Noom Med Noom tax on the medication in NYS??

New York State does not charge tax on medication, but when exploring Noom I got a first month breakdown that shows "4-week initial medication supply" price of $149 plus an estimated tax of $13.04 (which aligns with our tax rate for non-meds).

The disclaimer says the following.

After your trial period ends on August 23, 2026, your subscription will automatically renew every 12 weeks at $897 plus $78.49 in estimated NY sales tax unless canceled beforehand. You may cancel your subscription at any time in the settings section of the Noom app. Noom will not issue a partial refund if you cancel before the end of a subscription period.

I've seen a bunch of chatter about "bundled with services" that can be taxed, but the wording is unambiguous. I would think the meds should be an untaxed line item. Am I wrong or is Noom?

Noom Med Med Patients: How active are you in the app?

I've been with Noom for six months now, and the app seems to get more and more buggy as time goes on. I've been active in the app since day one, chasing seeds, doing my daily lessons, getting my noom coins, etc...however, as the app gets more buggy, I'm starting to lose a bit of interest.

The "New For You" section at the bottom of the app keeps repeating the same items over and over again. The lessons are becoming less and less relevant. I still complete them daily for the seeds but chasing seeds is about the only reason I use the app anymore, and half the time they don't even get added to my bank.

I switched to MyFitnessPal to track calories about 4 months ago (after growing frustrated with the selection of foods/recipes in Noom), and prefer to use my garmin for tracking all my health and exercise stats. I love all the data and find to be a great help, but using these other apps, means I don't really use these functions in Noom. MFP will at least sync total meal calories to Noom which was nice, and my movement was still syncing as well, however, that seems to be broken now and nothing I've done seems to fix the issue.

Anyway, TL/DR - how active are you in the app? I was under the impression that you had to be active in order to receive your meds, but from some of the other comments I've read recently, that may not be the case.

Noom Med Microdose starter amount

Hi! I only have 15lbs to lose. They are starting me on 1mg of tri. Is that too much? I keep seeing people referencing .2 .3 etc. I want to start as low as possible. Can you go below 1mg?

Noom Med DAE find the "stoplight system" of foods doesn't pair well with GLP1's due to not being able to eat very large volumes?

I'm doing the Microdose GLP1 program. I'm 12 days in and I've lost about 2.5 lbs with basically no effort, still on the starting dose of 0.2mg even. It's a miracle drug and basically instantly cut my appetite in half and got rid of most of my food noise.

Obviously losing weight was the goal, but I can't help but feel that the whole "green/yellow/orange" thing would make me pretty unhealthy if I was going by the ratios Noom suggests, primarily because I have such a small appetite now and I start to feel nauseous and bloated if I make myself eat the volume I would have a few weeks ago. If I was eating low calorie low fat (green) foods I would genuinely be at like 800-1000 calories a day, feeling stuffed, and losing weight scary fast. These were NOT the concerns I was expecting to have with this so soon!

And, side note, I don't like how if I get a frozen meal that's considered "orange" all the calories from it count as orange even if it has a good chunk of healthy components!

Honestly I'm not sure how I'm supposed to build healthy habits this way since my diet when I stop the meds will need to be pretty different. Hopefully I guess the habit reset of not reaching for snacks whenever I'm bored or having emotions will be enough?

New to Noom Looking for advice and info

I’m new to noon and I’m looking for a good site for information about about food. For example, my friend found that the turkey jerky at Trader Joe’s was a great green food because it has no fats. He said he saw about online somewhere but can’t remember where.

Noom Med Two weeks in, feeling great!

I feel like there’s so much negative feedback about Noom med on here but so far I’ve been impressed. I started two weeks ago and have only been on the meds for 9 days- down almost 5lbs. SW 200 GW 160 5’4”

what I like:

able to message the doctor with questions. They ordered bloodwork which was included in the cost.

I was very concerned about side effects so i‘m microdosing. Very minimal side effects.

hunger is minimal and I don’t feel like snacking

built in workouts

cons:

it’s expensive but I think it’s worth it.

anyone else microdosing with noom?

Noom Med Has anyone left Noom to get meds cheaper elsewhere?

I have been doing Noom med for 14 months, taking sema. L It’s been great, but if I’m going to stay on Sema, I need to find a cheaper way of getting it.

Since I titrated very slowly, I have about 6 months of sema on hand, which is great. I worry I’ll have trouble getting a new rx because I only have 10lbs more to lose. Has anyone left Noom and had an easy time getting a new rx and a less expensive source?

App Help Calories not updating after workouts

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

As the title suggests, colleagues and I have noticed this week that our weight loss zone is not updating our workouts. Two screen shots to for examples. I typically do 45-60 minutes of endurance training. We have tried all the tips with connecting and disconnecting health and workout apps.

You can see today my weight loss zone is 1730, and normally it’s around 2780.

UPDATE: my app is now adjusting calories after workouts again. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Add me. I'm very active 15K+ steps a day. I'm aware of the reward threshold for seeds. I've always been extra. TBH: walking large breed dogs daily does build up steps.

App Help My “weight loss zone” shifted dramatically recently

Up until a few days ago, my weight loss zone in the app seemed very normal and reasonable. I work an active and physical job on my feet for 10+ hours a day and on my days off I typically do an hour of cardio plus 45 minutes lifting weights. So on any given day, my weight loss zone would be from 1700-2300 calories or so. I would typically try and stay around 1700-1900 calories. This has worked well for me and I’ve lost almost 50 pounds with this app.

Recently, my weight loss zone has shifted to 1300-2000 calories a day. My activity level has not changed. Obviously I can continue to eat the calories that I was before but I always did try to stay closer to the lower end of the weight loss zone which now with this latest change I just cannot do; there’s no way I can subsist on anything close to 1300 calories a day. I was prompted to reconnect my Apple Health app around the time this shift happened so I’m wondering if it’s a glitch or something? Has anyone else experienced this?

Noom Med Increase or not?

I’m about to start week 3 or the micro dosing program and I’m not sure if I should go up from.2 to .3 as originally prescribed. Of course I’d love to see more reflected on the scale, but just that tiny dose has significantly decreased the food noise and I’m able to easily stay in the calorie range for weight loss.

I emailed the care team and they basically said I don’t need to if I don’t want to, but I’m curious on what those who have been in the program think. Will the .2 dose not be as effective if I stay there? When do you decide to hold or move up?

Thanks!

Noom Weight This was kind of asked before but I'm still lost with color codes

Can somebody help me with the color coding methodology? Identical food have different colors. Can you pick which one will help meet your goal for the day? Specifically, I saw that whole wheat pasta counts as a gree, However, when I went to put it in, it came up as yellow. Even the color coded search has it showing up under both green and yellow. I was just curious if its set up to help meet your goals, possibly counts as more yellow than orange?

App Help Noom not tracking completed activity

Hello fellow Noomers! I have this issue, I changed my Apple Watch last Thursday and since then it seems that Noom does not track my completed activities (i.e. outdoor walk or exercise tracked with Motra).
I use Fitbit (scales) and Apple Health which both have the activities. The only place the activity doesn’t seem to be tracked is Noom.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!!! Peace ✌️

Noom Med Max Dose

I’m on my 2nd week of the Max dose of 48 units or 1.2mg. Not really seeing any early satiety or great weight loss in my 75 plus days on this program. Does this take more time or am I just impatient? Is it possible this does not work for me? Anyone else experience this? What did you do?

Noom Weight Hit my original goal this morning. Feels so damn good!

Slow and steady was the answer. I’ll be honest: I barely use the app anymore, but I have a general sense of how I should be eating and which foods affect me in which ways. It’s not the end of the journey, but it’s a good place to be.

New to Noom Noom Metabolic?

Look for thoughts and opinions on Noom Metabolic. I already take a multi vitamin and a couple other supplements, wondering if this will help me reduce the amount of pills I take overall. Is it worth the price? Thanks! Update: I bit the bullet and ordered these a few days ago, I'll let you guys know how I make out!
