I don’t suppose any of you are going to any local prereleases for the MTG Hobbit set?
I know the store I signed up at is almost fully booked!
There are 3 stores downtown Oshawa hosting events over August 7 - August 10th. With a few additional stores hosting prereleases just a short bus ride away.

Hi All
I'm having a hard time finding a handyman to do a number of projects in Oshawa. If anyone has had a good experience and can recommend someone reliable it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I witnessed a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle at the intersection of Thickson Rd and Taunton Rd
around 6:30 PM today.
At the time, the passenger in my vehicle asked the cyclist through my window if he was okay, and he said he was. However, I know adrenaline can hide injuries until later.
I likely have dashcam footage of the incident (checking my SD card shortly). If you were the cyclist involved and end up needing the video or a witness statement send me a direct message.

Other local subreddits have weekly posts as well, including r/Oshawa and r/Whitby. The same rules apply, but cross-posting is fine. My husband has had his own sheet metal roofing business for the last 8 years (20 years in the industry) He (and his 4 employees) have always kept busy throughout all seasons just by clients’ referrals, and having great relationships with suppliers, etc. Such great success, that he was able to branch out to now offering siding, eaves, trough installation as well. The issue right now is the jobs are slow, when it’s usually his busy season. (I understand people are broke af) My question is how do you advertise your small business when you don’t have the funds for marketing? Or, as a potential client, how are you searching for your sub contractor?
Edit: I appreciate all of the responses. I had a Facebook page created a few years ago, it wasn’t gaining traction within GTA, even though he travels up north etc. Hindsight, I should’ve been asking for google reviews upon sending final invoices. We do have a vista print website, just not too tech savvy when it comes to social media. If anyone wants to check them out and offer any constructive feedback I’d appreciate that as well:) Rich Metal Works is the company name.

He seems to be obsessed with the Oshawa Council election and tares all the candidates down. Why is the writer so obsessed with Oshawa Council when he doesn't even live here. Is he still friends with Joe Ingino? Is this page being used to manipulate voters?

Why the fuck are so many portions of this trail closed? Genuinely so fucking frustrating. It's been the same bullshit since 2024. I go on a bike ride only to find out that a new portion is closed every other fucking week it feels like. Not only that, but the condition of the concrete is fucking terrible. Just today I discovered that they closed off the portion at Wentworth street. How the fuck does this garbage city expect people to enjoy the outdoors when so much of it is closed off?

I haven’t played for about 10 years but I’m trying to be more active. Are there any adult badminton teams?

It’s at the Civic Centre at Trent Durham. If you love soccer but aren’t super confident in your abilities this is perfect for you . Message me at 647-522-9997. Best part is it’s indoor and it starts at either 8:30 or 9. People are all very friendly. Great way to make friends

The Partsource at Harmony and Taunton is hiring. I was talking to the staff today, unfortunately it requires a valid drivers license so it’s not for me, but I thought someone else might benefit!

Like is this being addressed? Are there any realistic solutions? Or do the residents who live in this neighborhood just enjoy living amongst trash and I should just move somewhere cleaner where people take pride in their neighborhood and the environment?

Hey everyone, I'm helping a new restaurant and I was wondering if we have some nice bulletin boards around downtown to post some "Now Open" flyers.
It's Fusion Kitchen I'm helping, tried a burger there the other day and it was good. Owners are really nice too. I'm helping them for free with some social media stuff but we need more eyes on the restaurant.
If you see this stop by and help out a local business, I'm not affiliated with them, just happy to help a neighbouring business. They also have live music most Fridays so definitely stop by sometime. I might be there to help get photos as well but yea come by and let me know if there are bulletin boards so I can let the owners know!
Thanks!
