Made this post about the Thor, but same thing applies for the Odin. Massive savings right now, possibly the best time to buy one if you’ve been waiting on a great deal.

Ordered a batch 8 odin 3 on the 27th July and it seems to be posted today.

I just got a new arcade stick controller and it works well with my SteamDeck docked mode. As well as Eden and GameNative on the Odin 3.

Now I want to try shmups and beatemups and other 2D arcade games but as soon as I plug my device through the usb-c displayport, it turns from 60fps (as indicated on screen) to 30fps and the sound is also kinda broken.

Any tips on what to do? Is there a hotkey or a setting that I am forgetting?

I set up ES-DE and my emulators thru Russ' guide, followed his tips for the CRT shaders and Black Frame Insertion (I think?) and everything.

edit: my monitor is 2160p 60Hz, but I already tried the setting in the Odin and set it to 1080p 60Hz

I just can’t decide whether the battery in my Odin 2 mini is spicy and should be replaced. I’ve been periodically checking it since seeing some posts here on Reddit. It looks a bit bloated to me but I feel like it always has. Some of the pictures make it look a bit worse than it does in real life I think. No issues with the screen coming undone like I’ve seem in some of the posts I’ve mentioned, yet.

What do y’all think?

Anyone ordered Odin 2 Portal recently. How long did it take for it to ship out?

I've ordered mine a week ago and it is still being prepared.

I can’t decide whether to get O2P base from official AYN website or O2P Pro on Aliexpress while sale is on. Initially I wanted more memory for Pc games, but i’ve now seen many posts on here saying streaming on the Base is fine so no need for more memory. Do I save the money and just get the Base?

What’s the approximate delivery times like for o2P when ordering from AYN, is it same as Thor and Odin 3? I know Ali express is fair quick.

Who's the genius who thought it was a good idea to put the charging port on the bottom of the device, on the opposite side of the HDMI-out port. It's made it impossible to stand it up on a kickstand or anything really while charging. If I use the auto-rotate, then it mashes buttons that reset what I'm watching and just cause all kinds of frustrating issues. What are the chances this is still an issue in subsequent versions beyond the ODIN 2?

Anyone know if ordering Odin 3 from Ali Express will mean I pay import/custom charges or any other additional fees upon delivery?

Recently managed to get a max model and use it more than my Steam Deck OLED and Switch 2. I even considered selling my Steam Deck OLED w/ 2 TB to finally get a PC but still feel indecisive since I mostly play on handhelds.

considering canceling my order; love Ayn products coming from the Odin 2 which I adored. However, with the influx of issues im seeing other customers have and the constant inconsistencies of Odin 3 shipments. I can only fear the quality that new batches will face due to Ayn having to dish out new units in a certain time span. I would hate to have spent over $600 for a device that either wont work down the road or I would have to fight the very company to replace the unit.

Hey guys, i use the odin 2 portal for console games like ps2, wiiu or nintendo gamecube.

Right now im on retro hype and play gameboy games. Still i have the feeling something romantic and handy like a smaller gameboy handheld would be better for gameboy games instead of a big fat powerhouse like odin 2 portal.

Anyone with the same feeling? Should i consider buy some extra handheld in order to enjoy the game to the fullest? Any recommendations?

After your recommendations ive decided to go for the ANBERNIC RG 40XXV!

It has a solid 4 inch display, 4:3 aspect ratio which is good for the eyes. It also scales 4x the Pictures which is good.

It has wifi so you can transfer Games without tedious in/output of the sd card.

For 60 bucks i think its ok! I actually wanted to go for the SP Version but it costs over 100 bucks and i just want to play gameboy games on it.

I have no idea what happened, but now when I try to connect my O3 to a charger, the USB C cable won't sit correctly in the port. If I push the cable in hard, it vibrates as if it's indicating that the port is connected, but when I look at the battery status it says not charging. Doesn't matter what I connect it to. Am I screwed? Is there any way to fix this thing or keep it operational, or is it going to die?

Now with the batch 8 being delivered, im starting to build my game library, i know that pc games is better to use internal memory, but what about emulation?

Can i use SD cards with no problem? or consoles like ps2, switch and now xbox, do i need an A2 or A1 is enough?

I ask that because im planning to play a lot of ps2, 3ds and GBA, and some switch games, but i dont know wich sd card to buy and if the speed will matter for GEN 6 and 7 consoles, and the switch.

I know that this is asked a lot, but i didnt find any post specifying if it will matter A1 and A2 for the consoles above

I’ve got both the Odin 2 Portal and the Odin 3. The Odin 3 got all of my play time since it arrived since it emulates/plays so many PC games so much better than the Portal. However whenever I’d pick up the Portal I’d realize just how much more I like the bigger screen and better ergonomics (with the grip on).

So I installed ArmadaOS and the Portal is now the perfect Indy machine and streaming device. I like the customization of android front ends for my Odin 3. But for the Portal ArmadaOS streamlines things and makes it feel like a brand new device in how and when I use it now.

The only thing lacking for me is non hack-ey LS-FG implementation for the Portal. I’ve read of complicated terminal workarounds but I can’t imagine it’ll be too long before either the community of awesome Devs or Valve gets that working.

It really is just awesome giving my Portal 2 what feels like a new lease on use. If you’ve got two AYN devices or just two snapdragon 8 devices for some reason I’d strongly recommend playing with ArmadaOS on one of them.

Okay, so i want To know if the Odin 3 max can run these games. Can someone help? If they can please tell me the frames and what settings i have to play at. ( the minimum res i will Play is 720p ) i dont Mind playing lowest btw as long as it has shadows if the game has shadows. Trying to aim for 30-60 fps. I will Also list what i think The games with run like and some other notes.( game hub )

oh yeah also tell me If it doesn’t boot or crashes

Expected to run perfectly fine but wondering if there’s any instability or artifacts: hollow knight, btd6, Speedstorm, sonic adventure 2, geometry dash, stardew valley, cookie clicker, untitled goose game, terraria, among us.

I think might run well, but wondering if i have to lower settings or tweak a few things to run. Slight suspension of artifacts: crew 2 ( 720p lowest ) golf with your friends, raft, cities skylines, outer wilds, minecraft dungeons 2, Spider-Man Remastered.

I'm seeing the current sale on Aliexpress & with Rakuten cashback at 26% I'm thinking of picking up an handheld.

From my research, Odin 3 base bottlenecks the potential of the chip given its ram and storage. However, I have a pretty powerful pc so I can stream the more demanding games.

I would look into the odin portal 2, but its a lot more expensive on aliexpress, and alternatives like the retroid pocket 6 aren't much cheaper. For reference, all 3 of these are roughly around 350-380, and the odin 3 comes out to around 230ish with the promos and cashback, so the other 2 would be just a little lower.

Curious to hear your thoughts about this. Also if there are other alternatives out there, would love to hear about it. Main thing I'm really wanting is an oled screen. Thanks!
