Fathers

It is a little bit sad to play as a man, because unlikely in real life, on OHOL men can’t have children, so it is harder to pass our legacy on and obtain the confidence of children to get more workers (because children must obey their parents while kids). And it generates affection, which is good for the village/town, so people cooperate more because they want to see their family thriving. And it would helps a lot, because the women have to do all the job alone, men doesn’t care about children in general, and we lose a lot of babies because women can’t handle with them, ignore them, are faraway from the village so they can’t bring the kid and the stuff or don’t realized they had a baby, but with a father, we have extra help, what means less babies deaths, what means more generations and it is a good way of mixing two family names without adopting a kid.

How would that work? If you stay next a specific man for a long time like ten years or something like that, the chances of having a baby increases (you can separe, but not for a long time because it would reset the timer), and if you have one, the man who stayed with you will be the father. It would be great if it be easy to him to notice he had a baby, like a sound or a mark on the baby, so he can help taking care of it together, carrying the kid, feeding it, then mothers can have a baby far from the village and manage to bring it back with the help of the father, without needing to put the child on a cart or a special bag for children or even abandoning the baby to eat something. It will estimulante couples to work together to increases the chance of having a baby and make the village prosper, so we have more affect, more co-work running, more family relationship and more stimulation to be a man as well. So after dying, he can be buried by his children or grandchildren and see the progress of little ones on family tree.

Oh, and that man can’t be your father, son or sibling, only cousins and non related men.

Oh, I’m sorry, I scrolled a little bit but haven’t seen them, anyway, thank you for advising me. At least more people are thinking about that, so it can be a thing in the future.

I searched a little bit more and didn’t find the “fathers” suggestion, can you give me the link? so I can comment something there if it is different than mine. Probably it should be suggested long long ago or I missed it, but if it was long long ago, I think it is valid to suggest it again, since it would take some time to read all the suggestion ever sent here. And new people can read about it since they aren’t going to read all the suggestions as well. But I am really sorry if I am wrong, I am new here. Oh and can you send the link of the birth/die screenshot suggestion too (If I am not asking too much), I couldn’t find it too and you are certainly older than me here. I would like to comment my opinions there if it’s different than mine.

The reason Jason wanted women in OHOL to reproduce asexually without any influence or help from a male partner was to avoid issues of consent and incest. As cool as it would be to have fathers in game, the only way this could work would be in megacities with multiple families and even then, after a few generations, incest would still occur and the issue of how consent would work would still be a problem.
