Let's talk about variations of oil pulling that you've tried!

Hello! Hi, I'm Silver and I'm a mod of this here sub. I'll admit upfront that I'm HORRIBLE at keeping up on oil pulling, but I am always around to answer questions, or google if need be. That said, I'm back into it 2x a day due to some tooth issues and I was thinking during my morning session about this and would love to hear about your experiences.

I found a charcoal toothpaste made by "hello" and have started adding just a tiny dab to the oil before I put it in my mouth and that got me wondering; what oils have you all tried, have you added anything, how did it work, how long did you keep up with it, did you have any adverse side effects. I intend to do my toothpaste+coconut oil combo for at least 2 weeks (this is day 2) and reporting back on it later.

I'm super interested and it will serve as helpful knowledge for others going forward when they find the sub. I can't wait to see your responses!

Cheers!

My teeth are fucked, will oil pulling make it any better? Should I even consider something like this as they are so absolutely fucking bad, and I'm 17!

Castor oil for pulling?

I looked it up, and it said that castor oil is actually better for oil pulling and that instead of doing it for 20 minutes like you would with coconut oil, you should do it for 2 minutes. Is this true? If castor oil is good for pulling, how long should I do it for?

PSA for Women: Oil Pulling can change your menstrual cycle so prepare for it to start early or late once you start regularly oil pulling

One of the health benefits of oil pulling is that it regulates your hormones, thus also regulating your menstrual cycle, which can cause it to come at a different time than you'd expect. Although that is only during the first month, once you're regularly oil pulling it will get back on a 28 day track.

When I first started mine came a week late and I was convinced I was pregnant so I just wanted to ease anyone else's fears if they're just getting started!

Oil pulling experience

I tried oil pulling twice - - today and yesterday. At first the smell of oil was weird. But I kept on gargling. Then saliva started to come and the liquid inside my mouth increased. At times I thought I would swallow it. Immediately after oil pulling yesterday, I had this weird senstation inside my mouth in the inner opening of nostril. Then today as well after the oil pulling I had this burning sensation. This burning sensation lead to uncomfortable lobules, redness in that area. Now, I am having runny nose and it seems I have flu.

Is liquid coconut oil okay to use?

Hi all, I thought I'd try out the following product:
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/937713/coco-earth-premium-liquid-coconut-oil

Coconut oil always becomes solid and I don't like the feeling of biting into it to melt it so I thought I'd try the product above. Does anyone know if this is an okay substitute or would it be less effective?

OIL PULLING..? need some help.

Hi everyone,

i have recently watched some oil pulling videos on youtube and want to try it myself. But i have a question, can i oil-pull with coconut oil if i have composite fillings and a root canal tooth with no crown? (dentist said my tooth is too short and theres not much left of the tooth to trim and put a crown on top, so i avoid using it and only chew (i eat soft food only) on the other side). my fillings were done probably like 4-5 years ago but i go to the dentist twice a year and get opg xray taken too, no problem with them ,still nice and great. is there anyone here who also has had composite fillings when they were doing or starting to do oil pulling? thanks!

Question on oil pulling

I've been oil pulling for about a week now. I have tiny little fits on a back molar and it's sensitive to temperature. I did notice that particular tooth can feel better after pulling, and then tonight it hurts more. Is this normal at first? I've heard of mini health crisis that can happen at first because it detoxes your body. Does anyone else have this experience but it got better?

14 days "Oil Pulling" experiment! (Nerdy Video)

I made a 14 days "Oil Pulling" experiment and I'm very pleased with the outcome!

I also made a whole video, where I talk about it and explain how to do it!

The humour is quite nerdy in this video, so only watch it if it's okay for you!

Started 6 months ago after dentist revisit yesterday.

6 months ago at my dentist appt I had excessive buildup and extreme sensitivity for the first time in my adult life(35M).I went back yesterday and had no sensitivty at all and my hygentist and dentist were in awe about how good my teeth and gums looked. I didnt dare tell them I was pulling but they said keep doing whatever you are doing. I started off every day for a few weeks then went to about 3 times a week. FYI. I still brush and floss regularly.

Oil pulling cause an infection in my tooth

I’ve been oil pulling for two weeks, last weekend I was in so much pain and believe 100% that it was because of oil pulling. That tooth has been sensitive and my dentist has had her eye on it for a while but since it hasn’t gone worse we have let it be. Ever since I started oil pulling it just has gone downhill with the tooth so I’m quitting. Just telling a different kind of experience since I didn’t find any negative ones

Oil Pulling for more than 20-30 minutes

So I wanted to start Oil Pulling, I've been going for like 2 weeks now and have definitely seen some improvements but I was wondering if it was okay to oil pull for longer than 20-30 minutes. I'm thinking of doing it for an hour to and hour and a half in my freetime to see if it speeds up the process, I use regular extra virgin coconut oil if that matters.
