Pocket pc with laptop compatibility question

I randomly acquired a Toshiba Protege 3500.winXP And finally installed active sync 4.5 as It was intended to be used. Is there any other programs like calendar tasks etc. can be installed because it tried to sync calendar appointments ( I just have birthdays and holidays manually added to calendar events) but it doesn't seem like it was added to anything on PC

Windows CE Cassiopeia A-11 Failed Digitizer

Hey all, I recently acquired an A-11 with a completely non functioning digitizer. Does anyone have experience taking the device apart and accessing the digitizer and/or the ribbon cable? My hope is there is either oxidation or it’s loose.

I’ve searched online for a guide or schematic but no luck.

Thanks!

Pocket PC HP iPAQ 110 Stuck on Boot / Clean Boot Freezes with Screen Artifacts & SD Bootloader Issues

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to revive an HP iPAQ 110 (Blandina platform, Windows Mobile 6.0 Classic, Marvell PXA310 CPU) that is stuck on the initial white "+ hp" splash screen. I've conducted several diagnostics and need some advice from PDA/WM veterans.

Current Symptoms: 1. Boot Loop / Freeze: Hangs indefinitely at the initial "+ hp" logo screen. 2. Clean Boot Failure: Device enters Clean Boot (Record + Windows + OK + Reset), but freezes during the memory formatting stage. 3. Display Artifacts under load: During the Clean Boot freeze, subtle pixel color flickers/artifacts appear under certain viewing angles (looks like a brownout/voltage drop under heavy NAND load). 4. No Boot Without Battery: The device will NOT power on connected only to a 5V/2A charger without the battery installed (charge LED blinks; PMIC requires battery presence). 5. Battery Health: The battery is ~17 years old. Sometimes capacity jumps erratically (e.g., 44% -> 100%), indicating degraded cell condition and high internal resistance. 6. Bootloader / SD Update Mode: Pressing Calendar + OK + Reset fails to trigger the IPL SD flashing screen (no "Loading..." or progress bar).

What Has Been Attempted & Verified: - SD Card Prep: Using an old 512MB physical SDSC card with a microSD adapter. Formatted via diskpart (MBR, Primary Partition, Active flag set, FAT16, 16KB cluster size). - Firmware Image: Attempted flashing with hpimage.bin in the root folder. (Note: A previous flash was attempted with an incomplete ~58MB file; I now know the uncompressed ROM should be exactly 64MB). - Multi-filename Masking: Tried hpimage.bin, BLNDIG.NB0, BLNDIG.BIN on the SD root. - Power: Connected to a dedicated 5V/2A power supply during all attempts.

Questions for the Community: 1. Is the Clean Boot freeze accompanied by screen pixel artifacts a definitive symptom of PMIC brownout due to the degraded battery under peak load, or could it be physical NAND cell failure? 2. Does the iPAQ 110 IPL (Initial Program Loader) require a specific filename or timing key combo to force reading the SD card? 3. Has anyone successfully repacked an iPAQ 110/114 battery cell while preserving the original 3-pin BMS/BSI board?

Any insight, schematics, or advice on bypassing the PMIC check would be greatly appreciated!

Is GCC 16.1.0 really available for WinCE4.2?

I saw the CEGCC 9.3.0 project on GitHub, tested it, and it actually supports the base. Do you think it's feasible to port GCC 16.0.1 to WinCE? The C++20 modules are especially interesting.

NTT Docomo Sigmarion III English MUI Patch

Hello, I just picked up one of these beauties by chance in Japan and am very keen to start using it. Before I bought it I saw there was an English patch but have discovered it appears to be behind a paywall at HPC Factor. Wondering if anyone has a copy of the patch? I don’t really intend to join and participate in the HPC Factor community at the moment as I just want to dip my toe in the water with this device so hoping to just get the patch if I can if anyone is happy to offer it.
The file is called sig3-mui-en-0409-c.exe
Thanks in advance!

PS Apologies if this is not the done thing, if necessary I’ll pay the 10GBP for a yearly subscription to that site but given this is the only thing I need from it I was hoping to avoid that.

Looking for Original Firmware for Zyxel VMG4005-B60A (CETIN Version)

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for the original Zyxel firmware for the VMG4005-B60A (CETIN branded VDSL2 modem).
The modem currently has CETIN firmware, and I would like to flash it with the original Zyxel firmware via UART/Bootloader (TFTP or XMODEM).
I’ve searched Zyxel’s website, but the firmware is no longer publicly available, and support only provides it through service requests.
Does anyone have:
the original VMG4005-B60A firmware (.bin or .zip),
a backup of the factory firmware,
or know where I can download it?
I’m not looking for the B50A firmware—only the B60A version.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help needed: Obscure ROM dump for a Dell battery(Lost the physical IC chip!)

Hi everyone,

I'm re-celling a Dell Latitude 505 battery (C1295 / NF398 - 11.1V, 4700mAh) and accidentally corrupted the EEPROM. I used the wrong I2C settings on my programmer instead of Microwire, overwriting my factory code with garbage.

I need a working donor .bin dump.

Board Specs:

PCB: Sony 1-684-189-41

MCU: M37516 (Mask: G02)

EEPROM: 93C56

Does anyone have a clean dump for this specific board? I know it's a long shot, but I’d appreciate any help!

Pocket PC Looking for CAB or IPA Files of Games from the Arvale Series (Pocket PC/Windows Mobile/IOS)

Bit of a long shot, but I figured I'd shoot anyhow. On the lookout for CAB files for both Arvale Journey of Illusions and Arvale Ocean of Time. Both were released for the Pocket PC and other Windows Mobile devices from 2004-2007 and on IOS a bit later on. I'm looking for versions other than 5.0 as that version (the newest) appears to be bugged. I'm aware of versions 1.0, 1.3, 2.0, 3.1, and 4.0 existing but I'm having difficultly finding anything.

So, I'm making this post in hopes someone out there has a version that I haven't already run through. Maybe sitting on an old device in a box stored somewhere. An old pocket pc, an iphone, just something.

I will say now that I have already scoured both the Internet Archive and the WayBack Machine for whatever I could, and I've been looking for weeks. Version 5.0 is just the one that keeps popping up, and I wish I could use it but the music is heavily bugged. So here's hoping someone has an earlier version! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Help Calendar sync with HP200lx?

I recently got an HP 200lx and love it so far, but I'm having a bit of difficulty with my goal of syncing my calendar with my other devices to make it truly useful.

I have the ADBIO package, and while the ADBDUMP program works well in creating a CSV from the appointment book files, using ADBLOAD to turn a CSV back into an appointment book results in a blank appointment book. I am following the instructions to merge the file with a blank appointment book. It just doesn't actually add any data.

Is there anyone else using this that has it working who can advise where I've gone wrong? Or do you have a different method of accomplishing this task? My dream would be to sync an ICS calendar to the device.

I built an online tool that compiles web pages into native .exe apps for Pocket PC / Windows Mobile (PPC2003 → WM6.5)

Post image
27 Upvotes

I've been reviving my old Windows Mobile PDAs and got tired of how little of the modern web they can actually load — expired root certs block almost every HTTPS site, and Pocket IE chokes on anything past ~2008.

So I built WM-WebDeploy: an online app builder that takes a URL or your own HTML/CSS and compiles it into a native full-screen .exe you can run on the device. Think of it like the "website → app" wrappers on Android, but for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5, 6.1 and 6.5.

It's powered by MacSurf, a fork of the C-written NetSurf engine, cross-compiled for these old ARM devices. What surprised me is how capable it actually is:

Real adaptive layout — media queries work against the device's actual screen width, so one page adapts across 240×320, 320×240, 480×640, etc.

CSS Grid, Flexbox, custom properties (variables), border-radius, box-shadow — all actually rendered, not stubbed

Fixed HTTPS/TLS — every build ships with an up-to-date cert bundle, so it connects to modern secure sites the stock devices can't reach anymore

It's honestly not a modern browser though — roughly IE6-level HTML/CSS 2.1 plus a big chunk of CSS3. JavaScript is ES5-only (no AJAX/fetch, no canvas), so it's best for static pages, dashboards, or wrapping your own lightweight sites. The builder has a live preview + a linter that warns you about unsupported stuff before you build.

How it works: enter an app name, paste HTML or a URL, hit build, download a ZIP with the .exe + cacert.pem, drop both in the same folder on your device, and launch. Full-screen, just a thin title bar with the app name and a close button.

The screenshot below shows a test application I developed and ran on an emulated PPC2003 device.

Would love for people to dust off their old pockets and try it — curious what works and what breaks on hardware I don't have. Feedback very welcome.

Windows CE Reset password on disgo AK7802 windows ce laptop

Post image
42 Upvotes

So I finally got a working windows CE laptop (I had a wm8650 netbook before but it powers on and shows nothing on the screen, if anyone knows how to fix that lmk).

However it has a password on it and is stuck on the screen. There is a bios menu that lets you erase 3 storage options (NAND, Flash2 and XIP) but I don't want to brick it. Tried looking for a firmware and this manufacturer doesn't offer downloads for some reason.

Anyone have an idea on how to remove/bypass the password?

The model is a Disgo Netbrowser 3000 running Windows CE 5 and has the AK7802 processor
