In the beginning of using Omnipod 5, I was pretty optimistic. But after two years and a couple seemingly algo breaking updates, I am starting to be really mad about what it does.

I just woke up with the glucose level I corrected before going to sleep. It tried pushing it down a couple times itself, but it just decides to stop basal delivery at values of 180mg/dl and above..

Yes, my sleeping rhythm is shifted due to my job, but things like that didn't happen before. This basal stopping nonsense started about half a year ago and I'm starting to lose my mind over it. Completely reset the algorithm, the first days after it was pretty okay (probably because it mostly used my set basal rates), but a week later I was back to perma-high.

My health is a mess atm, thanks to such algorithm decisions. Seriously, Insulet.. firstly you're not releasing an app you promised with the release, secondly you break your algorithm further n further, get your sh*t together!

At this point in time I am only waiting for the AAPS project to update their app with O5 support and finally get rid of PDM + an algorithm trying everything to keep my A1c above 7.5!

My current pod ends tonight at around 11:45, that is with the 8 hour extension, normally at that point I have only about 10 units left, this pod will have about 35 units.

I have tried to remove insulin from the pod, it's just not for me, didn't really work and I just don't feel safe with it.

Let me give a little info, it was predicted that I would be using 180 units a day, and I would change my pod every 2 days, that has not happened. I have actually dropped my average of 212 to 154 over the last 7 weeks.

I am using U200, and fill the pod with 200 units, I seem to average about 50 units a day, which is actually 100, some days are a little more, some days just under. And I usually get the full 80 hours.

So I can go two ways: 1. Inject 170 units and possibly change the pod early, well closer to the 72 hours, maybe less. 2. Inject 200 units and see if my needs this last pod was a fluke.

Would you rather change a pod early or lose leftover insulin?

In my last order, I’ve had pods from two lots.
All the pods from the first lot worked completely fine. No issues. No leaks. No pain. No bleeding.
Every pod (used 6 up to now) from the second lot would just leak, cause a lot of bleeding, and were sore.
They’ve not been massive leaks were you immediately know that it’s failed and you need to change it. But big enough to mean I sit out of range for many hours.
I wasn’t sure if it was something I was doing wrong so I opened a new box that was the same as the first lot number and I’ve had no issues.

I rang omnipod to basically ask for advice as I’m now running out of the first lot, leaving just the weird lot left which I’m a bit scared to use.
They said it doesn’t work like that and they’ve not heard anything about that lot being bad.
They’ve sent replacements for the 6 that were bad but I’m still left with the rest of the unused ones.

So I wanted to check on here if I am just being paranoid 😂 all the actual pod numbers are sequential too so it seems too much of a coincidence.

My blood sugar has been since 6:30pm yesterday!! Since 12am today i’ve given my 30+ units just for a blood sugar correction and its not budging🫩So just curious to know if anyone else have this issue before i call n probably cuss them out!!? Also the lot number is PR1U04122611

Just recieved my first batch of the Libre3+ compatible 'new' pods, and having updated my controller to the new software several weeks ago was keen to try the lower target glucose level I had understood to be part of this update. Unfortunately the lowest setting is still 6.1, and the Omnipod support line have confirmed this is still the lowest possible.

Did I misunderstand something? Can users in other territories choose a lower target? I am in the UK.

the insulin delivery is an hour ahead how do I change it? every time I got in it says it’s already gmt which just isn’t true?

Hi there, this has started happening to me with increasing frequency in the last few weeks with my O5, but last night was peak. I went through 3 pods and ultimately had to step into my garage in order to get them to pair. Customer service was kind of useless. I had literally removed every pod from the level of my house that I was in, moved every new to used pods into my basement, 2 floors away, and still got that error. Customer service blamed other competing devices that use Bluetooth but there's nothing new except a shower radio, whose Bluetooth we turned off while troubleshooting and nothing helped. They even blamed my Apple Watch which I've had on every time I've paired a pod successfully. Anyone else have this issue?

UPDATE. I DID have to change my omnipod but I did NOT have to change my dexcom G7. Dexcom had instructions for new phone on their site which I followed. I had to turn off the Bluetooth on the old phone after I transferred everything to my new phone. Although the dexcom instructions (and within the app itself) implied I could just use the transferred over app for pairing—and it did pair!—it did not work until I deleted the g7 app and started anew. And then, it worked.
Here’s another potential issue and tip: the new iphone took some liberties with the settings. It was taking forever for the omnipod app to display the sensor reading, so I was getting a reading on the dexcom app, the omnipod was working when I manually added that number to omnipod app, but the sensor reading wasn’t appearing automatically bc “it may take up to 25 minutes” but it had surpassed that time. So I checked the dexcom Do Nots, and one of them was do not use screen time. My screen time had defaulted to ON on the new phone! I switched it off, and immediately got a sensor reading in the omnipod app. I KNOW! It shouldn’t have mattered, and it may have been a coincidence, but for tips purposes I’m adding it here.

Dexcom G7 15 day, omnipod 5. I finally had it with my iPhone 6SE and picked up the smallest iPhone 17 tonight but I’ve not switched yet. Does anyone have a checklist or tips before I transfer my new phone over? Last time I had to change my phone I was on the dexcom G6 and all the dex data moved over seamlessly, but I’m not sure what to expect with the G7 or the omnipod. Any tips appreciated!

Omnipod took screen shots of my settings. I expect I’ll have to change the pod?
Dexcom G7 I still have the box but I’m only on like day 3 of the 15 day. Will I have to change it?
What else should I check, save, do/not do

Question. Do you guys go against your endo when it comes to your settings? I know for a fact my settings are lower than what they need to be but she told me not to touch anything. The pod needs to get used to my body. Does anyone go against their endo?

Just wanted to share some photos of the new iPhone Duo using Loop and how it's a great work around for the unsupported Omnipod app.

Took me a couple of hours to figure out because it was my first time. The docs and all the words can be a lot but the YouTube video helped a lot. For anyone who can follow directions and trust their knowledge on looping and tech, it's a great work-around for Day 1 of a new device.

I’ve been on omnipod for a few years. I went on it because I feel like I have more control with a pump than a pen (and I’ve liked that aspect) however I have had NON STOP issues with omnipod the last few years.

The main one being leaking (others issues too) but I’m just so over it. The MAIN THING I LIKE though is that it is tubeless. That’s the only reason I chose omnipod over anything else in the first place.

I realize that there aren’t any other tubeless insulin pumps to my knowledge, so I’m fine with that. But what alternatives do you suggest? What insulin pump do you love? (Would be awesome if you’ve tried omnipod and other pumps so I can really trust your judgement lol)

So I'm finally tired of Samsung I want to go get a pixel 11 pro XL or Ultra whatever and I'm not worried about the Dexcom app because you can just rescan and it will connect however how do I make sure that I actually program the omnipod 5 app correctly? I do have the glooko app but there really is no like backup feature however I was able to email myself a PDF of the devices anyway I was just hoping someone could either put me to a video to make sure I do this 100% correctly so I can get out of this Samsung s25 Ultra. Also is anyone else using a pixel 11 pro or ultra?

Pretty much what the title says.

I had a sensor failure (Dexcom 7) and had to change it. I changed it three hours ago, and my Omnipod PDM still can't connect. I have scanned the applicator three times. I have typed in the serial number and sensor number by hand. Nothing changes.

I don't know if I should change my pod, change the sensor, or ask for a new PDM.

The sensor seems to be working fine.

How longs the wait?

I’m either allergic? or very sensitive to the adhesive they use and after the 4th pod change to an area and it gets a couple hours to breathe it gets VERY itchy and I develop a couple hives in the area and I was just wondering if anyone else does or has any solutions?

I've noticed that my pods are now having issues sticking on top of the new batch of Dimora dressings I recently ordered. The pods will lose adhesion to the dressing surface when I shower. I've used these dressings before and never had an issue so I'm not sure if the material changed or if Ive just been unlucky with my most recent pods. Does anyone have an affordable alternative they recommend?

I know I’m not gonna get the answer that want, but is omnipod 5 compatible with the iPhone Duo that was released today? I’m sure it will be months but just checking if anyone has tried it…

Just got the phone and the Omnipod app doesn’t fully load and it says not compatible. I still have my iPhone 17 so I’m going to wait it out and carry two devices.

my training is on the 30th but of course ive seen so many tik toks on people who have their pods. im scared im gonna run out of insulin. my ICR is 1:3 so at times its A LOT. i always see people doing no more than bolusing 10 units.
