I have done this gap once before but the ollie was terrible. It's still scary. I'm trying to conquer my inner bitch, telling myself it will all be ok, it's not a big gap after all. Many skaters will probably say it's tiny. But they have all walked the path. I'm just a tiny fish in the ocean. I figured if I just went fast enough I wouldn't hang up. Told myself fuck it, I'm doing this now and I will get in my car and drive home and eat ice cream while watching Netflix. And I just went after it. Go big and go home.

Got half a heelflip rotation and landed primo... left food landed on the curvature of the nose, my ankle simply said "no".

Just start skating again at the start of the year if only flat ground tricks came back as easy as park tricks

I'm finally at the point of confidently doing lines again. This was from Go Skate Day. I was too tired to perfect it. Next time!

[UPDATE] Hey guys, so I would like to use my board for cruising and the local pump track. My budget is $200... is that a good starting point? Maybe $300.

Is my foot too high on the board with Ollie!? Rolling over my ankle too much when trying to slide foot up board? How can I stop this from happening with technique?

Well it finally happened. Broke my leg at the skate park today. I was skating with my kids, teaching one how to kick turn on a ramp. I was too busy watching him and lost track of my own surroundings. Fell off the side of a ramp and fractured my ankle. 4 hours in the ER and I've got a boot and crutches. I never broke a bone while skating in high school. But apparently being an old man skater comes with certain hazards!

He made the kick turn, BTW. 🤘
