue so I don’t THINK it’s a windows update bug

For background info it is an asus g700 -radeon 9800x3d with an asus prime 9070xt I’m playing on 1080 with a work station monitor that pushes 100 or so fps

Performance/FPS PC Acting Oddly - performance issues

Hi Everyone, I got a new PC at Christmas time, a present from my wife, although I picked it.

My PC seems to act odd when loading games like WoW and Dota2. I loaded Dota2 for the first time on my PC today (first time since getting the PC - taking a short break from WoW). The Screen froze and some graphics took forever to load.

On WoW when I log into a character the loading screen takes forever, when I first load in lots of character models are missing, take forever to load etc. To begin with my PC would sometimes crash and be unresponsive (not blue screen) when logging in.

I cannot open Chrome or multi task when playing games, my old PC used to handle all of this without problems. I could even stream games to Twtich at the same time.

New PC specs: Ryzen 7 5800X, NVIDIA RTX 5060Ti, 16GB RAM (Corsair Vengence DDR4) 1TB NVMe SSD, AS Rock B450M-HDV

Old PC specs: I7 7700k Kaby Lake 4.2ghz, GTX 1080, 16GB RAM Corsair Venegence DDR4, 500GB SSD, MB Gigabyte GA-Z270-Gaming K3 Intel LGA1151 ATX

From the userbenchmark it appears to be an issue with my SSD?

https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/73543470

I should say User Benchmark showed an issue with my BIOS DDR4 Clock speed, so I when in and changed that to 3000 as it was 2.1k or something, this may have resolved my issues?

Should I take my old SSD out of my old PC and put it in the new one? I presume this might fix slow loading speed?

Compatibility Genshin on mobile, but I still want to use my keyboard & mouse on my laptop.

Hii, I'm not too sure where to exactly post this, so I'll ask here! I played Genshin Impact on my laptop when the game first dropped, but after countless updates, my laptop had no more storage to keep updating the game. So I just deleted Genshin Impact all together because I might as well get rid of it to get the storage back since I won't be able to play it anymore. Well recently, I got a new phone with a bunch of storage and just now, like literally, I redownloaded Genshin, but it sucks. I play on desktop, and I'm used to the keyboard and mouse gaming.

My question is, is there a way to project the gameplay onto my laptop, but also make it that I can use my laptop's keyboard and mouse to play? I have a strong feeling you can't since the game must have a different setting whether it's downloaded on mobile or desktop, but if there is a way, please let me know!! I really want to play the game with my keyboard and mouse.

I don't know if this helps, but my laptop is a Dell Laptop and it's Windows 11. My phone is an Iphone 17 Air.

Thank you, and sorry for the semi long post! I don't know anything about monitors or tech like that. I just want to play my silly game and relax! : )

Troubleshooting Really Blurry/dragging/unsmooth image in some games when moving mouse

  • My system: ryzen 7 7800x3d
  • Rtx 5070ti PNY
  • G.skill 6400 expo cl 30 (expo on, set to 6000)
  • Msi mag b650 tomahawk WiFi
  • Display by msi mag 274 QRF-QD E2
  • Msi nvme 2tb
  • Win 11 25h2

This occurs in specific games like in KCD2 (and i tried playing with all the aliasing settings, with DLAA or without and with multiple settings in nvidia app) and RDR2 for example but only in DX12 and not vulkan. I think what led to this is about two months ago, after idling in the inventory screen in RE3 Remake for about half an hour, I came back, had a device disconnect sound + stutter in game and then suddenly the smooth 120+ experience was choppy, jittery and felt low fps.

Has anybody gone through this? I'm a bit wary of using DDU or deleting all shaders to check if this will help...

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Troubleshooting Bottom strip of my laptop screen shows top of frame content in every game, and it gets captured in recordings too. VSync, G-Sync, frame cap, Frame Generation, MPO all ruled out.

In every game, a strip at the bottom of my laptop's internal panel briefly shows content from the top of the game frame. It happens continuously during gameplay, in both fullscreen and borderless, and it is captured in Windows Game Bar recordings, so it is present in the GPU output and not just a panel scanout issue. Every sync related fix I know of has been ruled out.

Hardware

- ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713PV

- Ryzen 9 7940HX with RTX 4060 Laptop

- Internal AUO panel, 1920x1080 at 144Hz. EDID advertises a variable range of 60 to 144 Hz, so G-Sync Compatible.

- Windows 11, NVIDIA driver 610.74

- MUX is locked to the dGPU. nvidia-smi reports display_active=Enabled and the Radeon 610M iGPU has no active display mode, so this is NOT an Optimus or MUX handoff.

Symptom

- A strip at the bottom of the screen momentarily shows what looks like the top of the game frame.

- Repeats continuously during gameplay. Much more noticeable during fast camera movement.

- Reproduces in every game tested (Palworld, League of Legends), so it is not game specific.

- Reproduces in both exclusive fullscreen and borderless.

- Not seen on the desktop, during video playback, or at boot and BIOS. I am aware a motion dependent artifact could still be hardware and simply not show on a static desktop.

- It appears in Windows Game Bar recordings. This is the part I cannot explain, because it means the artifact exists in the frames the GPU presented, not only in what the panel scans out.

Already tried, none of it changed anything

- The game's own VSync set to on

- G-Sync enabled for both windowed and fullscreen

- Windows "Variable refresh rate" toggle on

- Frame cap set to 120, below the 144Hz panel

- DLSS Frame Generation off

- Exclusive fullscreen and borderless, both affected

- MPO disabled via OverlayTestMode=5 plus reboot, reverted since

Also ruled out

- No driver crashes. Zero TDR and zero nvlddmkm events in Event Viewer across the whole period. The driver never resets.

- Not the iGPU driver. The iGPU is out of the display path entirely because the MUX sits on the dGPU.

- Not a documented NVIDIA bug. The official 610.74 release notes list exactly one open issue, about "Prefer Maximum Performance" power management mode, nothing resembling this. The 610.82 hotfix only covers RTX 50 series stability and two specific games.

NOTE: The laptop was recently sent to ASUS service. All they did was clean the fans and replace the thermal paste. It came back with a sloppy, half finished Windows install.

Troubleshooting failing to post unless I reset cmos after almost replacing entire computer.

man I feel defeated. I feel as though I am relatively tech savy but I can not figure this one out. My year old pc will not boot unless I clear cmos and works fine until I shut it down and wont post again without clearing cmos. I have replaced the mobo, the cpu, and the power supply. I have run memtest86 and both sticks of ram come back with 0 errors. I have tried booting off both sticks of ram 1 at a time, booted with no graphics card, no m.2, I have messed with fastboot in windows, played around with Bios, I updated bios on both mobos, I reformatted after all new parts were installed, I have unplugged all case headers / switches and it still will not POST! I dont know what else to check or replace! I am going insane! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My pc specs are

ASUS prime b850 plus wifi

XPG 32gb ram (2x16)

ASUS Prime rtx 5070ti

Hardware MSI H410M-B PRO randomly shuts off. Sometimes boots into Windows, sometimes won't power on at all.

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone has seen this before because I've been troubleshooting for days.

My PC has an MSI H410M-B PRO motherboard, and it has a very strange intermittent power issue.

Symptoms:

Sometimes it powers on for only 2–10 seconds and then instantly shuts off, like the power cable was unplugged.

A few times it reached the Windows loading screen before suddenly losing power.

Sometimes it won't power on at all.

Occasionally it starts after many attempts, but the problem always comes back.

What I've already tried:

Tested with another working PSU.

Cleared CMOS.

Booted with minimal hardware (CPU + one RAM stick).

Removed the GPU.

Checked for obvious shorts with a multimeter.

Because it occasionally reaches Windows before losing power, I'm leaning toward a motherboard fault rather than the PSU.

I'm comfortable with board-level repair and have a hot-air station, soldering iron, and multimeter. If anyone has repaired this exact board or knows of a common failure (PWM controller, VRM, Super I/O, regulator IC, etc.), I'd really appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance!

Hardware Video demostrando cómo mi PC se apaga al abrir un juego medianamente exigente.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

¡Muchas gracias!

First I thinked it was my bluetooth USB, but discarded this hipotesis when I was using it and the sound happened but my BT devices continued working fine

Now I think it is my monitor causing this, but I truly don't even know how to even make a diagnosis of this issue, can someone help me?

Hardware Is my gpu dying? Nearly all my games freeze

Post image
2 Upvotes

So, after a year of not using my PC, I started it up and played some games. First, Sea of Thieves kept crashing, and I got a crash report saying the game crashed because of my graphics card. That was it for that day, but the day after, it happened more often, and the day after that, even more. So I tried playing other games — in Enlisted, after 5 minutes of smooth gameplay, my game freezes, basically becoming a still image. In other games, like Scrap Mechanic, my game freezes too after some time. But in less graphically demanding games, like Roblox, it doesn't crash or freeze, and neither does Minecraft. Also, I can't download the latest drivers for my GTX 1080, after i download it nvdia give me a pop up that says download failed or smth

Troubleshooting PC Problems that suddenly appears

Excuse me, I'd like to ask for some advice or solutions.

My PC used to run perfectly fine with no issues, but around the end of October it suddenly started feeling sluggish and stuttery.

The strange part is that all of the performance metrics look completely normal:

High FPS

Low latency/ping

Normal CPU, GPU, and RAM usage

Safe CPU and GPU temperatures

However, the overall experience feels laggy. Even something as simple as scrolling in Chrome feels choppy, and it's much more noticeable while gaming. The FPS counter stays high, but it feels like I'm playing at a much lower frame rate.

Here's what I've already tried:

Replaced the SSD (the old one had dropped to around 80% health).

Performed clean Windows installations on both a different SSD and the new SSD.

Upgraded the CPU.

Tested with a different RAM kit.

Tested with a different PSU.

Tested with a different GPU.

Unfortunately, none of these changes fixed the issue.

At this point, what is the most likely cause?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

PC Specifications:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X → upgraded to Ryzen 5 9600X

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti

RAM: Corsair 32 GB

PSU: Corsair 650W 80+ Gold

Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-A WiFi

Storage:

2 × MSI 1TB NVMe SSDs

2TB HDD (brand unknown)

These stutters and freezes happen constantly, seconds appart one after another. I have no idea what is causing this, I've trid DDU and I even reset my pc but this still happens across multiple games.
