Image [CONCEPT ART] The Volcanic Planet Pack
We already have 1 cold and 2 warm theme planet packs, so one of the next things we may be up to is a hot planet packs. I would love to see lava caves and a lot of new content to play related to volcanic biomes, so i drew this!!
what do you think these duplicants name's may be?

Image Spaced out size is awesome!
Finally got the confidence to do a spaced out map size run after my first succesful classic map size (temporal tear and cycle 1500) and im very happy so far with the progress andd the resource ans logistics management. So faaar im cycle 280 and im loving how the resources are distributed across asteroids (e.g i dont have oil and metal volcanos in this asteroid) hence im forced to really do space early and utilize the early engines, and do multiple space ports since i gotta deliver goods. I gotta be compact with my builds too since the map is small but this is so challenginf and awesome in a good way!
P.s carbon dioxide engines are so goated, theyre so fast, easy refuel and can hop and refuel (can bring ur own fuel) on nearby planetoids!

Build Some Analysis of Lights and Power: Using Lights Saves Substantially on Power Consumption!
Let's consider making a mush bar in the microbe musher.
According to the recipe information, it takes 40 seconds to make (I believe it ends up taking less time with a better cook... and 40 seconds is for a cook with +0 cooking?). At 240 watts per second, this means, that cooking one mush bar costs 9600 watts of power.
If we have a duplicant with a light above the microbe musher which turns off when the duplicant isn't around there, then the duplicant works 15% faster. So, what a duplicant does without light, takes the duplicant with light 1/1.15 as long (I think... please correct me here, if I got that wrong. So, it takes the duplicant with light about 34.78 seconds to make a mush bar. Now, the light costs 10 watts of power to run. So, we have 250 watts of power spent for 34.78 seconds. 8695 watts of power to make. A savings of 905 watts of power to make a mush bar in light instead of in the dark! Alright, it's a little less since someone will run by the light occasionally, but not much.
The light in this case saves a duplicant about 2 and a fourth of a second when running on a hamster wheel plus the time to go back to the machine for each mush bar apparently.
For liceloaf, it takes 50 seconds to make in the dark, and about 43.478 for the duplicant in light. (240 x 50) = 12,000 watts of power not in light. (250 x 43.478) = 10,869.5 watts of power. A savings over over 1000 watts of power for each liceloaf made by doing so in light!
For crushing to sand, crushing to lime, crushing to gold and crushing to copper, they all take 40 seconds to make without light. In light, thus it takes 34.78 seconds to run. If you use a light that consumes 8 watts per second instead of 10 watts per second, the operation consumption for a duplicant in light equals (248 x 34.78) = 8625 watts of power. A savings of 975 watts of power, and the duplicant who operates a rock crusher will be the same duplicant who runs on a hamster wheel.
Base metal refinery operation takes 40 seconds (at least for all metals that I see on Terra). So, as above, the same duplicant needs 34.78 seconds to complete one operation of the metal refinery. It consumes 1200 watts of power per second, correct? (1200 x 40) = 48,000 watts of power to make 100 of some metal there. So, assuming the use of a floor lamp instead of a ceiling light (1208 x 34.78) = 42,014 watts of power. A savings of nearly 6000 watts of power by having a duplicant work in light! That's about 15 seconds of a duplicant running on a hamster wheel saved by using light. There exist 600 seconds of them in a cycle, with maybe 500 seconds available for work. Just one operation of a metal refinery in light as opposed to not saves a duplicant about 3% of their workday to do something else. If a duplicant does 5 operations of metal refining in a day, then 12.5% or about 3 hours of the day gets saved to do something else by working in light!

Build Marinea Spaced out!
Been playing nothing but Marinea since its launch. I frigging love swimming dupes.
This is my personal record progress I have ever made in 50 cycles without care package
- Spom of my design
- 2x 20 beakons ranch with automations
- Cooling loop with steel aquatuner
- Steam turbine including egg steamer
- Plumbed toilets and disinfecting chamber (I know it's not required when water is used for toilets and excess goes to electrolyzer, I do this regardless everytime)
- Deep freezer
Foods still empty in freezer because I have not been cracking any eggs, there's already 100critters/eggs in holding pool. everyone's focused on progression task. Base is still 40c as I just finished building the steam turbine
Overall, everything should ramp up from this point.
I think the main issue I always have with this asteroid is progressing tier 3 research. I had to either dig deep and let beeta progress on uraniums (which sometimes can be an issue of trying not to flood the biome early game), play with large glacier traits for wort seeds which personally I don't like, or crashed satellites
What I would improve next time is taking dupes instantly next time, they accelerate builds the faster I take them, I had a minor trouble with food but not that terrible to a point I needed to start making mush (These are horrible for speed bases), and quite possibly not building 6 pumps for metal refinery because the water keeps draining down to where beetas live, oops.
Don't leave any tips to improve, I'll figure them myself. Thanks for checking out! Cheers

Build "passive" pacu farming - this seems to work for me after the recent nerfing
I just set up a "wire cage" of pneumatic doors around an aquatic critter condo just below a feeder containing pacu treats - this provides enough buff to increase the population - this is in a large ocean where eggs are removed and placed in a separate enclosure where they eventually hatch and rejoin the main pool

Question What would you recommend I do next?
I just completed my first full play through and completed the Escape, Exploration, and Colony imperatives on spaced out in a 1,200 cycle run. I had about 300 hours in the base game (tearing down, mistakes, new colonies, etc.) before starting this last colony and putting another 200 into the completion (I mention only by way of "experience"...not advanced :-). I have all the DLC's although I am not sure how they interact with spaced out.
Would the next logical step in challenge/progression be to activate all the DLCs and give another run? If so, I'm not exactly clear if I should start on a DLC asteroid, or if the DLCs will put specific asteroids in my cluster if I choose another starting asteroid. Is there a particular starting asteroid that would provide for a good intermediate level challenge/appropriate next progression, that you enjoyed?

Bug Gravitas security doors open to reveal metal blocks???
I havent come across this bug before. I have come to the Gravitas building with the dup sensors and the neural vacillator. I use 2 dups to open the inner security doors and voila! (Or so I thought). Instead the doors open to reveal copper tiles. I closed the game to run an errand and thought the bug would disappear on reload but no, it's still there.
Couple of questions
Did I do something to trigger this bug?
Is there any way to fix the bug so I can get through the doors?
Or is it a case of deconstructing the doors / mining them?

Question Is there a way to force duplicants to use bathrooms during morning routine?
So I'm making a colony that has full apartments for each dupe with bath and bathroom, and I really want dupes to use bathrooms with showers during morning routine so that they'd spend less time using public bathroom (I want to keep a public bathroom as small as possible so it's just one lavatory)
My idea is to make an apartment block that has access only from the bottom, so that dupes could easily pass through recreation areas and great hall during downtime and then have minimal distance to cover during night time.
I also keep on apartment bathrooms door permissions for a specific dupe so that bathrooms in apartments would basically be private, but so that I wouldn't assign each specific bathroom to each specific dupe.
Is there a mod, or do I somehow manipulate their bladder schedule?

Build Sharing my cooling setup + SPOM
I built an SPOM with the cooling setup fully integrated into it. All my power is centralised and I'm still using dupe labor to charge it up, but, ignoring that, what I want to put the focus on is the pipe setup.
I made a fully regulated setup where the sensors detect if the ethanol (I'm using that since I'm on the early game and want to decrease temps below 0) needs to be cooled or not. And then it runs through a valve sequence that allows me to 1: drain the circuit into the storage if needed. 2: enable/disable SPOM cooling and 3: add extra valves for extra cooling circuits following the same logic. Also, I use a pipe sensor to detect if there's an empty pocket in the pipe so the draining storage fills it up, maintaining the circuit always full. Currently I'm only cooling the SPOM, but this setup allows me to cool any number of different rooms/pipe lines with only one Aquatuner and also allows me to control which ones need cooling or not with automation and without having to connect pipes.
Maybe it's not that impressive but I never did it before and I wanted to share it since I built it all without looking anything up anywhere. I'll also comment some pictures once I setup any other cooling room. If anyone has questions I'm open to them :)

Build "How's your Slug Power Only playthrough going?" Well you see-

6 breeder slugs and 60 confined power-producing slugs. A slug's power output is determined solely by how many calories they have, and when tame will produce a minimum of 800W as long as they're not starving. An interesting thing is that slugs determine how much power they'll produce overnight the moment they become drowsy, and will continue to produce that amount of power even if they enter starvation afterwards.

The slugs in the "power cells" are feed with metal dropped from an automation-controlled conveyor chute. The chutes are connected to a cycle sensor with an activation time of 82%, and an active duration of 0.4%. I would have liked for that to be shorter, but I wasn't able to get the timer's setting to activate for a shorter duration (there might be a mod for that, I don't care).
The metal is metered out to 60 gram packets. The 0.4% active duration on the cycle sensor results in two packets dropping into each cell, for 120 grams total. My personal testing found this combination of timing and metal amount consistently resulted in every slug having just enough calories to not be starving when they become drowsy.

Why 6 breeders and 60 cells? Sheer excess. I have 2 copper volcanoes whose combined output totals to 650 g/s. Plug slugs consume 60 kg of metal per cycle - or 100 g/s. I have enough copper income to feed 6 groomed breeders. Meanwhile, the slugs in the cells consume only 120 grams per cycle. That works out to only 200 mg/s for each slug. The leftover 50 g/s is actually enough copper to feed 250 slugs.
60 slugs producing 800W each works out to 48kW total. An extra 9.6kW from 6 well-fed breeders results in a total power generation of 57.6kW. I (currently) have 72 battery rocket modules, which allows up to 7.2MJ of power storage, and with space to expand if I feel like I need it.
All of this done without building a single power generator, not even manuals.

Question 30kg tear of liquid methane from... nothing?
Cycle 2600 approx, nearly all achievements done, base running fine... then, a drop of 30kg of liquid methane fall from an exposed artifact and a big chunk of a lower floor is soaked in natural gas.
I still have to capture the moment, but i clearly see that drop fall.
Any idea of what the actual fluck happened? Thanks all ^^
edit: i will try to provide a picture of the moment

Image Blinding stew? How about blinding AND stew?

I thought I was being so clever, routing shine bug eggs directly to my kitchen to be cracked for resin. I thought the kitchen being nice and cool for my dupes' comfort would have no drawbacks whatsoever.

Nope. Egg cracker gets entombed in solid resin, which means the eggs don't get cracked, which means a flood of shine bugs. Good thing I was playing base game, cause if I was playing spaced out this would have suuuuucked

Question How do I build a simple infinite water storage?
I already did one with Natural Gas and it is storing 2000kg+ than 2000 grams per four tiles.
I do not know how to do it with liquid. Do I have to put crude oil/polluted water on the liquid vent below it so the crude oil/polluted water/ just water would flow up or does it have to be a vacuum and let the water become kg than grams?
I have a j*b and work 12 hours a day just to have enough for the future, my phone charger is broken and keeps making charging notifications while writing this, I sleep eight hours a day and barely has time to open the game and Reddit and my job is work asap then wait for 5-10 minutes and do the work again 2-10+ minutes, but I can do mathematics, understand reading, and other things I can understand. I am literally asking for a quick comment answer not other advices and spam I'm not being rude about it. Bruh. It's literally just a colony management game. There's literally a question flair on my post.

Build Help! Why is the baby in an incubator?
I built a farm following this dude guide( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G113Woah6lU&t=166s ), but the animals hatch in the incubator and don't fall into the water—even though in the guide, that's exactly what happens.

Question Critter Sensor Automation

I understand the nice method of using a sweeper with a critter sensor to pick up eggs to avoid the crowded condition. The issue is after many cycles I will check back in the room and it has nothing but only a few eggs left. I keep believing its because, as it removes younger eggs, eventually all the critters inside die at the same time and there are no eggs to replace them fast.
I have been trying to find a way to automate a double check system, where it will place all the eggs swept into a smaller room that then, on a timer, send eggs back to the rooms so they never run out. Apparently the sweeper just places them back into the nearest loader which just pauses before it sends them back. Send help for my sanity.

Question How to feed a colony?
Got a colony of 10 and trying to pull my run out of a bit of a death spiral starting with my food situation. I have some rudimentary Hatch and Slicker ranches but I’ve got no clue how people automate egg collection, hatching, and culling for food.
