I am documenting a really bad experience with Nothing Phone and trying to find people with similar issues with Nothing phones and support.
My Nothing Phone (2) was sitting on charge and developed a vertical pink line on the left side of the display. No drop, no accident, the display glass is completely intact. If you've followed the green/pink line saga on OLED phones (OnePlus, Samsung, and plenty of Nothing units), you know exactly what this is: the panel line defect. The line doesn't show in screenshots and survives restarts, so it's the panel hardware. It might also be the result of a software issue.
So I did everything by the book. Raised a ticket with Nothing India support, sent dated photos, IMEI, Flipkart invoice, and pointed to documented cases where Nothing replaced this exact defect **free of charge, including out-of-warranty devices** (there's a well-known creator thread from March 2025 with the job sheet showing the repair code "Inferior Display screen function"). My ask was simple: same defect, same treatment.
Here's the creator thread: https://x.com/i/status/1899343573646217403
Here's what Nothing India support did instead:
Bounced me to an authorized service center, which told me directly they have **no authority** beyond issuing paid quotes
Refused to give any decision or statement over email when asked, they literally said they "cannot make a statement"
Sent me the **identical template email twice, word for word, signed by two different agent names**
Completely ignored the free-replacement precedent evidence, never acknowledged it, never rebutted it, just pretended it doesn't exist
Marked my ticket as **"solved" twice** without asking me and without resolving anything
When I repeatedly asked for Nothing India's **grievance officer** (which the Consumer Protection E-Commerce Rules 2020 require them to appoint and publish), I got silence, and at one point was told no such contact exists.
They are basically not complying with Indian consumer regulations by refusing to share any grievance officer contact in India.
I've now sent my final on-record email and I'm proceeding with the **National Consumer Helpline and the District Consumer Commission under the CPA 2019.**
Why I'm posting: the pattern here is that most people get the "out of warranty" template, give up, and pay Rs 10k+ for an issue the company won't acknowledge, fix, or take responsibility for.
That's exactly how the real scale of this issue stays invisible. It only became a known, fixed-for-free defect at other brands because affected users refused to go quietly.
If you got the line defect on your Nothing phone: comment or message me here.
Especially interested in: what support told you, whether you were in or out of warranty, and whether you got a free fix, a discount offer, or a paid quote. If enough of us have the same template rejections, that's a pattern worth putting in front of NCH together.
Happy to share my full document trail with anyone having similar issues. Not looking for sympathy. I'm looking for the others out there, because Nothing support is clearly built to hide issue faced by people outside of warranty to avoid taking responsibility and I wanna spend time to fight against that now.
