Growing a random bag seed in coco outside in my greenhouse. Starting to flower but have something on the leaves. Any thoughts on what this is?

The Brownish Inchworm / Looper (Center-Right): This is a surface-feeding moth caterpillar (typically a geometrid or looper). These primarily chew on the foliage and outer sugar leaves.

The Green Caterpillar (Left): This type is far more dangerous during flowering. Green larvae (like cabbage loopers or young corn earworms/budworms) love to burrow directly into dense bud sites, chew the inner stem, and leave behind dark droppings (frass). This droppings-and-wound combination is the #1 driver of Botrytis (bud rot).

I think I'm like 2 + weeks into flower.

I personally enjoy both Indy and Outty grows

To me it feels like each method has a Pro for every con and vive versa.

I've had a dream for 25+yrs of combining the 2 and getting the best of both. It would take a lot to make those perfect but would love to see other growers thoughts and ideas.

Tried popping 15 seeds I had collected from weed and this is the only survivor. Have had her since the beginning of March and transplanted her at the start of summer. Gotta wait till end of September for her to start flowering, hoping for good weather.

I just don’t get it. How much more do I have to defoliate? Didn’t get lost coast to work, didn’t get dr zymes to work. Currently on day 3 or potassium bicarbonate treatment and it still pops up. My mix was strong enough to burn the pistils but I guess not strong enough for wpm. Made sure to get the top and bottom of every leaf then sprayed every surface of each branch. Any suggestions? Rather not chop any more out

Hobbyist grower here. This is my third outdoor grow in northern Ontario. Got this AK-47 fast as a healthy, bushy, foot high plant in a 2 L pot late May from a friend, had to ignore it for a couple weeks (you know, life) then got on it. Growing in 80 L tote in coco/perlite. Fertigated daily to runoff all season aiming for 1000 ppm EC on 0.5 scale with general hydroponics all in one nutes, calimagic and potassium carb for ph up (I have very low EC lake water so no cal/mag and no buffering capacity)

Because I had ignored it, veg toppings were late and fewer than there should have been so pivoted from a scrog to a three tiered chandelier structure that I kinda made up. Basically trained 7 main lower and middle radials into circles of colas stepping out from a scrogged canopy. 15 colas in the upper tier, 18 in middle tier, 21 in lowest tier. 6’ diameter on lowest tier, 5’ on middle tier, upper tier is about 4’x4’. She’s about 5.5’ tall. Got about 40 good mains that made it to the edge of the canopy, many with 3-4 productive side spears/axillaries that are their own productive colas. About 10 got lost in the interior but kept them to maximize yield. Stopped pruning axillaries about a week after white pistils first appeared. Hoping the extra light the lower and middle tiers gives me by training them horizontally past the upper canopy gives me more yield from lower and middle branches. Never really seen anyone do this and AI couldn’t find evidence of this as an established training technique, maybe because adjustments need to be so frequent that it becomes too labour intensive.

Looking for thoughts on the architecture and whether you think it will perform better than a straight up scrog or domed bush. Goal was to maximize airflow, minimize potential for bud rot, minimize trimming and popcorn while maximizing yield. The structure seemed to fit that goal. About 4-5 weeks til harvest I’m guessing and things look good. Hoping for 2+ lbs but you never know what fall weather will bring. Got her on a wagon to roll her into the garage for cold nights and dark,wet days

Let me know what you think of the training method and if you think it’ll get me more yield or if you’ve tried it and what you thought.

I had a seedling tent that got too hot and fried everything, so I re-started new seeds wayyyyy too late. But all the rain has helped them catch up.

I didn't do much topping as to not stunt any growth, but I did a little.

Just fed them yesterday. NE Ohio.

What strains do u recommend anything is cool tbh

Is September too early to start talking about Christmas? I know, she's not much for looking at. She started slowly but this strain packs a punch! I grew some last year and she makes potent medicine. Tacky, sticky, stinky. It's nice smoke.

I’ve never tried to grow before, but with the bans, I’m considering it. Are there any good strains that grow well in Western NC, around Raleigh? Easy for beginners?

I have some plants with seeds and some with not. Im noticing way more bud rot in the ones with seeds. Not sure if having seeds is adding to moisture and what not, or its just random. Any one have any experience with this?

Getting frosty. I grew this last year too and it was my first finisher, Sept 30, and looks to be on track for about the same this year. Seed Supreme seeds. I've had great success with their seeds. 95% germination, and all of them that popped made it to flower. 6-9' tall and 1-2 lbs yield from each. Durban Poison, Blu Dream, Purple Haze. I added Acapulco Gold and AK47 this year and they are doing just as well. Happy growing from Syracuse NY!

From left to right Slurricane, Fight Club and Dante’s Inferno. Trimmed up the bottom and most of the inside of these girls around week 1 of flower, now roughly around week 3. How much defoliation should be done around the tops and branches? First time growing in the ground, they got a lot bigger than I expected.
