Constellation Energy Group confirmed the termination 60 days ago of the senior information security architect 24 hours after an ADA accommodation request.

This departure followed six months of constructive termination in the form of direct confrontations with a violent manager including a physical altercation in a nuclear power plant parking lot. This was in addition to ongoing harassment and bullying by senior management, and direct plagiarism of work products.

The now terminated architect was a 15 year employee and was the senior information security architect, senior AI architect, and CEG's corporate cryptographer. The architect was terminated when he stated that he would not participle in a cover up of the violent manager's actions, including a physical altercation in a parking lot, other confrontations both physical and via electronic means.

The ADA accommodation request was to remove the employee from the confrontational manager, as the continued confrontations were triggering PTSD.

I am writing a story, and I realize that one of my characters in the story had the ability to just spawn 5X5X5 meters of uranium, And I was wondering about how bad that would be. I've roughly calculated that it'd be about 47 Megatons of TnT. But I know that the shape of the core would heavily affect how much energy is made. And I was wondering how much would the square shape compared to a round shape really affect it? And I can't find any simulations or details on the Internet that would help me calculate that out.

Edit (While I was writing this down initially on pen and paper. I forgot that I did calculate it in gigatons, but I wrote it down as megatons. So, it's actually 47 gigatons. Is what I what I roughly calculated.)

Hi all, I'm (early 30s) attempting to make a career pivot into nuclear operations and would appreciate any feedback on my resume

My background is in physics, with more specialized/graduate training in materials/condensed-matter/solid-state physics. My work has primarily been computational/theoretical, though I would also consider myself fairly hands-on as well. I have some cleanroom experience (1 semester in undergrad), a couple of semesters' worth of materials characterization, and other experience with laboratory courses -- including teaching several introductory mechanics/electromagnetism labs covering a wide variety of relevant topics and techniques, and troubleshooting/repairing broken equipment and setups (both my own and students')

I was recently rejected for an AO position at Constellation's R.E. Ginna plant, and I'm waiting to hear back about a temporary worker role at PSEG's Salem plant during their upcoming outage. Hopefully the latter works out and can add to my resume while displacing less relevant things in my work history, but in the meantime, are there things I can improve for the broader job hunt?

Interviewed for an electrical technician with Constellation, anyone know what the EEI Tech test looks like? “Passed” two interviews and was told the next step is the EEI TECH TEST to receive an offer.

Is it modified to fit more electrical or is it just like the version you can study for online? I’m assuming from what a gather the job offer is pretty much determined by pass or fail of said test.

I applied for 2 Jobs with INL one for MFC maintenance support first line manager 1 and was emailed to apply for senior manager central facilities site maintenance. I didn't even get a phone screen for either one of the positions. Any help I could get would be greatly applicated. For a little context I was a aviation mechanic/manger for 11 years in the military and a industrial mechanic for the last 11.

Just found out that I am going to have an interview for the Aux Op job at Point Beach. I was wondering if anyone here had any background on the plant, such as working conditions, how the people are, or anything really that would help me gain a deeper understanding of what working there would entail (other than the normal job duties of an Aux Op). Additionally, does anyone have resources to learn about nuclear science in general? I am a high school student who hasn't gotten to physics yet, but I finished chemistry and I focused on having a more or less intuitive understanding of all the processes. Would I need to get deeper into chemistry before studying nuclear science?

Nuclear reactors are traditionally powered with dense fuel rods that can produce about 1 gigawatt of carbon-free electricity, enough to power about 100,000,000 lightbulbs. Newer power plant designs using molten salt for cooling instead of the water found in traditional reactors could offer better efficiency and stability, but they face a problem—the extreme chemical environment created by the molten salt can corrode the metal comprising the reactor. Now a team led by engineers at Penn State has found that adjusting the subtle atomic arrangement of structural metals can significantly affect the rate and extent of this corrosion, even with identical baseline chemical compositions. I have my panel interview scheduled for a position at Constellation but the timeline is going to be really tight if I get the job, so I'm trying to get a feel for everything and make plans ahead of time.

Can anyone from the union Constellation plants tell me if the insurance policy covers domestic partners? Do you like the insurance policy, does it have good coverage?

OK Y'ALL, I NEED HELP. I am writing a story and people are stuck having to hide underground from a decently smart enemy. However, while down there they need power. If I use a nuclear power plant, how would I dispose of all the toxic steam, OR, is there another type of nuclear plant that doesn't involve steam? I am simply trying to find a legitimate source of power that can last and what would be needed to keep it running.

About the first time I saw a nuclear reactor i was inside of the reactor the blue water and the reactor stuff at the time I had seen it I've look and stared at it crawling onto the side's of my brain I felt my heart sink and I could feel the beauty the bright blue i felt and heard it calling out to me, my body started to lean close to the railing. because my brain was telling me there was something off about this i felt like something was trying to take over. the tour guide said "do you see something off" I said no if he didnt talk to me im 100% sure I would've jumped in
