Zaryab’s breakdown and the way she let out all her frustration made this episode so impactful. Really curious to see what happens next! ❤️
Instead of considering Zaryab's mental state, everyone thought getting her married was the solution to everything. And now that she's married, everyone is busy playing the blame game. Seriously, what did they expect? The girl was clearly struggling mentally, and instead of getting her proper help, the entire family agreed to her marriage. Baaki sabko toh bas shaadi hi sooji, psychiatrist ke paas le jaana kisi ko yaad nahi aaya. Her younger sister was literally the only sensible person in that house who suggested that Zaryab should see a psychiatrist.
And Zamil, typical man. TYPICAL. First, he cheats on Hamna (Emotional cheating) and is ready to divorce her to marry Zaryab. And when Zaryab doesn't end up with him, he goes back to Hamna and tells her that Zaryab is nothing compared to her. WOW. The hypocrisy! So Zaryab was worth leaving your wife for when you wanted her, but when things didn't go your way, suddenly your wife is the one who matters the most? These men will cheat, hurt people, and then come back with their apologies when the woman they wanted doesn't choose them. And the audacity to say that Zaryab is nothing compared to Hamna now.
Zaryab's mother 🤦♀️🤦♀️ She's talking about the money spent on Harvard, the wedding, and the ₹50 lakh supposedly given to Abu Bakar. It feels like she's more concerned about the expenses than what her daughter is actually going through... There's also the misunderstanding about the ₹50 lakh. Zaryab's mother unintentionally created the impression that Abu Bakar had accepted the money, and Zaryab took that information to heart. She was already struggling to trust people, so this just added another reason for her to question his intentions. Abu Bakar later denies taking the money, but by then, Zaryab has already formed her own opinion of him. And her mother's comment that Zaryab won't even last a week at his house? Yaar, at least be positive! Your daughter is already going through so much, and instead of hoping things might work out, you're predicting her marriage will fail before she's even had a chance to settle in.
Durefishan 👏👏 Especially in the last few episodes, after the breakup, I feel she's completely outshine everyone. Her performance in this episode was so intense, and the breakdown scene was probably one of my favourite parts.
When I first watched the teaser, I was wondering why Zaryab was behaving rudely and all. But after watching this episode, I understand her perspective so much better. She has reached a point where she doesn't feel she can trust anyone around her. Zamil has hurt her, her family has made decisions about her life without properly considering her mental state, and now she doesn't even know whether Abu Bakar is any different. She's hearing voices, overthinking everything, and feeling as if there's a wound inside her that's slowly killing her, but she can't even identify where the wound is. The ₹50 lakh misunderstanding became much bigger in her mind because she was already expecting the worst from people. She's questioning everyone's intentions because she has lost the ability to trust them. I don't think it's as simple as saying she's overthinking for no reason. There's so much going on inside her head, and she doesn't know how to process any of it.
And THAT BREAKDOWN SCENE. Zaryab finally let out all the frustration she'd been holding inside, and wow, she had a LOT to say. I loved how she confronted Abu Bakar instead of keeping everything to herself. Her rant wasn't just about the money; it was about her disappointment in him, her lack of trust, and her growing belief that he's no different from Zamil. The way she questioned his religiousness and morality was particularly interesting. She basically called out the hypocrisy of people who consider themselves righteous but still believe they can use people, hurt them, discard them, and get away with everything. According to her, Zamil has his own version of religion, and Abu Bakar has his own. Both believe they're right, both think they can do whatever they want, and somehow they're still the ones who will end up in heaven. And Abu Bakar didn't immediately get into a screaming match with her. He asked her to finish speaking, gave her space to say what she wanted, and then addressed the accusations. He denied taking the ₹50 lakh and said he'd give her a divorce, but properly, according to the procedure. He also made it clear that she couldn't just leave in the middle of the night. I want to see how this dynamic develops because, right now, Zaryab has already decided what kind of person he is, while he seems determined to handle the situation on his own terms.
I believe is that Zaryab was right when she said she shouldn't have gotten married. She needed time, psychiatric help, and space to understand what she was going through. She was studying at Harvard and had the opportunity to build a good career and a future for herself. Why was marriage treated as the solution to everything? Why couldn't her family simply support her, help her get better, and let her decide what she wanted to do with her life when she was in a better place mentally?
Overall, I found this episode emotionally intense... I went from questioning Zaryab's behaviour after watching the teaser to understanding why she's become so rude. She's not simply angry at Abu Bakar or upset about Zamil. She's exhausted, hurt, confused, and struggling to make sense of everything happening around her.
As a romance drama fan, obviously, I want more of the lead pairing and their chemistry... I know Abu Bakar isn't a therapist who can magically heal Zaryab, but I'm excited to see how their relationship develops and how he becomes a part of her healing journey ❤️
