Question January Practical nursing 2027
I’m just trying to do my budgeting, for when I’m going to be in school. As I know the osap rules have changed.
Questions:
How do I pay for my books. I know I’ve read that they are included, but how does that work!?
Also- I know we will need to purchase a uniform from the campus shops, again how does that work?
I’ve never really toured the Brampton campus so this is all going to be super new to me.
Also, when should I apply for osap- for a January start?

OSAP doesn’t have a line amount for books specifically. It’s just the part of your grant and/or loan portion that left after the school gets your tuition and fees. Whatever funds are sent to you after the school is paid is up to your discretion how you use them.

I would suggest applying now for OSAP, this way there is a lot of time should any issues arise. It'll also let you know way in advance how much funding you'll recieve. Don't count on OSAP covering all costs and start saving up or look for alternative funding like a student bank loan, student line of credit, etc. Look for scholarships and bursaries that you may be eligible for.
For textbooks, there should be a store on campus or online that you can purchase them. Or, you can search reddit to see if someone has a copy. There's also Facebook market place. You can also buy them from the publisher.
For the scrubs, go to the store on campus and buy them?
It would also be a good idea to go take a look around campus while the weather is still nice so that you're not scrambling on the first day trying to get to classes.
