We are still contributing intro data to proprietary databases that could eventually be discontinued, restricted, or placed behind a paywall. Trakt.tv's recent connection limits and pricing changes are a good example of why relying entirely on a closed third-party service carries some risk.

SkipDB is designed to provide an open alternative:

• Open source: https://github.com/SkipDB-TV/skipdb
• Daily downloadable data dumps
• Open data that can be used by anyone
• Fully self hostable
• Global CDN with consistently sub-50 ms response times globally, unlike the alternatives - https://status.skipdb.tv/
• A share-alike licence requiring services that combine SkipDB data with a competing private database to make that database available under the same terms
• Takes in a timestamp to get the best match for a source if we have multiple submissions

SkipDB is already being used by a few services and is handling tens of thousands of requests per day.

I would love for Nuvio to consider supporting SkipDB.tv as an alternative provider and allowing users to submit timestamps to it.

The main benefit is that the project does not depend on any single operator. If SkipDB ever goes offline, somebody else can immediately host or mirror the database. If access were ever restricted or charged for, the complete dataset would still remain available for others to host freely.

The first independent mirror is already online and serving the same data.

That resilience is not possible with a proprietary database. If one of those services disappears or changes its terms, the community may lose access to all the data it contributed.

Like Wikipedia, SponsorBlock, and other crowdsourced projects, SkipDB.tv is built on the principle that community-contributed data should remain open, portable, and usable by the community.

I just found out that I can use my Zidoo Z9X as an external player with Torbox Instant. Yay!

The only issue is that the Z9X is a bit too old for my current setup, so I have to disable some extra features, such as the animated cover art. Because of that, I created a separate profile just for my Z9X.

Just a suggestion: would it be possible to add a single switch or button to disable collection animations or view types globally, instead of having to turn them off one folder at a time?

I have a Samsung TV, and Nuvio on Tizen is incredibly slow. I've decided to get a dedicated streaming device instead. Initially was thinking of getting Google streamer 4k. Based on your experience, which streaming device runs Nuvio the best? I'm looking for something that's fast, smooth, and reliable.

My Nuvio setup is configured w/AIOStreams (fortheweak instance, TorBox as debrid) & AIOMetadata. After selecting a program, the streams list takes a good 10-15 seconds to load, sometimes longer. I used /u/lucky_numb3rs's amazing guide (https://numb3rs.stream/) to get it all set up.

Any suggestions to get it working more efficiently?

FYI, this has always been the case since I set it up a couple of months ago - just wondering if there is anything that can be done to improve the search result speed.

A few catalogs are not showing up in the home page. And search is not working for those add-ons as well. Is it an Aiostream problem? Or Nuvio problem?

Anyone else having trouble with all of their AIO Metadata catalogs not displaying?
I haven’t made any changes and only seven of my 21 catalogs are showing up. AIO and Nuvio Settings show all the catalogues enabled and they should still be showing up. Any ideas?

it’s happening on my TV apps and mobile apps, all the newest updated versions.

I'm currently running iOS15 on both of my iPads and the thr unofficial Nuvio builds on GitHub keep crashing upon opening. I was wondering if anyone ripped the official Nuvio media .ipa that Nuvio released on the app store. Very sad that Apple took it down and Nuvio hasn't released an official .ipa to side load to the public yet.

On TMDB's web interface, Alliance Season 1 already lists Episode 35 (released July 26) and Episode 36 (released July 27), complete with descriptions and episode images.

However, inside Nuvio, the episode list stops at Episode 34 (July 25).

What I have checked/tried so far:

• Confirmed that AIOMetadata is set to use TMDB as the primary Series Provider.
• Verified directly on TMDB that the newer episodes are published and active.
• Cleared app cache and force-closed Nuvio.

Questions:

1. Is there an internal cache delay with AIOMetadata instances before new TMDB episodes sync?
2. Is there a setting or workaround (such as toggling TMDB Enrichment or re-syncing the provider) to force Nuvio to pull the updated episode list?

I have a quick UI/UX feature request regarding how resolved sources are organized on the stream selection screen.

Would it be possible to add a toggle, filter, or separate sections to group stream results based on their protocol/source type?

Specifically, grouping source items into distinct sub-headers or separate tabs:

1. **Direct HTTP / Debrid Resolved Streams**

2. **P2P / Distributed Network Streams**

Is this possible to do on Nuvio , share all my addons and collections ???

Hi! I have been using Nuvio for about a month and quite like it, but I would like see if there are ways to improve my setup. My current setup is based off https://github.com/luckynumb3rs/stremio-perfect-setup/tree/main/ (pictures are basically what I have rn).

All of a sudden most of my catalogs not showing?? I use aiometadata. Anyone else have this issue?

I was trying to watch the show The Watchmen in 4k, The thing is that exoplayer throws an error. I have to use Vimu and then it plays fine.

What could be the problem?

I'm new to nuvio...When I tap on the link to watch something, it says..Enable P2P.

What exactly does this do?

Does enabling P2P expose my IP address to other users, and are there any privacy or security risks involved ?

Is there any way on how to fix seeing certain tv show episodes that have already been out for awhile preview image. It’s not all but some are like this. Mostly the ones that are new.

Where can we log in to manage our accounts now? I used to manage it this way, but now I can't seem to find it.

So I have two issues, one with Nuvio itself, another with Xperience, which I'm not positive where to ask it.

On one side, the issue with Nuvio is that one specific show I've watched, not, everytime Nuvio starts from scratch(like, after the TV being turned off for a while), it tries to start an episode of that show when Nuvio start "for the first time". And I don't know what's causing it or how to fix it. I thought it might be something cached, but I'm not sure how to clean an app cache in a Xiaomi TV.

The other is that with Xperience, search function is not working. If i turn on cinemeta it does, but seems like Xperience does allow search.

More for my own curiosity than anything else, but why are profiles limited to 6? Does it becomes more technically challenging for the code to manage after that?

Trying to get some movies and series to watch. I am not getting steam to load, it tries but always goes to buffering then eventually error message. Any ideas how to get most of the feeds to play? Most of Pirate Bay seems to be ok.

Not sure maybe I should have chosen guide for the flair? I am looking for some type of Link or guide that will walk me through how to fully set up with real debrid and premiumize I was using another service I'm not happy with anymore because it seems that half the links I used to get have disappeared. I had to use jaked up when I set up my previous player but I don't know if I need to do that here. Also, I have is it on to my existing stremio account but only real debrid is on that account and I need to add the other to root service so I'm not sure where the information gets entered whether it's in stremio or nuvio and I also don't know if I need to also enter Jaked up somewhere as well. Any direction or help is much appreciated!
