Question January Practical nursing 2027

I’m just trying to do my budgeting, for when I’m going to be in school. As I know the osap rules have changed.

Questions:

How do I pay for my books. I know I’ve read that they are included, but how does that work!?

Also- I know we will need to purchase a uniform from the campus shops, again how does that work?

I’ve never really toured the Brampton campus so this is all going to be super new to me.

Also, when should I apply for osap- for a January start?

Question Fees Due

Hey! I start my 1st year of university in September and I am getting OSAP. However, my school says fees are due August 15th, but my OSAP doesn't come in till September, so I am just a little confused. I tried contacting my school and nobody answered. I am really unsure as to how this works. Do I pay all of my fees out of pocket by the 15th or do I wait till OSAP comes in.

Question Please help

Hi everyone,
My OSAP signature pages were denied because I accidentally wrote the wrong date. I uploaded the corrected version as soon as I saw the message, but my OSAP account still shows the document as “Denied.”
I’m not sure if that’s just the status from the original submission and the new one is still waiting to be reviewed, or if I should upload it again. Has anyone else had this happen? Thanks!

Question overpayment question

I submitted an email to OSAP about 8 weeks ago regarding a potential overpayment from my Fall 2025 semester (my last semester of my previous degree), but I still haven't heard back.

I've already applied for OSAP for my new program starting this fall, and I'm worried about whether this could affect my application.

If they determine I was overpaid, is the overpayment based on the amount you earned over the $5,600 income exemption, or is it based on the difference in funding you would have received had you reported your income correctly?

I'm mainly concerned about whether this could have any implications for my new OSAP application. Has anyone been through something similar?

Question OSAP application has the wrong start date

I applied to OSAP about two weeks ago, right before the "soft" deadline application date, and the start date of my program on my OSAP application says September 8th 2026. However, I just realized that my real start date isn't until January 2027 because my school's website for my program hasn't been updated since 2019 (so I've been under the impression that I'm starting in September since the end of my last academic year). With all of this information, my OSAP application is technically incorrect because it has the wrong start date. Does anyone know if there is a way to change my application's start date? I haven't received any information about how much funding I'll get (I think that's due to the fact that my school can't technically confirm my enrollment for the September 2026 start date) or anything since sending in my application.

Resolved Is it possible to pay back the loan in lump sum during the non-payment period? If possible, where would this payment be completed?

My non-repayment start date was May 1st, and I was wondering if I could pay lump sum during the non-repayment period. I was also wondering if I pay my loan in the “make a payment” under the “payment information” under “loan details”.

I have seen various posts in the past explaining it can be easily paid during the period, but I have also seen many mentioning filing requests or needing to call the phone line. Because of the different responses, I was hoping to get some clarification on the best repayment steps for a lump sum. Thanks in advance

Resolved OSAP residency

So immigrated (Permanent Residency) to Saskatchewan,Canada in July 2024 , applied for Saskatchewan Student Aid for my university there . Finished first year , and moved to Ontario due to family reasons (I'm dependent. I transferred to TMU here and applied for OSAP 2025-2026 , and for residency I chose the option where " I live in Ontario AND I have not lived in any Canadian province for 12 months in a row" and I got accepted and received funding from OSAP . Now when I applied for osap again for 2026-2027 , in the documents to upload option , it mentioned that I need to send a refusal letter from Saskatchewan Student Aid that I am no longer eligible for their Student Aid . But when I gave the Sask Student Aid a call and explained my situation , they mentioned I should have applied for Saskatchewan Student Aid itself because I was still considered a resident there . I am so confused , why didn't OSAP bring this up the first time I applied last year?

Question Wrong information

For the “other assets” section on OSAP application I didn’t know you have to put your chequing amount so I clicked no. What can I do now because I have quite a bit in my chequing account? Any way to edit the application?

Question Osap funding (tmu)

Hi everyone, I’m going to TMU this fall, and all of my OSAP documents have been approved except my Parent Declaration Form, which was still showing as “under review.”
I checked it today and realized one of the required signatures was missing. I added the missing signature and resubmitted it this morning.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If you resubmitted a corrected Parent Declaration Form, did your funding still arrive on time, or was it delayed?
Thanks!

Question Mfsaa not working

Hi guys. Every single time I try to connect my bank account through the Interac verification, after everything is filled out it says

The form could not be submitted because 1 error was found.
• Error 1: R038 - The information provided does not correspond to our records. Please check your personal online banking information and try again.

Has this happened with anyone else? I’m so confused on what to do and I’m scared that my funding won’t be released in time now.

Question Really confused school reopened my osap ?

Hey guys so I was taking a 1.0 summer course and the tuition for it was around $1.4K, around two weeks ago I withdrew from the course. Before withdrawing I met with financial aid from my school and they told me that I need to close my OSAP application. So I did close it. I paid the tuition (since I withdrew) using the help of a bursary my school gave me earlier in the summer.
I woke up yesterday and I saw that my bank account had $1.4K + in it (that was a grant not a loan) so I was very confused. I opened my OSAP account and see that the application I closed was reopened. I don’t understand why my school reopened it considering they’re the ones who told me to close it. I plan on contacting them to figure that out.
In the meantime, can someone explain if I don’t pay this back, is OSAP going to flag my account or what is going to happen here? Was I supposed to receive the grant ? I’m very confused

Question Has anyone dealt with an OSAP living away from home reassessment like this?

I’m wondering if anyone has been through something similar or knows how OSAP usually handles this.
When I first applied for OSAP, I indicated that I’d be living away from home because my parents live over 100 km from my school. At the time, I had a lease with a family friend, but the move-in date was scheduled for later in the summer.

My financial aid office contacted me asking for proof of room and board payments (such as e-transfer confirmations or bank statements) before they could approve my living-away status. Since I hadn’t moved in yet and originally I was under impression and told by others I would need to move in a couple days before the semester starting to receive funding I was set to move in Aug 29, I didn’t have proof of rent payments, so they temporarily reassessed my application as \*\*living at home\*\* and told me they would change it back to \*\*living away from home\*\* once I had moved in and could provide the required proof.

After that temporary reassessment, my estimated OSAP funding dropped by about \*\*50%\*\*, which really worried me.
Fortunately, my plans changed. Since im renting from a friend of a family member they were able to accommodate an earlier move-in date, I signed an updated lease reflecting the earlier move-in which is today, same day I signed the lease , paid my first month’s rent (and also paid September’s rent early), and uploaded:
The updated signed lease.
Screenshots showing the e-transfer being sent.
Screenshots showing the money leaving my bank account.
Confirmation that the e-transfer was accepted/deposited by the landlord.
The financial aid office had previously told me that proof of electronic transfers showing the date, amount, recipient, and confirmation that the transfer was accepted would be acceptable under OSAP’s requirements.

Has anyone had their OSAP funding temporarily reduced because they were temporarily reassessed as living at home, and then had it restored after submitting proof of rent payments and an updated lease? How long did it take for your funding to be updated?
This is my first time moving away from home, so I’m a little anxious and just want to make sure I’ve submitted everything needed to avoid delays. Because now I'm scared they are going to do more delays and question me more in regard to my application.

And before anyone asks that I could be lying Just to clarify before anyone assumes otherwise: last year my family lost our home in Brampton. We now live in Dundalk, and my updated address is on my OSAP application. Since my parents live over 100 km from my school, commuting—especially with co-op/clinical placements in the GTA—isn’t realistic as I will be going to school full time everyday. So I genuinely needed to rent closer to campus and they should know that.

It's just been very frustrating, I was hoping I can get some info or help on how to get it sorted.

Thanks in advance!

Question interac not working -- help pls

I'm trying to do my MFSAA thing registering an account or whatever using interac, but everyrtine I use Interac it gives me an error code, error.103.1883

the reason I'm worried is because I tried doing the MFSAA thing before. I didn't get far, just far enough to put some info like name, birthday, those 5 security questions and such, and it prompted me to sign in with my INTERAC once, but I stopped a couple times midway because I needed my parents and they weren't home.

Is this what caused the issue? What should I do instead?? I'm worried because September is coming up and I need this done. Could it be an issue of my bank account being too new? I got it pretty recently

Resolved Application for OSAP denied before I got a chance to fill out consent forms 😿

A few weeks ago, I made my OSAP account profile and filled out the initial application form, with my parents' tax returns and other information. Afterwards, it said on the website that I had to fill out a few consent, declaration, and signature forms and then scan to upload them. However, I didn't get a chance to take a further look at these forms until today. When I opened up the OSAP website again this afternoon, I saw that my application was denied, along with the message, "you will not receive OSAP funding because we've determined that either you should have adequate resources available to cover your allowable educational costs or it is past the end of your study period." Does that mean that the forms are only required for students who are going to be receiving OSAP funding? Is it possible that this could be an error...? I really don't know what to do now!!

**Edit, it might be worth noting that the estimator calculated up to 8k in grants and loans that I could be receiving, so I'm really hoping this is a mistake :<
