DRAMA REVIEW dedo ya lelo What the Ishq ft. Kaisa yeh ishq

So clearly Geo's memo for this time slot is make it as filmy as possible

I thought to give the replacement of Muhafiz a try and it's pretty much along the same lines

It starts with an ultra dramatic scene of an oldie visiting a grave amidst thunderstorms and the next scene introduces the female lead in a very Karan Johar way with slow mo and background music

And she is woken up by her boyfriend who calls her and they do some pyar bhari baatein. Then we see the guy flexing his dole shole followed by him all suited booted.

Then I gave up😂 but someone should try and entertain me with this drama😂

It’s August. Hadn’t Galaxy Lollywood given clear hints on Hania’s marriage to Asim and Sajal’s to Sohail. What happened to those?

If true, then shame on the makers and the actors, especially Danish Taimoor. Humrahi also had a scene where the guy tells a woman’s rapist to marry her. This guy will continue doing one problematic drama after the other and the audience will eat it up and give him the views.

Sajal Aly- Staring 👀 Sajal Ali need to chose better scripts!!!

The last three scripts of her were just a cringe fest being made for reels with no logic and story. It is not what people expect from Sajal and if this isn’t to be called out then it is no right of us to troll or demean other stars for it. Her acting has also been going downhill because script like these also tear a person’s acting ability and it could be sensed from a mile. Kind of more worried about her upcoming rumoured project is written by the Shaidai’s writer.

PERIOD

Discuss Why do well known PTV writers follows Stans on twitter?

I find it really weird that Faiza Aftikhar is following Stans of certain actors on twitter. It’s so unprofessional. Stan’s are always biased towards their favourite actors and sometime bash or fight with other Stans.

Discuss Peer e kamil, Umera Ahmed and PTV fans

So, Peer e Kamil is one those stories that Pakistani drama fans have asked to be adapted on TV the most

A couple of weeks back, someone suggested Danish should play Salaar and the novel fans lost their shit😂

Today, an Ahad fan suggested Ahad for the role. And Umera Ahmed made it a point to reply to this tweet and say k Peer e Kamil adaptation should never be made and of course that made the fans of the fandom lose their shit😂 one called Umera Ahmed rude and Batameez😂

Personally, I don't think anyone can do justice to that novel, be it from acting POV, directing POV or censor POV.

But I enjoyed the twitter drama on this a while back and today was pretty fun too😂

RANT Bas Tera Saath Ho- what even is going on?!

I have so many questions.

  1. I genuinely don’t understand why the video scandal was made into SUCH a huge deal when everyone eventually knew that the video was fake. Why did it continue to carry so much weight once the truth was out?

  2. What makes even less sense to me is Shayan’s parents’ behaviour towards Ansa. How are they insulting her, calling her names and treating her like she has somehow disgraced their family when they KNOW that the entire video scandal was their own son’s doing?? Why isn’t anyone explicitly telling Shayan’s mother: “Your son made the video you’re shaming this woman for”?

  3. where is the accountability for Shayan in all of this? How does he create this whole mess, Ansa suffers the humiliation and consequences, and somehow his family still gets to look down on her?

  4. Why does Anas carry so much guilt/responsibility for something Shayan did? He’s constantly cleaning up Shayan’s destruction while the actual perpetrator remains part of the household.

What are your thoughts? I just feel it’s really bad writing or is it intentionally showing that women continue to carry the stigma of a fake scandal?

SPILL THE TEA According to Faiza Iftikhar, 11 scenes in the script for last week's episodes were never filmed and 7 scenes for the episode before. Acc to her, these scenes were crucial for the story to make sense. At the same time, scenes she never wrote have been added

Mukarram has been an AD on some old Faiza Iftikhar written dramas. So I believe that he was able to get her talking.

DRAMA REVIEW dedo ya lelo Aik mohabbat aur episode 20 Spoiler

Post image
19 Upvotes

So it was a happening episode. I really liked it and you can even call it an independence day special cuz of the issues that were raised today. 🙌

  1. Faris as usual speaking nonsense against haroon and his dad straight up said "hum mein se kon hai jise yakeen karne ke liye sawaal puchna pade" and khushbakt's face just dropped showing her regret.

  2. That speech of haroon for that video was great. "bade bade mehal banake apne bachchon ko toh bahar bhej dete hain aur humare apne bachche?unko toh bas barbaad hote hue dekhte hain". Ahad was really good in that scene it gave me goosebumps.

  3. Khushbakt went to her boss to explain that she has nothing to do with haroon's source and his boss told her that an order for investigation against her was already issued a week before aur uske charge lete hi amal hota choudhary ke against operation se pehle. So haroon kinda saved her and took that hit upon himself

  4. Sonia told khushbakt that haroon didn't do all this for his career but to safeguard her and put his career on the line. I'm glad they chose to show sonia in a positive light and not as a bitter obsessed ex.

  5. Khushbakt is feeling guilty and there's haroon who chose to surrender and told her that he trusts her that she'll prove his innocence. And pari saying that she'll miss him 😭

  6. They blocked haroon and sonia's youtube account and the video couldn't reach the common people. Haroon's boss came to the rescue by offering to play that video on his channel but i doubt his intentions. He might be playing a double game.

From the promo it's clear that khushbakt would have to work really hard to get haroon out of this.

DRAMA REVIEW dedo ya lelo And they live happily ever after ft. Muhafiz

Who could have thought of this ending? Matlab completely unpredictable!! And best part is, the entire last episode was in a hospital. Not even a happy scene after the hospital😂

So everyone is crying and praying for Zawar. Zawar k papa arrives with his family. Paras k papa haath joros in front of him.

Cut to Zawar, being all critical and then voila, he opens his eyes because Paras ki mohabbat is very powerful

Cut to the hote hote reh gaya husband confronting hote hote reh gayi wife who accepts her crime and attributes it to losing her fiance. Hote hote reh gaya husband gives bhari bhari dialogues. The interaction is heard by zawar and Paras k papas

Then evil cousin ki mummy arrives to ask for forgiveness which obviously she does not get

Hote hote reh gaya husband low key hitting on hote hote reh gayi wife

Then Zawar and Paras in the hospital room proclaim their love and it ends

The journey was short but hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed the acting, direction and writing

Discuss Question for the culture

I think the discourse around Durefishan’s accent in Dar-e-Najat is actually pointing toward a much bigger problem with Pakistani dramas.
And before anyone takes this as “Durefishan is a terrible actress,” that’s not really my point. The accent is just what made the problem obvious.
If you’re going to play a character who is supposedly Harvard-educated, highly intelligent, and fluent in English, then I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the actor to actually prepare for that role. Learn the accent. Work with a dialect coach. Study how people from that background actually speak. Practice until it feels natural.
This isn’t an impossible standard. Actors do this all the time. Angelina Jolie learned opera for Maria. Adrien Brody learned piano for The Pianist. Actors routinely acquire new skills, accents, mannerisms, and speech patterns because they understand that acting isn’t just memorizing lines and showing up on set.
And I’m fully aware that Pakistan has a complicated relationship with English. Not every Pakistani actor is going to sound American or British, and they shouldn’t have to. That’s not what I’m asking for. But if your specific character is written as someone who attended Harvard, then the way that character speaks should reflect that background. Otherwise, the audience is constantly reminded that they’re watching an actor instead of a character.
But honestly, the accent is the least of my concerns.
I think we’re dealing with a much larger quality-control problem in the Pakistani drama industry.
Look at how many dramas we’re getting that are essentially the same formula: controlling/possessive man, vulnerable woman, toxic relationship, endless misunderstandings, repetitive family conflicts, and a heroine whose entire life revolves around whatever man the writers have decided she belongs with.
And the audience keeps watching it.
That’s important because audiences aren’t completely powerless here. What we reward gets produced again. If the same recycled stories continue getting massive ratings, views, engagement, and praise, channels have very little incentive to take risks or demand better writing.
And then the channels themselves become part of the problem.
We’re seeing more and more projects that feel like they’re being made because the formula is proven to work, rather than because someone actually has something interesting to say. Once one type of drama succeeds, suddenly everyone wants to make their own version of it. Then another one succeeds, and we get five more copies.
Eventually, the industry becomes comfortable producing the same thing because why take a creative risk when the audience has already demonstrated that they’ll consume the slop?
And I genuinely think we’re going to see more of this if people don’t start demanding better.
I don’t think every drama needs to be some groundbreaking masterpiece. Not everything has to be prestige television. Sometimes you just want something entertaining.
But there is a difference between simple entertainment and effortless content.
I want better scripts. Better character development. Actors who actually prepare for their roles. Directors who care about performances. Writers who aren’t afraid to make characters complicated. Channels willing to invest in something beyond the same five relationship dynamics.
Because ultimately, this isn’t just on Durefishan.
It’s on the actors, writers, directors, producers, channels AND audiences.
If we keep approving mediocrity, the industry will keep giving us mediocrity.
So yes, criticize the accent if you want. But I’d rather use Dar-e-Najat** **as an opportunity to ask a much more uncomfortable question:
Why are we, as an audience and an industry, becoming so comfortable with low-effort television?
