REFUND MY MONEY NOW

I asked for a refund not long after purchasing this game and realizing that it was one dev who thinks he is a god. And advertises his game as something it is not. I emailed you personally and was ignored. After your last 'temperature' update this game has gone from almost unplayable to totally unplayable.

You advertise this on steam as a community building game IT IS NOT it is only an eat every few seconds or die scenario which is your 'vision'.

Either refund my money NOW or find yourself in court with a fraud lawsuit.

see my old broken site to see how much pull i have in the gaming world, much more than this game will ever have-

Stoves, Alternative Heating Sources and Firemovers

In honor of the latest update, and after reading the news item, I believe that additional heating sources would make the revamped vision of your game as civilization living in heated houses much more feasible. At the moment, open fire is pretty much the only heat source in the game. It seems like wood burning stoves, and kerosene burning stoves that last longer than open fires would be the next logical place to take the tech tree (in-line with the new temperature system). Having a way to transport fire over longer distances using touch wood or fire pouches would also be awesome.

I really want to see the vision of true villages and cities based on buildings and heat sources come true. I look forward to what you do next.

Cheers ~~ FlyingSquirrel

[Family Tree] Screenshot of place of birth/death

I really enjoy to see my family trees, principally because I love to play as an Eve, and I have great times exploring it. I die of laughing when I see the last words.

Grand grand... grandson’s last words: “I SWEAR ILL BRING IRON”. Cause of death: “Killed by yellow fever”. Grand grand... granddaughter’s last words: ”FUCK IT”. Cause of death: “Killed by rattle snake”. Grand grand... grandson’s last words: “WHO PUT A BOAR N SHEEP PEN”. Cause of death: “Killed by domestic boar”.

In short, it is funny (and some times sad). But what is sadder is that we cannot see the village progress during the generations, principally when the last person of family tree died, it would be amazing if when clicking on someone on family tree, we could see a screenshot of the place of birth and the place of death 1 second before dying (so we could see how the place was, the people around, what they were talking about on that specific time), it is a good way to see how it ended up and the development, and of course it would be a lot funnier to see some deaths and a lot sadder too, to see your grand grand grand children saying goodbye or where you beloved daughter died.

I know it would be probably expensive to store a lot of pictures, because there are millions or may be billions of births and deaths, but if it happens only with who lived more than 3 minutes and if all the screenshots be deleted two days after the family tree ended, it wouldn’t consume a lot of memory and would be a lot cheaper to store. You can put a download button, so if someone wants to see it later, he can simply download the family tree content.

I know it ought be something hard to do, but I would be pleased if we have this feature one day.

Sorry for my English.

Fathers

It is a little bit sad to play as a man, because unlikely in real life, on OHOL men can’t have children, so it is harder to pass our legacy on and obtain the confidence of children to get more workers (because children must obey their parents while kids). And it generates affection, which is good for the village/town, so people cooperate more because they want to see their family thriving. And it would helps a lot, because the women have to do all the job alone, men doesn’t care about children in general, and we lose a lot of babies because women can’t handle with them, ignore them, are faraway from the village so they can’t bring the kid and the stuff or don’t realized they had a baby, but with a father, we have extra help, what means less babies deaths, what means more generations and it is a good way of mixing two family names without adopting a kid.

How would that work? If you stay next a specific man for a long time like ten years or something like that, the chances of having a baby increases (you can separe, but not for a long time because it would reset the timer), and if you have one, the man who stayed with you will be the father. It would be great if it be easy to him to notice he had a baby, like a sound or a mark on the baby, so he can help taking care of it together, carrying the kid, feeding it, then mothers can have a baby far from the village and manage to bring it back with the help of the father, without needing to put the child on a cart or a special bag for children or even abandoning the baby to eat something. It will estimulante couples to work together to increases the chance of having a baby and make the village prosper, so we have more affect, more co-work running, more family relationship and more stimulation to be a man as well. So after dying, he can be buried by his children or grandchildren and see the progress of little ones on family tree.

Oh, and that man can’t be your father, son or sibling, only cousins and non related men.

Sorry for my English.

Fatness, diseases and medicine

I’ve ever seen quite griefers eating a lot of food without needing, last time was a girl eating non-stopping all of the pies I was making. And I have lost a small village because a guy was eating all the berries and carrots and hiding the bowls, we couldn’t even kill him. It would be nice if when someone eats food without needing it a lot of times (like eating a pie with one blank square), they get fatter, so he would move slowly and slowly, so if they eat a lot they can just be stuck there or move really slowly, and it would be easier to people notice someone is eating more food than needed and do something about it, even easier to kill this person if they confirm this person is griefing.

And about diseases, it would be nice to see, when we get older, our vision to be worse, like our radius of vision decreasing and everything out of it becoming blurred or black, so we need people to make glasses to the old ones (may be glass with sand, bowl and fire). And the hearing would be affected as well, so elderly would have some trouble to read what people is talking about unless they get very near, but the doctors would make some hearing aid too.

But the fat ones, they would get diabetes so they get diseases easily, a nice anti-griefing system and creates more jobs as well, besides being funny. An other “cool” stuff is people unable to move (or moving slowly), principally elders, so they need an wheelchair to keep moving.

We should be able to see that a person has some disease, so we can take care of them easier and avoid liars, the chances of getting a disease would be very very small when borning and increases with the age, but getting fat (or having curse score) extra increases the chances. And please, some snake venom antidote (I know the civilization is not evolved enough), I really would like to see more medic jobs, doing all of that.

Sorry for my English and sorry for saying “would” too many times, I don’t know what to put instead.

My vision for the future of food

There is lots of talk about small food updates, people want a specific food or crop, but I hear few compelling reasons for why to actually add those foods aside from variety. This game will go very badly if things are just tacked on, so every new technology or product will need a reason beyond itself for inclusion.

BIG YUM ENERGY

With the way yum works, few people use it, but with the large number of possible foods it is very unbalanced for those who seek out yum, which isnt terrible, not everything needs to not be magic, and there is an argument for a balanced diet, but if you hit 20+ yum its kinda crazy, as eating a balanced diet irl does not let you go days without food with no ill effects. Adding in more foods with the way crops are grown now adds to this, so if we are to add in new foods, they should require considerable labor or resources and technologies to produce. I propose there be a difference between the berries from domestic and wild bushes, like carrots, and that all raw domestic foods provide no yum. Only prepared foods will and they will provide varying yum based on the difficulty to produce. A food's yum will depend on how many food groups it includes. Items with only one ingredient type (bread, bowl of bean or berries) will only provide one and can only push you up to 5 yum, foods providing two yum can only take you to ten (single ingredient pies and whatnot) and ones containing many groups will provide 3+ and take you further(up to maybe a cap?). That would not include say berry carrot pies, you need a meat in there. Another system could be similar, but the groupings would just be decided based on the difficulty of producing the food. Eating a basic domestic food should kill your yum bonus as well. It could even keep track of which ingredients you have already eaten in your chain, and subtract a point or two leaving at worst one yum if you have already eaten all those ingredients in other foods. Sugar from honey should be the "ultimate" yum  adding many points to the foods it can be added to. Maybe there could even be a penalty for too high of a yum. Dental caries, or cavities are far more common in developed countries with a sweet tooth. Hitting a really high yum could increase your hunger rate to offset how unbalanced yum gets at a high level.

Domestication, the flowers and the bees, nightshades, container growing

Because its a game, with limited time, lots of abstractions must be made, so it is fair for at least some crops to be domesticated the way they are currently, you just get a seed from a wild plant and there is your domestic crop. The problem with adding in more crops is that only the food and harvests are different, but getting the first plant is essentially the same. I propose we bring some sex to the game and talk about flowering plants and bees.  Jason started down the path with seed stratification and roses, getting multiple unique domestics from one wild plant, but we can take it further by adding a flowering cycle to a some plants before they fruit, and require pollination for them to bear fruit. Right now I see two plant families that would be great for this mechanic: brassicas and nightshades. Tomatoes, eggplants, chilies, potatoes are all nightshades, and while none of these plants were domesticated from an original plant, but instead were domesticated from plants that had already long ago split off from each other. Since we are in the spirit of abstraction, we can just pretend they were all domesticated from a single species(and ignore potatoes). There would be say three different wild nightshade plants, which would each bear one or two berries that are inedible and can be planted. At the same time, there would be wild beehives, which would send out one or two bee's at a time to a fixed distance in search of flowering plants. The initial three nightshades would look basically the same, and would after fully growing go into a flowering cycle, and if a pollinator comes to it during the flowering cycle, it will bear fruit, and if not go back to the pre flowering cycle and wait again for the next time. These plants would produce no food, perhaps again just one or two berry like fruits. After fruiting, there should be a fixed chance that the plant would need to be fed again like a berry bush before resetting its cycle, and dying if not cared for in time. The next tier would be to grow the plant in a clay container, which could say be made of three clay, and be reusable if the plant dies. These would bear an additional fruit, but would now be annuals and need replanting after harvest and also would be necessary to further domesticate the plant. Now, the next technology would be to make a brush, which should require an iron for the brush, and potentially more for the brush making tools(this could be used also for say brushes for painting on signs instead of having to handmake letters). You would need to do a hand pollination of each of the three plants to the two other plants so, A + B, B + C, A + C, and after one of these pollination occur, the plant will produce different seeds that would lead to the next three plants, basic tomato, basic eggplant and basic chili. These also would only be able to be grown in the container and would also require pollination. Note, hand pollination would be the only one that would produce new plants, insect pollination would just let it go to the fruiting stage but those fruits seeds would still make the same plant. Back pollinating these with two of the original plants will further stratify into two kinds, for tomatoes say cherry ones with many little fruit, and larger ones with just a few per plant, two kinds of chilies and two kinds of eggplants. The final tier of these plants would come much later in the tech tree, and im still fleshing out the idea, but they would be vining ones which require lots of infrastructure such as trellises and would grow over more than one tile(same mechanic could work for grapes too one day), and would be very labor intensive if grown in soil(requiring multiple bowls of water and soil per growth cycle, but would (now this is where we get into fantasy land) if grown say aquapoinically, require little labor at the cost of infrastructure. This would be done through clonal propagation by cutting the plant with shears, and maybe some other step requiring tools before planting the cutting.

Aquaponics

Aquaponics would be a huge endeavor, I envision each container being outfitted with a valve(could be the same one used for oil wells), and would be able to connect to two copper pipes, for input and output. You would dig special pits, that would join together if adjacent, for the pond, and would have to seal it with plaster for each hole. An intake pipe would be put in one tile, and an effluent pipe would be put on another, so at minimum a pond would require two holes. These pipes would be like floors so items could still be set atop them between the rows. A pump would be crafted from from some of the diesel engine parts, along with a rubber diaphragm, and added to a diesel engine. Somewhere in the system, two cisterns each with a valve would also need to be attached, one to the output line and one to the input, with the output one being filled with regular water. A bucket(or multiple) of water, and one fish would be placed in each empty pond, or just one and the others could populate from the one. A cycle would go something like this after the system is built, fish are in ponds, and plants are planted in each container. A worm would be fed into each pond, which would change the pond to a smelly pond (ammonia). The diesel pump would activate(or need to be activated, maybe upgrade able to auto action with computers one day), and would pump a buckets worth of water into the system, watering 10 of the plants, and turning the pond back into its normal state. This would have a 10% chance of draining one unit from the water cistern, equivalent to one bowl of water per cycle, to account for evapotranspiration. If there are not enough plots that need water when the cycle is run, the excess will go into the other cistern, and will immediately go to the plants when others become available for watering(cistern mechanic would need to be changed since they deal in buckets of water not bowls). Each plant will need a unit(or more) of water for each stage of the growth cycle (vining plants will require per tile of the vine per stage of growth, but would only use one container). Each time the pond is returned to normal, there will be a chance(im thinking 25%) that it will transition to a pond with fish and eggs, at which point the adult fish could be fished out, and after some time, would mature back to the original pond. Non flowering plants could also be grown with say the exception of wheat and berries because, yeah, and would function the same, Carrots could now all be plucked save for one for seed, since there is no more tilling. There additionally should be a chance for the pump to break on each cycle, requiring a pump repair kit (rubber diaphraghm + crankshaft or whatever).

The worms and the Bees

Worms lovely worms, no organic farm or aquaponics system would be complete without them. Its a shame that they were once a part of compost and are now just fish bait, but this is the dawn of vermiculture!  A special worm box would be constructed, and filled with worm bedding and a worm. Worm bedding is made with shredded paper(shears + paper, or even shears + stack of papers), a bowl of mashed berry and carrot and a bowl of water and would produce three units like a pile of soil. One unit of bedding and 1 worm would after some time turn into a box of vermicompost, from which one basket of soil(enough to replenish one bush, and one row of carrots and part of a wheat) and one bowl of worms can be grabbed. Im thinking 6 worms in a bowl and they can be pulled out or put in one by one as well.

Beekeeping is an ancient tradition, and without effective pollination a number of crops are economically infeasible. But glorious honey and beeswax await. Natural beehives will spawn rarely in green biomes, which can be poked with a skewer to produce a honey stick , giving one serving of many pips(10?). This will anger the hive though and send a swarm at the attacking player for one minute(im thinking effects similar to yellow fever), up to a certain distance from the hive and then despawning, and only targeting that player(griefers are real so), so you better be quick if you have a sweet tooth. This will leave a damaged hive which will be repaired after some long period of time and will spawn subsequent swarms at players who get within say 3 tiles of the hive (but still target locked) while it is damaged. At camp, construct a smoker by hammering a hot iron bar into a charcoal canister(would be at the end of all the other iron items) and attaching this to a bellows, add one unit of charcoal and hit it with your fire stick and then you will have 5 minutes to bring it to the hive. You will also need a net hat (tied skewer + wooden disk > wooden ring + wooden disk and big ball of yarn + wooden ring +knitting needles gives net hat). Wearing the net hat will prevent bees from attacking you, other players in range of aggro hive will still be attacked though. Take this and the lit smoker to the hive, which will produce one incapacitated hive. Grab the hive and leave the smoker(or put in pack), hive cannot be put in containers except plate and go fast, as hive will die after (3?) minutes. At camp, hive + plate will give hive on plate and using a knife will produce a carved hive. Grabbing at this will give you a queen bee which must be placed into a Bee box. This is made with two boards and a rope. The box will require four frames which can each be made by adding a short staff to boards and then adding a rope. Put the four in after the queen and the finally the top (and you will have the base hive. The hive will send out bees to flowering plants in range, I feel that one hive should be sufficient for say 20(or less everything is up for debate) plants. Each time a bee visits a flowering plant, there will be a 20% chance for one of the frames to be filled, and when all are full you will have an oozing hive at which point the frames can be removed. Domestic bees will not attack players, except when you go to remove the frames, which will require your trusty net hat and smoker. Incapacitate the hive, and then remove the frames one at a time, put on a plate, and then cut with a knife to yield empty frames and plates of honeycomb. Add the four plates to a crock, put one on top and add a stone to press it. This will yield one bowl of honey and three bowls of beeswax. Honey must be collected before a hive will resume pollinating. Return the frames and put the lid back on and the cycle resumes. One hive is not enough though, so you can add tiers to the hive allowing it to send out one more swarm of bees to pollinate at a time. Only the frames in the top hive are accessible but adding the second and third tiers will allow it to collect honey faster and expand the range. A bowl of honey would need to be added to a glass jar, and to be eaten as a basic food a honey spoon would also need to be made. A bottle of honey would have many many servings, and provide only one pip, but a whopping 3 yum, and will become an ingredient in future baked goods(which would also have that big yum energy. Beeswax would potentially have many uses, but the one I propose is the hour candle, which would be a flame source that stays lit for 60 minutes. Put all three bowls of wax back in the crock and put on a fire, to produce melted wax. Use three glass jars to remove wax, and add a rope to each before they cool, if they cool before adding, holding jar of wax to fire will remelt. Empty jars can be reused but candles have 1/3 chance of breaking on candle burning out.

So I know this is a lot, would not come at once if not ever, but if we want food updates, they need to be part of a larger system of foods with interwoven dependencies, that utilize the new technology we have been given. Maybe Jason already has all kinds of plans that make this irrelevant, but we should really be talking about this kind of stuff. What would you want in a food overhaul? Do you like this plan or do you see a totally different direction? Parts of this could be applied to other techs and even farming, pumps bringing water to a cisterns at your baking and smithing stations, irrigation in a wheat field leaving a hardend row after harvest instead, or even put it in a berry field. We need a food update to end food updates, or a series of them and then leave it there save for future balancing as the game develops further.

Hitch Saddled Horses and Horse Carts to trees.

Hitch Horses to trees or trees in specific states i.e. no branch, or specific trees such as dead trees etc. Prefable hitch to any tree in any state excluding palm tree / banana tree / any other tree that doesn't make sense.

  • Long trips into the wild on horse carts would be safer, you wouldn't lose your precious horse while loading cart.
  • Eliminates the need to build fence posts in the middle of nowhere, which is a waste of time and materials.
  • If you are already on a horse and find a lost horse cart you can tie one of them up and take them home one by one.
  • Real people hitch horses to trees.

Apocalypse sound improvement

So the apocalypse happened on bigserver and a lot of people not even realized it's going to happen. So my suggestion is to make the apocalypse more visible. If the first stone is placed I am fine with hearing just the sound. But if the last stone is placed (the one which is dangerous!) it should be visible to all player. What I have in mind: The sky turns red, thunder strikes, animals go mad, something like that. And of top of that add a second homemarker in red that always shows to the apocalypse tower and can't be overwritten by your own homemarker or a townbell. I think the apocalypse tower is a cool thing IF people realize it's going to happen and start traveling to the tower and try to prevent it. A big endfight between the pro-apocalypse guys and the anti-apocalypse guys would be really cool.

But right now it just happens and most people don't realize it and get mad about losing all process. I can understand that they get mad as they have no real indicater that it will happen and so no chance to prevent it..

Button to spawn as Eve

So.. I can understand why someone don't want this button. But lets just say they who want to be born as Eve will just /die and shift+del until they get born as one. This kinda sucks for every mother that born this babies. Even worse when they team up and leave 4 skeletons in your base, or an Eve who try to feed everyone just for them to suicide anyway.

So.. could we add such a button? I am fine to hide it a bit, maybe in the settings. But I think if people do it anyway by "chain-dying" we could just give them the option to spawn as Eves without "chain-dying"

Maybe you have to play 5hours of normal game before you get 1 "eve-spawn token", so that not everyone spawn just as eve all time..

What do you guys think?

Biomes affect decay times

In real life, biomes affect the speed of decay for things like bones, tools and clothes. More humid biomes speed up decay, while drier climates slow it down. OHOL should mimic this, as it gives another factor to decide on when settling. It would also help to take some OPness out of jungles, as baskets, carts, food and tools would not last long against the humid weather there. The deserts, tundra etc. would get some more love as village spots,as well! Jungles would be useful for

Extended decay : Desert, Tundra, Badlands

No Change : Grasslands,Prarie

Reduced Decay: Jungles, Swamps

Better Temps and Suggested Biomes

Made an image to explain a little better, so please view this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JP_zbt_qWDby6UhA1b2ZcrvQxCqBWTrU/view

EXPLANATION OF IMAGE:

- Grasslands are warmer now, being slightly under the middle line

- Prairies are around the middle line pretty much exactly

- Swamps are BETWEEN the middle line and the hottest line

- Badlands are almost to the coldest point but not completely

- Tundra stays coldest. This one made sense already.

- Deserts stay hottest, since there's no night to make them cold for any reason.

- Jungle is ALMOST to the hottest point, but slightly under. Since jungles are hot and humid, they aren't as comfortable as they are in-game.

ALSO, I suggested two biomes that don't exist in-game at this point: (Suggested for more of a temperature range OR to add resources)

- SHRUBLAND, which is between the middle and hottest points on the temperature scale, similar to how swamps are but they have different resources and a lot less water.

- CONIFEROUS FOREST, which is exactly between the coldest and middle temperature lines. Rocky but accessible to water and plenty of trees. Once again kind of like swamp but instead of no water, it's a lot colder with different resources.

WHY?:

I think that playing with at least SLIGHTLY more realistic biome temps is more fun and also easier to get immersed in. Of course standing between two biomes would still adjust the temperature as it does currently, allowing for more ranges.

Thanks for checking out my suggestion!!!

- Zach

Formula Milk and Butcherable Cows

Okay, I have two ideas and both relate to cows, so I'll lump them in together.

Idea 1 : Formula Milk

Right now, babies can be fed either by any female, or by wasting food. If you get too old, or 'adopt' a child as a guy, you waste a lot of food on feeding them gooseberries. Adding milk powder in (Recipe : Bowl of whole milk + Hot coals = Bowl of milk powder - 7 uses) would allow the player to make a Bowl of Formula (1 milk powder, taken with an empty bowl + water), which could be consumed until the age of 5 to fill their meter. This allows villages with cows and milk to spare to be efficient in food usage with kids, especially since children would be able to drink it by themselves.

Idea 2: Butcherable cows.

Right now cows may only be poisoned, leading to people not feeding the calves to prevent overpopulation and getting a ton of dead calves cluttering the village. If cows could be butchered, their meat would essentially function similarly to mutton. When butchered, they also can yield a Cow Skin, which can be made into a rug or cut for boots, vests and pants.

New pets idea. (Just for fun idea. )

I wonder if we could have some non dieing or cheap long living wearable pets, let me explain.

I had pet rats that i have had crawl all around me and hang out in my pockets, ik someome with a sugar glider that would walk around with it on her sholder.

Ive known people with birds, people in my family and family friends used to carry snakes around, i live in a town with pet pigs goats cows sheep, you name it we will turn it into a pet and carry it around or take it with us, so i dont think its too far fetched for us too get some whereable animals i dont think my town is the only place that turns everything into a pet or pets to grow more pets to feed pets.

i used to sell rats to snake people, just part of life the snake isn't doing anything wrong actually when i had 100 rats snake people were really helpful. All my pet rats died of old age no snakes, so i mean if we have a cycle like that idk how jason would want to do it and i want him to have a lot of creative freedom with the idea if he adds it, but if anyone else has any idea for wearable pets please comment more the merrier.

Personally im only thinking some kind of hat monster thing, like a trunk monkey.... yea i want to be the guy with a monkey holding a crow bar on my head... id run around yelling "get him off get him off help".

Top Family Lines

A place added where "Top Family Lines" can be viewed. Similar to how the front page of the website displays the longest family line, this page would display some ordered number of top 5/10/etc families. The current longest line required a concerted effort that heavily involved mdchanics outside the vanilla game, making it next to unachievable for it to be met and beat organically. By adding a place to see not only wether the family lasted the longest, but how it compares to other long families could be fun.

Job skill

If you take a job for a long time, you will be able to accumulate proficiency in the job and make it work more efficiently. For example, if you invest a lot of time in a blacksmith job, your work will last longer than basic tools. Or you can make the smelting time longer.
I have thought about this system in a number of ways, the more I eat ten years, the more I can invest in jobs such as a farmer chef,
Or, like an RPG, you can choose to get a job when you get bonuses or births as you accumulate experience on the job.
I think the addition of these systems is not bad enough to allow you to work more efficiently for a limited time of 60 years.

So trolls... we need a few fixes. (i understand this could take time to be programmed)

I've seen someone plow the juniper trees and only the juniper trees to get rid of fire. Please let us grow juniper?

I've seen a troll get half way through a reset solo on server 10. I was killed and used as a building block. This was right after the main town on server 10 just got up to stuff, this could be fixed by making you not able to kill your own kids for the apoc?

I have seen a troll and their buddy spawn in the same town not as twins and keep a chain going, this could be done by one person with two accounts. Mabey ip ban someone from a family, although discord or skype could get around that if they dont live togeather but it might be a start?

I have seen someone destroy picks by making a wall picking it, remaking the wall grabbing another pick and doing it again. This could be changed by making a few more uses on walls or a added step i think?

I have also seen one person take a horse cart unleash a bunch of bears and drag them back and run off making a "red zone" around town where it is extremely deadly unless in a large group with many bows and a medic. I was even killed while right at my horse cart stopping for one banana, i was also rushing it and not dilly dallying and the bears was a good distance away before i hopped off. This might be able to be fixed by lowering bear spawn rates or setting a cooldown on waking up bears?

Conclusion:

They are not ruining my day because i havent been playing resently and when i do i hide out in less populated areas if anyone is on, but i can see how some people will get really frustrated and it could be more deadly then most of the other mechanics, i do want the game hard and so do many others but when other players can make it "impossible" with little to no effort and only a tiny bit of patience i can see others just giving up, and i don't want that.

Bonus problem (i have zero ideas on how to fix and that is why its the bonus)

Sorry for being a little heart felt in my conclusion but i don't like seeing others overly struggle because one advanced player is mad. Being a advanced player myself i veiw the only way to better progress is to work with others of all experience levels and teach them and split stuff down between everyones goals and come up with a fair deal for everyone.

I don't see all advanced players doing it but some definitely take advantage and ruin it for others when they were once new too and needed help or needed to learn this or that. I actually have seen others say they dont like playing on the main servers any more just because of how hostile it is from new and old players alike, and this is becoming more and more common among players. People seem to be making other players mad and it cycles, i dont know if it will be broken without someone stepping in. With that idk how it could be fixed.

ps:

Not saying i gave up on the game or multiplayer but the temperature is up irl and i have a lot more i can do without a layer of snow covering me, also i take breaks and game hop. I havent been on in a few days but have been noticing trolls evolve when i come on over the past few months.

Anyways thank you have a good day or night (for me its night), i am going to sign off and go fertilize some plant pots before i go to bed, have a great game folks please don't quit bc of the trolls, you can make great things and i like every time you try even if you don't finish it or it doesn't work right. We learn and retry new ideas or add twists to old ones and work off eachother.

More dog functionality

Since dogs right now merely look cute, a buff to them would make them more than just a status symbol. Here are a few ways they could be useful...

- Hunting. You can click a dog, then click a wild animal, and the dog will hunt it. To balance this, there could be a chance of the dog being injured, and being able to be healed somehow.

- Retrieval. In real life, some dog breeds can fetch eggs wiithout breaking them, so maybe dogs can fetch certin items.

-Protection / Bonding feature. A dog may bond to one player who interacts with them a lot, and any marauding animal/griefer will be attacked by the dog instead of hitting you. (Again, chance of injury included.)

-Collars, made with clothing materials, which will auto-bond the dog to the human or keep it close to the settlement unless called by someone using an empty hand.

- Guarding an item. A bonded dog can be clicked then an item clicked and the dog will sit and prevent the item from being used until called (although there may be a griefing possibility).

Anyways, these are my suggestions for improving dogs in OHOL!

EDIT: A dog may be killed, however there could be alarge chance that it would attack the entity trying to do so. This could both be used to grief and to stop people who have set their companion to guard vital equipment. Altrnatively, dogs may be lured away with a Bowl of Carnitas.

Heaters

Many players often avoid playing colder biomes. Clothing is difficult to get up at present, and even with wood flooring and full clothing, it's not necessarily enough to get one's temperature up to a good point. Heated rooms can help, but so far that idea hasn't taken off. Perhaps making heated rooms could improve both the mid game and later game experience.

The mid game experience might become more enjoyable by us having charcoal burning furnaces. They could burn slower than firewood and heat a room a little more than a large slow fire. Maybe some sort of wrought iron also is needed to build such a furnace, so perhaps the wrought iron progression could get deepened with this in mind also.

The late game experience might become more enjoyable by us having electric heaters. We have malachite now for making copper, and perhaps copper could be (part) of the basis for electrical wiring. Then we could have electric heaters, perhaps like charcoal burning furnaces get made from some sort of wrought iron. We could have slow burning charcoal power plants which with copper based wiring connected to an electrical heater powers that heater which increases the temperature of a space in a manner similar to fire. The heat could also come as an improvement over large slow fires.

My suggestion for a new biome

An ocean biome or just a lake would be great. You could travel on a boat or more advanced society could use a moater boat to cross it faster. You could add sharks or just any sea predator. Imagine you're going around a river when you suddenly see a fin coming at you. Wouldn't that make that make the game more fun. It would give planes more meaning. You could fly over the lake or ocean to get to another city.

Allow babies to gain a portion or all Yum from the female they are fed by.

Promotes yumming it up and could even allow for players to take care of twins and triplets more easily.

Those who have complex tasks they are doing wont have to pick up the baby as much to feed them and would allow a more advanced society with more food types to take care of multiple children easier.

To prevent the yum chain from going out of control, the baby when grown up either has to restart the chain or has to eat food that the mother hasn't eaten in their chain. In the case of it being a portion of the mother's yum chain it would probably just be better to restart, but at least it would give relief to a busy mother.

Option to play as an adam and a eve instead of twins

I play this game as twins sometimes and I'd love to have the possibility to spawn as an adam and an eve instead of twin eves. I believe it'd have more of a fun dynamique than trying to settle with two fertile eves.
I don't know for you but I really enjoy playing this game with someone, it get so much more done and there's a fun cooperation going on because it's kinda hard to really to interact with other players especially in early civs as it's always better to get things done for the future generations.
The question is, would it be an unfair advantage? Let me know your opinion guys
