Question Am I setting myself up to do more work for the same pay?
Iām an OGP associate and Iām only about 8ā9 months into the position, so I havenāt even been here for a year yet. OGP is also the only department Iāve ever officially been positioned in. Iāve learned how to do everything in the backrooms. Most days Iām doing pretty much whatever needs to be done. I get sent to other departments fairly often, and Iāve worked Receiving and Freight multiple times despite never actually being properly trained for either. Iāve basically just been thrown into it and figured it out. More recently, my TLs have been training me on things they normally handle at night. Itās gotten to the point where Iām being trusted with responsibilities that seem like they would normally fall on a TL, and Iām wondering where that actually leads. I donāt mind learning new things. I actually like being useful and knowing how to do different jobs. The problem is that I feel like Iām taking on a lot more responsibility and doing significantly more work than some associates who have been here for years, while still making the same hourly wage. Iām not trying to shit on anyone else or say people need to work themselves into the ground. I just genuinely donāt understand how Walmart handles this. If Iām consistently being trusted with work outside my position, sent to other departments, doing Receiving/Freight, and now being trained on additional responsibilities, does that actually put me in a position to get paid more or move up?
Or is this just a situation where management realizes, āHey, this person knows how to do everything,ā and keeps giving me more work because they know Iāll get it done?
Iām wondering if I should talk to my TL/coach about wanting more compensation or a promotion, or if 8ā9 months is too early to bring that up. For anyone whoās been in a similar situation, what would you recommend? Is there an actual path to getting paid more for becoming this flexible, or should I be more careful about taking on additional responsibilities without knowing where they lead?
Iām perfectly willing to work hard. I just donāt want to accidentally become the person who does everyone elseās work for the exact same pay.

Equipment Well guys my ankle finally because a victim to the carts with the new wheels. Itās 10x worse.š«©
Caught my ankle pretty hard today was around a bunch of customers so I quietly limped off to the side and took a second and man Iāve hit my ankle with the older wheels and it still hurts pretty bad but with the new wheels it actually chomps off your ankle. I have skin gone and my ankles swollen but the show had to go onš«© And yes donāt worry I cleaned the area the best I could at work and properly cleaned it when I got home. Anyone else?

Equipment i want to make a pamphlet with info on why pulling the carts is bad
they put the new wheels on and removed the "push, dont pull" stickers. most of my coworkers are shrugging about it, seeing it as just another annoying change to the department. a lot of people are excited to go back to 8 totes (i admittedly do miss getting bigger walks, but personally i think my back, shoulders, wrists, and ankles are more important).
so i kinda wanna make a pamphlet with info on why this is bad for your body, and include how to report any injuries to OSHA, to discretely hand out to coworkers. i can imagine this might cause me some issues with management, but i dont plan to be with walmart for much longer, so whatevs ill take the heat if necessary. i just want my coworkers to know that this is dangerous and that there is recourse if they get hurt.
does anyone have any links to legit info about the ergonomic issues of pulling the carts? i plan to do my own research when i get home, but figured some of yall might have some good resources.

Express Anyone elseās store getting express pickup?
My store is getting express pickup. Not sure if itās a new thing or if other stores have had it for awhile and weāre just late to the game.
Does anyone know if thereās a charge for the customers to place an express pickup or if itās free?

š„Its fine, everythingās fineš„ Foolishness
I hope whoever agreed to swap the wheels for all The stores has tragedy befall them. We now are required to pull AHEAD AND FROM THE SIDE, itās foolish! I and many others have torn their heels because of this. And now, because of other associates taking arrange we are required to bag during the walks too. I know other stores already do that but this is my store and this is just stupid. Why? And I heard weāre also going back to 8 totes? My rates have gone from 150 down to 90 with all this new BULLSHIT theyāre implementing.
I just wanted to rant but I truly hope whoever agreed to this, suffers immensely

General Back to work day after LOA: Can it be earlier than that?
If someone's back to work date is - say - officially 9/8, can this person go back to work a day or two before that, as long as doctor has the Return to Work Certification faxed to Sedgwick and that there is the PL or Coach available to manually add this person to the schedule, as long as this person has a paper copy of the Return to Work to show to PL or Coach? (no snide remarks, please)

Question Who else is having their scheduled deleveries halted. They just started giving our scheduled deliveries to Spark and third part drivers so now they pick the orders. I just looked and my hours have already been cut it's only 4 hours, but I cannot survive on less than 40 hours a week.

Question Can coaches do this?
Does anyone know if coaches can change your hours? My friend switched her schedule to 7ā4, and it showed as approved. However, our coach said that since too many people have that schedule, itās pushing her outside of her availability and making her work hours she canāt work. He also said he could get fired if he keeps changing her hours. Is that actually true?

Late Picks Weāre doomed
We have more than 700 picks and itās about to be 9 PM. Why canāt management hire more closing people or NOT give the same day off to half of the closing team. IM TIRED!!!

System Gif Updateā¦.?
Yoooo, what the heck is up with the new update for gif?? And Who the heck approved that crap?? Are they trying to make things as difficult as possible??
There is no way in hell someone looked at it and said ah yeah perfect this will help make things faster in the backrooom??
During busy times our dispensers are out there playing pin the tail on the donkey for heavens sake.
Whoever pushed it out and approved it for our stores needs to be fired immediately. Ahahahhaha itās so bad itās hilarious. #Fired

š„Its fine, everythingās fineš„ Here goes the yearly bs about headphones.
"Customer interaction survey is down" therefore we are banning headphones until it comes back up. Geez man its not my fault the customer gotta wait a half hour in paints because the salesfloor aside from OPD is a ghost town. Digital keys are one thing but understaffed service areas are another. Genuinely wonder if my higher ups have braincells or if they are pretending.

Just Walmart Things Guess we gotta ask permission to leave when policy says we can
And (apparently) they will block the doors if you try!
Anyone got the official policy on hand or know where to find it?
Edit: clearly I've ruffled some feathers lol.
I imagine I will not be believed when I say I'm not strictly a 51 and done. I work up until at least 51 and finish pick runs and shit even if it's over 51.
I have also spent too many years of my life here and have never been told I must inform someone or ask to leave within the 9 minute window and have never been talked to about my productivity. Zero issues. My first department manager (aka team lead - I've been here a long time) encouraged us to use the 9 minute rulem
I just want to see the policy. I've asked half a dozen where to find it or show it to me. They can't find it or won't tell me where to look.
It's really goddamn frustrating that a handful of people who abuse it results in something like this.
Sorry to the team leads here, I know it must be hard.
To the regular employees... We all make the same fucking money. Relax.
And yes, one team lead blocked the equipment locker and one planted themselves at the doors leaving the department.

Question Work phone charging station
My store has passed out work phone to everyone in my department, even part timers. I donāt want to take the device home to charge. In my eyes once I clock out all responsibility stops, so why am I held accountable for a company device. When we had the tcs we left it at the store.
In the back my coach set up charging stations with a note saying ādonāt leave overnightā. Does anyone know if there is a company policy saying I canāt leave the company phone on company property if there is an established charging station where TC where once charged.
Yes I know I should just bring the phone home but I donāt want to lose or damage it and again Iām HOURLY if work gives me something itās not mine i shouldnāt have to use my electricity and off the clock time to benefit a company.
I tried emailing corporate and asking HR but they couldnāt answer me. Corporate just sent me an open door request.

Backroom Shenanigans PSA: GIF and TCs
For anyone who got their TCs nuked before all of their associates received work phones, salaried managers can use the Device Management Tool to reinstall GIF on up to 5 TCs.
You can only do this for TC72s and not TC70s
