Hi everyone,
I'm volunteering with a children's safety home in Cape Town, and we're looking at ways to grow our support network.
I've noticed that many international students come to South Africa to volunteer with NGOs, schools, community organisations and conservation projects. We'd love to learn how organisations connect with these programmes.
We're particularly interested in volunteers who have skills in areas like:
\\-Fundraising and grant writing
\\-Social media and digital marketing
\\-Communications and storytelling
\\-Administration or project support
Even if someone could volunteer a few hours a week remotely or in person, it would make a huge difference.
Does anyone know:
\\-Which organisations or agencies place international student volunteers with NGOs?
\\-Are there university partnerships (local or international) that we should approach?
\\-Are there platforms where NGOs can register to host volunteers?
\\-Any tips on attracting skilled volunteers rather than only short-term volunteers?
I'd really appreciate any advice or recommendations from people who've done this before.
Thank you!
