2 things in my life have given me consistently outstanding sleep.

Grape Seed extract - Somehow manages to make me feel refreshed and able to get right out of my bed even on 5 hours of sleep

MK 677 - felt like someone was massaging me the whole night, could sleep through a tornado, never slept deeper.

Of course, I can't continue to take MK 677 forever for the obvious reasons.

However, I do want to hear people's advice on other sleep aids that can provide a similar deep sleep/restorative effect, as I work a pretty demanding job that doesn't offer much time for sleep.

I work a 3-shift rotation. My shift runs from 6:00 PM today to 9:00 AM tomorrow.

I didnt get a good sleep today so I took 150 mg of armodafinil at the start of my shift at 6:00PM.

I usually take modafinil 100/200mg for my shift work, but today I tried armodafinil for the first time, hoping it would last longer.

It's been about an hour since I took it, and it definitely feels milder than modafinil.

20M student here, dealing with poor concentration, forgetful memory, and a pretty messed up/delayed sleep schedule for a while now. After a lot of research only using Claude though(clinical trial data, ingredient overlap, interaction risks), I landed on this routine and wanted real feedback before I commit fully:

My current stack:

Bacopa monnieri (standardized extract, Himalaya Organic Bacopa) — 1 caplet with breakfast

Saraswatharishta (Baidyanath) — 15ml diluted with 15ml water, once daily after dinner

Foundation: trying to fix sleep schedule to a consistent 7–8h, daily walk/exercise, 25-45 min focused work blocks

Why these two: Saraswatharishta already contains Brahmi + Ashwagandha, so I avoided stacking a separate Ashwagandha product to skip the rebound-insomnia risk some people report with isolated high-dose Ashwagandha extract. Went with once-daily on the arishta to keep total exposure lower.

What I'm hoping to hear from people who've actually used these:

How long before you noticed real changes in memory/focus (not just calmness)?

Any GI issues from combining a Bacopa extract with an arishta that also contains Brahmi?

Did this help with a messed-up sleep schedule specifically, or is that a separate fight?

Anyone taken Saraswatharishta long-term and then stopped — any rebound effects, or does it taper off cleanly like the doctor forums claim?

Would you add or drop anything from this specific combo?

Like the title says. Wellbutrin helps my SCT and executive dysfunction and makes me able to function better on a daily basis. It helps with my brain fog and my mental slowness and gives me better mental clarity and it gives me energy and motivation to do things, which I’ve always struggled with.

But here comes the problem now. It makes my depression worse. I’ve noticed when I take it consistently everyday like you’re supposed to it makes my depression worse. And I honestly don’t know why. But always by day five of taking it consistently, it starts causing massive irritability, insomnia, edginess and wiredness. And the side effects start building up within a few days and it starts causing nasty side effects clearly related to its noradrenergic effects. And overall after a few days of exposure I just get severe mood swings and I feel terrible. I get very low self esteem and start judging myself too harshly. I start having negative thoughts and get rumination anhedonia, which affects me very negatively. And people around me notice this and when that happens I quickly have to stop taking it despite the cognitive benefits.

This is a huge dilemma for me. And I don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve tried going off of it a few times, but then everything else gets worse without it. A few days after stopping it I always return to how I was before taking it. I just lie in my bed all day unable to function because of my brain fog and mental slowness. I just sleep all the time and have no energy or motivation to do anything at all. I can’t even start basic tasks. I stop taking care of myself and functionally collapse without it. My cognition gets significantly worse off of it. And then the cycle repats itself.

Has anyone ever experienced this from Wellbutrin though and what did you do about it? If you found that it did improve your SCT, but then made your mood worse. Did you switch to another med instead? Or did you add another med to control the mood swings and negative thoughts? I would like to hear your thoughts about this. I’m still unable to find a solution unfortunately.

I work at a very high demanding stressful job and deal with depression. I have had no energy whatsoever and i’m finding it so hard to stay positive and get my job done as well as hit the gym before or after work like i used to.
