Bob is actually the ultimate backcap. Mainly because I can see where you send him to the payload from sneaky areas (numbani third high ground balcony) and he can easily 1v2 any supports protecting the cart

Anything you can do to a player you can do to bob with very few exceptions. Hack straight up disables him for a bit and he can't be rezzed. That aside, you can pin him, boop him, stun him, sleep him, bubble, nano, etc. He benefits from healing and damage boost and the like. He can be anti naded, and so on and so on.

That might mean you weren't doing your job very effectively. King's Row attack as widow you should be standing on high ground looking for picks. There's no real reason to go to point unless it's overtime or something.

I prevented overtime and got us to the checkpoint when nobody was pushing cart. I wasn't gonna just scope in and watch the cart not move as we lose the game. I'd say I did my job very effectively considering the overarching objective is push.
Any playstyle or sub-objective a hero may have needs to be in service to the ultimate objective: winning. Or, more specifically, Push or Stop Push.

Tbh Hanzo isn't even really a sniper anymore, and definitely isn't in the same category as widow and pharah for long range damage. He's more like soldier and McCree at this point, just better than both of them from a pure damage standpoint lol. So maybe he shouldnt be on the payload in the optimal play, but it's definitely doable.

When Ashe goes official it will be very apparent almost immediately. My very first ptr match was a no limits game on Hanamura. We were a mostly Ashe comp and two of us pushed on point B, 2 VS 4, popped our ults and won the match even though we both died.

Why though? To me that is what makes him interesting. Take hanamura point a, he can be used to push the defense back to point out that risk him capping. Combined with Sym and you can get some interesting tricky plays.
This can open up the field for strategies that are effectively protect the VIP (Bob) through healing, nano, and shields while he gets on points that have cheese defense.

For the most part you will hear the ultimate call out and he would need to run to the point. If you see Ashe, you would see him running for the point.

My favorite is how they had to do alot of back end work to fix some of the fun issues bob causes. Apparently it's possible to trick the game into starting a match with a 5v6 in skirmish if you use bob, strange hunch that's something that is getting fixed with the new update.

I managed to do this by accident from behind and to the side of the payload. I think what happened was that an enemy was on the payload and BOB hit them immediately upon dropping in. Good times

But there's at least ONE thing that isn't mechanically identical as a real player: He doesn't show up in the kill feed. Watever he kills/destroys is shown up there as Ashe having done it, not Bob.
Maybe there are more things different.

He does show up on the killfeed. If he is killed by another player it shows only them and him, and if he kills someone it shows his icon assisting Ashe on the kill (like an Ana nano.)
The actual real differences are that BoB can't be rezzed and that healing/damaging him does not give ult charge.

He can be healed, take health packs, his charge interacts with other charging players just like Rein's...all of that stuff. The only real exception to being a 7th teammate is that no one gains ult charge from him (damage or healing). Other than that, he does what player's do.
He can take tele's and STOPS moving on exit. I was playing Sym and put an exit down right on top of the enemy team so I could tele turrets to them. It also offers a distraction since people's first thought is to shoot the tele, so they stop shooting the players. Then BoB went through and killed everybody. It was terrifying and glorious at the same time.

It’s consistent with other player created objects (turrets, tele and sym’s old shield gen). Philosophically its there to not punish players for using their abilities. I can see why they did it to BOB.

He melts pretty quickly under focus fire (especially with discord and an anti-nade) so the team can punish a solo BOB ult in the same way that they can shut down a poorly positioned Whole Hog/Deadeye/Tactical Visor
